Wacky Comedy 'The Musical' Trailer Feat. Will Brill & Gillian Jacobs

The Musical Trailer
"Do we really want to do the same play that every other school does?" Blue Harbor Ent. has unveiled the first official trailer for The Musical, an indie comedy from the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year. One of two new films at Sundance that are about very awkward, inappropriate musicals being put on in school (the other is Run Amok). This one involves a teacher getting revenge on his principal by creating the most WTF production (just wait until you find out what it is). Convinced he's destined for bigger things, frustrated playwright Doug is stuck teaching middle-school theater while dreaming of New York. But when he finds out his ex-girlfriend has started dating his nemesis, the school’s principal, he hatches a plan to ruin the principal's reputation by secretly producing the most unacceptable play imaginable. Starring Will Brill as Doug, with Gillian Jacobs, Rob Lowe, Cayden Romero, Michael Strassner, and many other kids. This is the kind of wacky, borderline-offensive comedy they don't make often anymore, but the humor won't connect with everyone. If you do think this looks funny, then don't miss this when it hits theaters in the fall. // Continue Reading ›

Sara Bareilles: Good Grief Doc Trailer
"So tell me your story..." 🎙️ The official trailer has debuted for the music doc titled Sara Bareilles: Good Grief, another documentary about a musician that is pretty much just marketing for their new album. This film premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival earlier this summer and will be playing in theaters briefly in September. For the first time in seven years, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles returns to the studio with close friends to begin recording her most intimate album yet, born of profound personal loss and grief. The doc captures working on the album also titled "Good Grief" that released earlier this summer. The conversations Bareilles and company share during breaks from the studio feel viscerally personal and also offer valuable insights into the state of the music industry. It all makes for a touching journey through one community of musicians' creative process. Looks like an emotional doc for fans of Bareilles & her music. // Continue Reading ›

A Tale of Two Cities Trailer
"What is he to you?" "A second chance at life!" MGM+ has revealed the first official trailer for the series A Tale of Two Cities, a brand new adaptation of the Charles Dickens story. The novel tells the story of the French Doctor Manette, his 18-year-long imprisonment in the Bastille in Paris, and release to live in London with his daughter Lucie whom he had never met. The story is set against the conditions that led up to the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror. It was adapted a few times before - into a famous 1935 film with Ronald Colman & Elizabeth Allan; another 1980 film with Chris Sarandon; and a few TV series of course. A pair of lookalikes, one a former French aristocrat and the other an alcoholic English lawyer, fall in love with the same woman amidst the turmoil of the French Revolution. Kit Harrington stars as Sydney Carton & François Civil as Charles Darnay, and Mirren Mack as Lucie Manette; plus Ian Pirie, Roxane Duran, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Yannick Renier. Gibney's Doc 'Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie' Trailer

Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie Trailer
"It's a story in which hatred is finally overcome... by love." Abramorama has unveiled the official trailer for a documentary film titled Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie, from doc mastermind Alex Gibney. It premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to mostly good reviews, but that's usually the case with Gibney's films. Knife offers an intimate portrait of author Salman Rushdie in the aftermath of the 2022 knife attack that nearly took his life. More than 30 years after Iran issued a fatwa calling for his death over The Satanic Verses, Rushdie traveled to Chautauqua, New York, to speak about the US as a sanctuary for exiled writers & artists. He was attacked on stage, with life-altering injuries, including the loss of sight in one eye and nerve damage. The doc provides an unprecedented inside look at Rushdie’s recovery & life after the attack, including never-before-seen footage captured by his wife, acclaimed poet & writer Rachel Eliza Griffiths, alongside Rushdie's own candid reflections on survival, creativity, love, and finding a way forward after an act of violence that fundamentally changed his life. It's adapted directly from Rushdie's memoir "Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder" – the doc film moves beyond the attack itself to explore his return to writing, his resilience, and his determination to continue creating despite the threats he has faced for decades. A powerful doc about survival and above all else the freedom of expression. // Continue Reading ›

