New Trailer for 4K Re-Release of 'Ninja Scroll' 90s Action Anime Classic
"When I die, I'll take you to Hell with me!" AMC has revealed a new official trailer for the 4K re-release and celebration of the classic Japanese anime Ninja Scroll, originally released in 1993 in Japan. Set in the age of samurai during the Edo period of feudal Japan, written & directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, Ninja Scroll is now considered a truly seminal work in anime filmmaking. This premiered at Berlinale earlier this year and will be out in US theaters in October this fall – for just a few nights only. A vagabond swordsman is aided by a kunoichi and a spy in battling a demonic clan of killers led by a ghost from his past, bent on overthrowing the Tokugawa Shogunate. Featuring the voices of Emi Shinohara, Kôichi Yamadera, Takeshi Aono, Daisuke Gōri, Toshihiko Seki. This 4K restoration of Ninja Scroll was produced by AMC Global Media's Sentai under the supervision of Director Yoshiaki Kawajiri. The digital update was a painstaking restoration and remastering of the movie — a meticulous process that involved a 4K scan of the original 35mm negative, then repairing any damage and color correction. This is looking pristine! A must see big screen experience. // Continue Reading ›

New Trailer for 'The Fast and the Furious' 25th Anniversary Re-Release
"Wanna go for a drive?" Universal Pictures has unveiled a brand new anniversary trailer for the OG classic The Fast and the Furious, the very first movie that launched this franchise all these years ago. Originally released in June 2001, The Fast and the Furious is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year & Universal is sending it back into theaters this August. It also had a special screening at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. "Over the course of 11 films that have stoked passion in an ever-expanding audience and have earned more than $7 billion U.S. at the worldwide box office, Universal's record-smashing, homegrown Fast & Furious Saga has become the studio’s most-profitable and longest-running franchise." Directed by Rob Cohen, The Fast and the Furious stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Rick Yune, Chad Lindberg, Johnny Strong, and Ted Levine. The Fast Saga then continued on with many sequels & spin-offs, and they've got the next Fast Forever sequel scheduled for 2028. Many die-hard fans consider the second movie the best, but this first one is still tons of fun. And more raw in the way it actually had to set the stakes and make the driving realistic which was copied after. Catch it on the big screen again. // Continue Reading ›

Brad Pitt + Dog in Survival Thriller 'Heart of the Beast' Official Trailer
"One last mission... We're not going to die out here!" "We've been through worse..." 🐕 Paramount Pictures has launched the first official trailer for Heart of the Beast, a new wilderness survival thriller from action filmmaker David Ayer (of Fury, Suicide Squad, Bright, The Tax Collector, The Beekeeper, A Working Man). This time he snagged Brad Pitt for his leading man taking a break from Statham. This dog movie + survival adventure will arrive in theaters nationwide this September. A former Army Special Forces soldier and his retired combat dog, Odin, attempt to return to civilization after a plane crash out in the Alaskan wilderness. They are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements. This new movie is an intense adventure thriller that explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet. Starring Brad Pitt and his doggie, with J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. Even though it's set in Alaska, this was shot entirely in New Zealand at various national parks & locations in that country. Even though I love the doggie, this looks like a generic macho military man movie. Just watch The Grey instead. // Continue Reading ›

Review: Spielberg's Sci-Fi 'Disclosure Day' Really is Afraid of The Truth
The truth will set us free. But will it really? Or is this just another nice platitude we all like to hear? We live in a very strange, post-truth era now, where the actual truth doesn't seem to matter much, and many people are instead obsessed entirely with believing whatever "truths" they prefer all because objective truths are too scary now (e.g. vaccines, climate change, etc). I'm not sure if Steven Spielberg doesn't know this, doesn't understand this, or doesn't know what to say or how to address this, because his new sci-fi film Disclosure Day is obsessed with discovering and unveiling the truth (about aliens) to the world in a time where doing this makes no difference anymore. He seems so lost in his own conspiracy theories and his faith about aliens being here on Earth, that he forgets to actually tell an interesting story with a meaningful message. He also forgets to actually make a movie that's about aliens at all. And most importantly, he seems to have forgotten to have anything actually worthwhile to say within this movie. The ending is blatant avoidance and massive cinematic fumble, even if the rest of the movie before is quite thrilling. Sorry Mr. Spielberg, but this ain't it. // Continue Reading ›

