"How many ghosts have you actually caught?" Signature Entertainment in the UK has revealed an official trailer for an animated comedy called The Canterville Ghost, meant to be "fun for the whole family." The movie opens in UK cinemas starting in September. This Oscar Wilde tale adaptation reunites Fry & Laurie and a fantastic voice cast in this spooky animated adventure. It initially premiered at the 2023 Annecy Film Festival a few months ago, but still has no US date set yet. The poor ghost of Sir Simon Canterville has been roaming his castle searching in vain for a brave descendant who will release him from the Canterville curse by performing a brave deed. An American family moves in and finds the ghost amusing, but a young girl in the family can release him - if she dares. The voice cast features Freddie Highmore, Toby Jones, Hugh Laurie, Imelda Staunton, Stephen Fry, Miranda Hart, and Emily Carey. It's not that exciting. This looks mildly entertaining, with some schlocky animation that really makes this look ugly. Have fun anyway. // Continue Reading ›