Trees are Watching Horror Trailer
"In a forgotten town, the curse never sleeps..." 🌳 Mij Film has revealed the first official trailer for the indie horror film titled Trees are Watching, made by Kurdish filmmaker Bahman Ghobadi as his latest feature. This eerie, mysterious eco horror film stars Eva Green and will premiere at the 2026 Toronto Film Festival this fall as one of their major festival world premieres. This looks extra creepy and strange! With a haunted wooden chair. Novelist Darya returns to her hometown with her deaf daughter to work on her new book. There she is haunted by the memories of twin girls from her childhood, and the two trees planted as their memorials, the only that remain among mass deforestation. The film stars Eva Green & Murat Yildirim, along with child actors. TIFF explains: "Across surreal set pieces that ebb with heightened phantasmagoric stylization and sometimes full-blown Grand Guignol spectacle — particularly in a thrilling sequence that recalls the American Final Destination series — Ghobadi conjures a unique flavour of terror, enriched with nuanced philosophy and a deeply personal dimension." Jon Hamm & Giovanni Ribisi in 'American Hostage' 70s Series Trailer

American Hostage Series Trailer
"This is more than just a hostage situation..." Amazon MGM Studios has revealed the full official trailer for a new series called American Hostage, ready for streaming on MGM+ starting this September. This is the exact same story told in the movie Dead Man's Wire, which played in theaters earlier this year (and it's very good). The series instead focuses the camera on radio host Fred Heckman, who was portrayed in Gus Van Sant's film by Colman Domingo (as "Fred Temple" instead in that version). It's a true story! This really did happen. Based on the podcast, American Hostage is a psychological thriller set in the 1970s that tells the fascinating story of Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter who's thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when the bitter hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program. Starring Jon Hamm as Fred & Giovanni Ribisi as Tony Kiritsis, Mireille Enos, William Jackson Harper, Kristoffer Polaha, & more. This looks much more for-everyone entertaining and "neutral" than the film, which is a real provocative look at Kiritsis & what really went down. View below. // Continue Reading ›

First Teaser for James Gray's NYC Film 'Paper Tiger' with Adam Driver

Paper Tiger Teaser Trailer
"It's New York. Everyone's on the take all the time." Neon has revealed the first look teaser trailer for the film Paper Tiger, the latest NYC drama created and written and directed by filmmaker James Gray (We Own the Night, Ad Astra, Armageddon Time). This premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival playing in the Main Competition, though reviews were quite mixed (here's mine). The story follows two brothers who pursue a lucrative business opportunity in 1980s Queens (involving the Gowanus Canal), only to find themselves caught up in a scheme involving the Russian mafia, which ends up terrorizing their suburban family and puts their own sibling bond to the test. Adam Driver stars as Gary Pearl, the older brother and a former cop, who now is a fixer around the city. Miles Teller co-stars as Irwin, Gary's younger brother. His wife Hester is played by Scarlett Johansson, with Gavin Goudey & Roman Engel as their sons. Also featuring Victor Ptak as Simeon Bogoyavich, an intimidating Russian mob boss. Neon drops this into theaters in November after playing at a few more festivals this fall, including a homecoming at NYFF. Good film! I'm a fan of it even though it's not the best of the year, Driver's complexity makes it all the worthwhile. // Continue Reading ›

Anya Taylor-Joy & Chris Evans in Eco Warriors Movie 'Sacrifice' Trailer

Sacrifice Trailer
"Only you can save the world..." DCM in Germany has revealed an official trailer for the movie Sacrifice, an especially provocative eco-warrior thriller from French filmmaker Romain Gavras as his first English-language creation. This originally premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival one year ago to completely divisive reviews - some hate it, some think it's okay, some dig it; all over the map (here's my thoughts). At an elite fundraising gala, celebrities and socialites find themselves in danger when armed activists storm the venue in pursuit of a legendary relic that could unlock supernatural powers. This film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as an eco-warrior who takes hostage this special rich person event held at a marble mine. "Thought-provoking, visually arresting, and powered by a kinetic original script co-written with Will Arbery (also of Succession), Gavras' Sacrifice is a satirical action-adventure and visually explosive epic led by a magnetic star-studded ensemble." The cast features Anya Taylor-Joy as Joan, Chris Evans as Mike Tyler, Salma Hayek, Vincent Cassel, Sam Richardson, Yung Lean, Ambika Mod, Charli XCX, as well as John Malkovich. One helluva cast! This is an extra bonkers, extremely ambitious, totally wild film that even if it doesn't all work, still deserves our admiration for existing and being this bold and crazy. This 'Bingebuster' Website Recreates a Virtual Blockbuster to Peruse