First Look Teaser for 'The Social Reckoning' Sorkin's Facebook Sequel
"Senior leadership knows, and is doing nothing." Sony Pictures has unveiled the first look teaser trailer for The Social Reckoning, the highly anticipated follow-up to David Fincher's 2010 film The Social Network about Facebook. This time, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin returns but is also directing the movie in addition to writing it. The Social Reckoning, a companion piece to The Social Network, will debut in theaters starting in October this fall. "Every revolution begins with a reckoning." This sequel follows the story of Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer, who enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz, a Wall Street Journal reporter, to blow the whistle on the social network's most guarded secrets. Starring Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, with Bill Burr, and Jeremy Strong as the slimy Mark Zuckerberg trying to get out of being responsible for any of the problems Facebook has caused. Not only an impressive cast in here, but it's thrilling to see them switch things up to focus on how dangerous & idiotic Zuckerberg has become. First Trailer for Kiwi Comedy 'I, Object' About a Boy Talking to Objects
"Whatever happens, you always have us." Umbrella Entertainment has unveiled the official Kiwi trailer for I, Object, a coming-of-age indie drama from New Zealand opening this winter down there. It's opening in July but it doesn't have any US release set yet - hopefully sometime not too long after this opening. I, Object is written and directed by acclaimed sci-fi filmmaker Andrew Niccol, director of Gattaca, S1m0ne, Lord of War, In Time, The Host, Good Kill, and Anon – his latest film from back in 2018. This heartfelt film follows Tom, a 10-year-old boy with a vivid imagination who sees faces in everyday objects. After the sudden death of his father, Tom retreats into a fantastical world they once shared, connecting with all these items around him! Starring Bentley Storteboom as Tom, with Skywalker Hughes, Anna Faris, Tom Kerr, & Karl Urban. This also reminds me of that IF: Imaginary Friends movie with a somewhat similar concept about a kid finding comfort in befriending all these objects. It's set for release in both Japan and in US theaters sometime later in 2026 - no final date confirmed yet. Supernatural Horror Thriller Film 'Lockbox' Trailer with Carla Gugino
"Perhaps Winthrop was trying to stop something that can't be stopped..." Evil Wants Out. 😱 And into your nearest movie theater! Aura Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for a horror thriller movie titled Lockbox, formerly titled Winthrop, arriving to watch in limited US theaters starting in July this summer. This chilling new supernatural horror follows a woman and her strange cousin who might be possessed by something scary. What's wrong with Winthrop? A woman puts everything on the line in her rural town to defend her enigmatic cousin from a dangerous otherworldly entity determined to track him down. Starring Carla Gugino, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Katharine Isabella. A better intro: "Lockbox captures the eerie dread that makes 'Knifepoint Horror' such a success. Carla Gugino is a perfect fit for the film, bringing a rare intensity and subtlety that aligns perfectly with the silent horror of Lockbox. Beneath the supernatural tension, the film explores how generational trauma festers and twists over time. It's horror with weight, and it stays with you..." Millie Bobby Brown & Louis Partridge in 'Enola Holmes 3' Full Trailer
"Can I love him without losing myself?" Good question. Netflix has unveiled their official trailer for Enola Holmes 3, the next sequel in the Enola Holmes series of whodunit mystery adventure movies, starring Millie Bobby Brown as the teenage sister of the already famous Victorian-era detective Sherlock Holmes. Ready to watch online starting in July. The first Enola Holmes premiered in 2020 on Netflix and apparently they've become such a huge hit, that Netflix is making more and more of them. After Enola Holmes 2 in 2022, this next sequel is ready to go. Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled & treacherous than any she has faced before. They set this on Malta because it's a famous place to save money filming nowadays since it's a European tax haven. Apparently this one also involves Enola getting married to Tewkesbury, her love interest introduced in the second film, who is a member of the House of Lords. Millie Bobby Brown returns as Enola, with Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, plus Himesh Patel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Susan Wokoma, Henry Cavill back as Sherlock & Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria. This has already been filming down in Atlanta since April this year and won't be ready for debut on Netflix until sometime in 2027 next year. Netflix's official intro for it: "For more than 50 years, Scooby-Doo has been a pop-culture powerhouse. The franchise has spawned three theatrical films, more than a dozen animated series, and nearly 40 animated home entertainment movies. But Scooby-Doo: Origins marks the first time Scooby-Doo will appear as a real dog. Can we get a round of a-paws for the new pup?" Full Trailer for 'Mockbuster' Doc - Making a B-Movie for The Asylum
"Are you panicked yet?" Giant Pictures has revealed their full official trailer for a documentary film called Mockbuster, a clever meta comedy from Australian filmmaker Anthony Frith. This is not a faux doc, it's a real doc film about the infamous studio known as The Asylum. A look at what it's actually like to make a bonafide B-movie. Formed in 1997, The Asylum has been creating rip-off B-movie blockbusters for decades (called "mockbusters") and releasing them to fans who want to watch this unabashed junk and laugh their butts off. Mockbuster is a comedic, behind-the-scenes documentary of the making of Anthony Frith's own dinosaur film The Land That Time Forgot for The Aslyum, which made in 6 days in Adelaide. "Throughout the film shoot, Frith navigates the gloriously chaotic orbit of Asylum producer Brendan Petrizzo and studio founders David Rimawi, David Latt, and Paul Bales as he attempts to keep a prehistoric adventure afloat amid rubber dinosaurs, last-minute rewrites, and caffeinated panic." The doc will be out to watch this July. It's an amusing B-movie version of Megadoc, taking us into the wacky world of making (bad) movies. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