Bingebuster Website
Time to step into the past! 📼 Venture back into the ol' Blockbuster video store and choose your movie to watch tonight. A brand new website called "Bingebuster" has launched as a fun virtual experience. Instead of just recreating the Blockbuster video experience digitally, they went a step further and actually made this a functional experience. The website syncs with various streaming services (Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, Disney+, Apple TV, Tubi, ITVX) to display actual movies that are available to watch directly on the online shelves as if you were browsing & choosing there. I remember doing this! The whole point is to recreate that nostalgic, lost-in-time experience of driving down to the nearest Blockbuster (or Hollywood Video or a local rental shop) Friday night and browsing the shelves and deciding then what to watch that night. This might really help with the streaming choice overload that so many people feel. It's organized just like Blockbuster - by genre along with new releases. You can even re-sort and filter as well. This is also made by the same guys who created the virtual Criterion Closet collection website called The Closet (check it out too). More below. // Continue Reading ›

The Beloved Full Trailer
"It's a story about betrayal, a story about abandonment." Madman Films has unveiled a new official trailer for the film titled The Beloved, originally known as El ser querido in Spanish, which initially premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival a few months ago. A new film by acclaimed director Rodrigo Sorogoyen (Stockholm, May God Save Us, The Candidate, Mother, The Beasts). Described as this year's Sentimental Value because the premise is quite similar - it's about an iconic filmmaker father trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter, who is also an actress. However, this film spends more time on set (in the Canary Islands) where he's shooting a new film which is thematically similar to the fractured relationship he has with her. Javier Bardem stars as Esteban Martínez, a famous filmmaker working on a new film. Victoria Luengo co-stars as his daughter Emilia, an unsuccessful actress. They reunite on a film shoot, confronting their strained relationship and many unresolved past issues that neither wants to address directly. This first premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival where it earned some top notch reviews and won the L'Å’il d'or Best Documentary award at the fest. Robert Pattinson is Chris Hansen in 'Primetime' Thriller Full Trailer

Primetime Trailer
"This could be our greatest segment yet." 📺 A24 has debuted the main official trailer for Primetime, the chilling new cinematic take on the unsettling TV news program "To Catch a Predator" attempting to uncover & incriminate pedophiles. From director Lance Oppenheim (of Some Kind of Heaven and "Ren Fair"), this new film stars Robert Pattinson as the host Chris Hansen, who seems to have his own motives for this series. In 2006, "To Catch a Predator" host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history. Just last year there was a documentary film titled Predators (watch the trailer) from Sundance, which took a very critical look at the show, the host Chris Hansen, and what was really going on behind the scenes, and whether it was actually helping stop predators or making things worse. This film seems to be inspired by the revelations in that doc, telling the story of how Hansen created this show for his own smug glory. Along with Pattinson, Primetime stars Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Matthew Maher, Phoebe Bridgers, and Bokeem Woodbine as a cop. This is premiering at the 2026 Venice Film Festival next month before opening in US theaters this fall. "What would've happened if I wasn't here...?" Looks dark and intense! Watch: A Live Stunt Show Viral Marketing Promo for 'Mutiny' in NYC

Mutiny Live Stunt Show Marketing Promo
Push the button!! Lionsgate debuted a video for a recent viral marketing stunt they setup in New York City to promote the action movie Mutiny (watch the trailer). This is pretty cool! I dig these on-location promos. Mutiny smashes into theaters this August - made by the same action director as Plane. After his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered in front of him, Cole Reed is set up to take the fall for the crime – leaving him on the run as he works to uncover an international conspiracy. Most of the big action takes place on a cargo ship which Statham has invaded. Not only does he want vengeance, he's going to rescue a bunch of people. Starring Jason Statham as Cole Reed, with Annabelle Wallis, Jason Wong as Taran, Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravicius, Adrian Lester. Lionsgate setup a big red button near the USS Intrepid Museum in NYC. When someone pressed it, a bunch of stunt actors would jump into action and fight each other there for ~5 minutes right in front of them. Awesome! Usually these gimmicks are cringe or boring, but props on actually getting a live stunt show action team to perform. Glad they taped it for us to watch! Enjoy the video. // Continue Reading ›

Playing at FrightFest London before it hits theaters later this month. Instead of trying to come up with any unique concept, this is literally just – what if tons of deadly spiders started taking over a resort island where a bunch of influencers were. Almost as if this script was written by AI! Probably not but it's that generic. A bunch of young men and women just want to have some fun in the sun. What could go wrong? The world's hottest influencers head to a secluded tropical island to party at a luxurious new hotel. But they soon find themselves fighting for their lives against a horde of deadly spiders trying to take over the exotic resort. The cast includes Rose Williams, Tim McInnerny, Avani Gregg, Andy Nyman, Divian Ladwa, and many others. This looks very gross & absolutely horrifying for anyone who hates spiders (like I do). They're everywhere! Watch out. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for 'Jodorowsky Collection' A 10-Film Blu-Ray Box Set

Jodorowsky Collection Trailer
"You know you cannot escape death, but immortality can be obtained." Umbrella Ent. in Australia is about to release a glorious new 10-film 4K Blu-ray box set called the Jodorowsky Collection. Yes indeed, it is an exhilarating complete collection of everything from enigmatic visionary Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky. Best known for his early psychedelic films El Topo and The Holy Mountain, this Blu-ray set also includes the sci-fi documentary Jodorowsky's Dune (not directed by him but entirely about Jodo anyway) and all of his recent films as well. He tried to make a comeback with The Dance of Reality in 2013, Endless Poetry in 2016, and the doc Psychomagic, A Healing Art in 2019 – all of these are included in here as well. Legit. Climb the mountain and take hold of "The Alejandro Jodorowsky Collection", a FULL ten film cinematic retrospective of a pioneering visionary." Remarkably, Jodo is now 97 years old and still thinking of cinema. I highly, highly recommend every cinephile watch both El Topo and The Holy Mountain because they're entirely mind-bending, one-of-a-kind cinematic experiences. I'm glad they put out a trailer for this - a nice career retrospective. Alas, this set is only available in Australia / New Zealand for now. Still awesome. // Continue Reading ›

First Look Teaser for John Wilson's Doc Film 'The History of Concrete'

The History of Concrete Doc Trailer
Tune in! Magnolia Pictures has unveiled a fun teaser trailer for the documentary film titled The History of Concrete, the very first feature film made by acclaimed doc filmmaker John Wilson. This premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year as one of the hottest tickets at the festival, earning rave reviews from critics and regular viewers alike (here's mine). It's funny. Following the finale of his acclaimed HBO doc series "How To with John Wilson", NYC documentarian John Wilson looks to the bedrock of his beloved New York City for inspiration and structure. He decides to make a doc about concrete – not only its history, but the way it's ever-present in all aspects of our lives (from buildings to pavement and beyond). We learn about the differences between cement and concrete, how to clean up concrete, and everything else you did not know you would learn about concrete, but now he'll tell you all about. An amusing and entertaining doc that becomes a tribute to all the various people of New York City, who are as important to holding the city together as all the concrete... Executive produced by Nathan Fielder. Stay tuned for the full trailer soon. // Continue Reading ›

Nathalie Emmanuel & Claire Forlani in Thriller 'Confinement' Trailer

Confinement Trailer
"Trust me. We take care of our own." She doesn't sound very trustworthy! Paramount Movies has revealed an official trailer for a crazy family thriller Confinement from the UK, ready for release next month. This being sent directly to VOD starting in the fall – not exactly the most exciting horror release. But then again this doesn't look that exciting either, another been there don't that story we've seen many times before. Get Out meets Rosemary's Baby meets Ready or Not – is the best pitch for this. A grieving widow is invited to her late husband's family estate to recover, but when she is forced to stay until she gives birth, she must confront whether her child is cursed or if she is losing her mind. This looks creepy but also this family looks totally nuts! This new horror thriller stars Nathalie Emmanuel as Stella, along with Ben Cura, Eloise Lovell Anderson, Charlie Hiscock, and Claire Forlani. Another direct-to-video movie we can all skip. // Continue Reading ›

Two 30-something detectives, Leo and Bella, investigate a case leading them into West London's criminal underworld. Nick Blood plays Leo and Saffron Hocking (from "Top Boy", "The Devil's Hour", Hedda) plays Bella. Mahershala Ali's 'Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother' Main Trailer

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother Trailer
"Don't underestimate Latif." Ohh this looks GOOD! Amazon MGM Studios + Orion Pictures have unveiled the main official trailer for the movie titled Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, set for release in theaters starting in September after the summer is over. Expanding nationwide in October after premiering at TIFF. From writer-director Bassam Tariq (director of Mogul Mowgli & "Bait") comes an awesome action thriller. This seems like a clever Blade alternative after Marvel let Ali go and never made it. Mahershala Ali stars as Latif, a devoutly religious hitman who struggles to balance work, faith and fatherhood. When his wife dies, he embarks upon a desperate journey across Houston, Texas to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him – and the beliefs threatening to unravel within. Mahershala Ali called Latif "the most honest and complicated character I've read in a script" during an intro at CinemaCon, stating that this is "exactly the kind of movie I've been wanting to make." The full cast includes Giancarlo Esposito, John Cho, Tramell Tillman, Abubakr Ali, Laith Nakli, Tiffany Boone, and Adia. This looks totally badass! Review: Cretton's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is Spidey at His Best