One More Rad Story Trailer for 'Star Wars: Galactic Racer' Video Game
"Racers don't go head to head against Sebulba – legends do." Buckle up! Fuse Games has launched another official trailer for the Star Wars: Galactic Racer video game, ready to play in October later this year. Sometimes we break our rules and post trailers for video games - and this game continues to look awesome. Growing up, I was a huge fan of the N64 game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, featuring pod racing from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (both released the same year in 1999). I'm ready to play this next! Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. The campaign is set in the New Republic Era and takes place on the desert planet Jakku as seen in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the Empire now gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and new champions are forged. We featured the original debut trailer late last year. This latest promo is a look at the story mode in this, involving the racer Sebulba and others competing for podracing glory. Fun Trailer for 'Kiri and Lou Go Raaa!' New Zealand Stop-Motion Film
"Together they're the perfect storm." It's a feature version of the original series created in 2019 called "Kiri and Lou". Indie Comedy 'Let's Love' Trailer with Freeman, Akerman, Hutcherson
"It's us, you know, it's always been us." Cineverse has unveiled their official trailer for a romantic comedy called Let's Love, arriving to watch on VOD next week. Despite the impressive cast in here, this is getting dumped on VOD right way and looks like a fairly lackluster meta comedy creation. In Let's Love, the cast and filmmakers of a hit romance film (titled Don't Delete the Kisses) reunite for a fan event that is then cancelled. As they spend a weekend revisiting filming locations, nostalgia gives way to unresolved feelings, conflicts, and ambitions. Ten years after a breakout hit film, screenwriter Nigel, director Andrea, and actors Jackson and Jess reunite in Wales for a fan convention that might revive their careers – until it doesn't. "A sharply self-aware reunion comedy, this film hilariously skewers fame, fandom, and second chances as four former breakout stars descend on Wales chasing relevance — and find far more chaos than a comeback." It stars Martin Freeman, Malin Akerman, Josh Hutcherson, & Jess Weixler (from Teeth). This looks like it has some clever moments in how it makes fun of romcoms and how realistic they can often times be. // Continue Reading ›