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Review
Another year, another Spider-Man movie. Everyone is back out in theaters watching the web slinger sling his webs again, Spider-Man is still one of the most beloved characters worldwide, it'll be a massive hit – as always. Thankfully it's also a massively good movie. How many Spidey movies are we at now? Officially this is the 10th Spider-Man movie so far, but that's only counting the movies specifically about Spidey created by Sony Pictures – not all of his MCU appearances or anything else. It's the 4th one starring Tom Holland and the first to not include "Home" in the title after the original trilogy made by director Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019, Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021). Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, his second big Marvel movie after directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in 2021, and he aced this. I'm relieved to say this is actually one of the best Spider-Man movies yet, up there with Raimi's Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. When you let a really wonderful filmmaker like Destin Daniel Cretton make a movie you get something really wonderful. I keep saying it & once again must repeat: Destin is the real deal. // Continue Reading ›

Film History Doc 'Boorman and the Devil' Trailer on Making 'Exorcist II'

Boorman and the Devil Doc Trailer
"We all make failures. Try not to make a famous one..." Yellow Veil Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for a film titled Boorman and the Devil, a fascinating documentary feature about an infamous moment in Hollywood history. After directing Point Blank and Deliverance, director John Boorman was offered to direct The Exorcist II for Warner Bros in 1975. The film was a massive failure, critically and financially, nearly ending his career. Years later, cast and filmmakers discuss its ambition and artistic value. This is the story of what happened, why it was an ambitious idea, and the value of taking big creative swings (especially in Hollywood). The film premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival last year with stops at many other fests. Playing in art house theaters during September to watch. The doc's director explains: "I miss big, ambitious filmmaking that takes huge risks. In 1977, John Boorman took an enormous creative and commercial swing with Exorcist II: The Heretic which didn't connect with almost anybody at the time—but now we can look back and appreciate how big creative swings are what going to the movies is all about. Boorman is one of the greatest filmmakers that has ever stepped behind a camera, and I’m so happy to be telling the story of the one film that not only nearly destroyed him, but forever changed the way he made films." "Feel the sparks fly." One of the most enduring love stories of the 21st century returns to theaters in 2026. Two teenagers, a city boy in Tokyo and a girl in rural Japan, mysteriously begin swapping bodies, forging a connection that sends them searching for one another. Everything is connected to a comet known as "279P/Tiamat" that appears in the sky. Featuring the voices of Ryûnosuke Kamiki, Mone Kamishiraishi, Ryô Narita and Aoi Yuki. "I just want to move." 💃 Dance dance dance, Rinko! Sony Pictures Classics has debuted their magnificent main official trailer for the acclaimed indie favorite called Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty!, which initially premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It picked up many terrific reviews there, then was acquired by SPC for release - highly recommend watching it in theaters this September when it's out. It's one of my favorites as well. Lovers Haru and Luis enjoy competing in Tokyo's ballroom dance scene, but after tragedy strikes, Haru withdraws into isolation. When friends coax her back to the studio amidst her grief, she develops an infatuation with the new instructor – another very attractive Latino named Fedir. She must face what comes next as sparks fly. Rinko Kikuchi stars as the fabulous Ha-Chan, sporting a big curly fro, along with Alberto Guerra, Alejandro Edda, Yoh Yoshida, Damián Alcázar, and Japanese actress known as "You". First Trailer for 'Jumanji: Open World' Sequel w/ Hart, Gillan, Johnson

Jumanji: Open World Trailer
"Did I break the world?" "No! But maybe..." Sony Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for the wild comedy sequel Jumanji: Open World, the third and final (supposedly?) live-action Jumanji movie in this recent series. Everything kicked off (again) with the reboot Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017 and continued with the not-so-funny Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019, now wrapping up with this finale some 7 years later. The players have escaped the ever-changing jungles of Jumanji, but this time the game breaks free of its console, unleashing chaos into our world. "The final countdown begins." This time everyone from the past two movies have to deal with the game coming out into the real world, kind of like the very first Jumanji from 1995 with Robin Williams (still the best one). The very fun, big ensemble cast for this sequel includes Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser'Darius Blain, Rhys Darby, with Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito. This looks like the weirdest one yet, with even stranger things happening to these people. Does it still make anyone laugh? // Continue Reading ›