Go Back to High School in 'Never Change!' Hulu Comedy Movie Trailer
"I've changed." "People never change!" Hulu has revealed the official trailer for a comedy film titled Never Change!, arriving to watch streaming on Hulu and Disney+ this month. Instead of a new series with many new episodes, this film is a one-off, 98 minute comedy to enjoy anytime. Made by comedy filmmaker Marty Schousboe as another kooky nostalgia concept. Former high school seniors reunite in their 30s to complete their education after a tornado abruptly ended their final year in 2008. As they return to the halls of North Meadows High, past relationships reignite and hidden truths surface. This kind of looks like what if The Breakfast Club group had to go back to high school to finish their studies even though they're all grown ups now. Fun times. The full cast features John Reynolds, Sofia Black-D'Elia, Carmen Christopher, Jo Firestone, and Gary Richardson; with Rudy Pankow, Topher Grace, Jackie Cruz, Ana Gasteyer, Patti Harrison, and Zach Cherry. Check This Out: 'The Odyssey' Popcorn Bucket is a Big IMAX Camera
"Lights...camera...popcorn!" 🍿🎥 They actually did it! IMAX just revealed their own special popcorn bucket offering for The Odyssey and it's an actual IMAX camera as a popcorn holder. Hilarious! As everyone knows, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is the first ever movie filmed entirely with IMAX cameras, which Nolan has been trying to do ever since The Dark Knight. They even invented new cameras for this project - the first is the state-of-the-art "Keighley" camera (named after one of its inventors) along with the massive filming "blimp" to put the camera inside of (to cover up loud noises IMAX film strips make while recording). "Now you can crunch in style with the limited-edition IMAX Film Camera Popcorn Bucket inspired by the legendary IMAX 15/65mm Camera, the very camera Christopher Nolan has called 'the Gold Standard' and used on films such as The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Oppenheimer, and The Odyssey. A tribute to IMAX's groundbreaking film technology & the craft of filmmaking, this collectible bucket features a viewfinder that lights up to reveal a scene from Nolan's latest epic, The Odyssey, in IMAX's exclusive 1.43:1 Expanded Aspect Ratio." I'm personally not a big fan of the popcorn bucket trend, it's mostly just plastic waste as a marketing gimmick. But I'll admit this is cool. Super clever to go with this instead of just a helmet or sword. // Continue Reading ›

Another International Trailer for 'Pressure' WWII Film About Weather
"If D-Day is cancelled, we will lose this war..." Studiocanal has revealed one final international trailer for the World War II movie titled Pressure, which is already playing in US theaters right now. Strangely it will open in the UK later in the year in September (some 4 months later after the US launch). The film tells the tense story of deciding to go forward with D-Day on June 6th, 1944 sending troops into Northwest France. In the final days before the planned Allied invasion of Europe in 1944, Royal Air Force meteorologist Cpt. James Stagg must deliver a weather report to the Allied high command on the feasibility of the planned D-Day. The weather needs to be perfect or else. This war film thriller stars Brendan Fraser as Eisenhower, Andrew Scott as Cpt. James Stagg, Kerry Condon as Cpt. Kay Summersby, Damian Lewis as Marshall Bernard Montgomery, Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick, Henry Ashton as John Eisenhower, with Con O'Neill, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Toby Williams, and Max Croes. We've posted a handful of trailers for this movie already. Fun Second Trailer for 'The Invite' Film w/ Rogen, Wilde, Cruz, Norton
"We only get a few chances for meaningful relationships in life." A24 has debuted a second trailer for The Invite, an amusing comedy-drama directed by actress Olivia Wilde – her third film after Booksmart and Don't Worry Darling. This originally premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year where it picked up some rave reviews (here's mine). It's a comedy but it's also more of a dramedy once it really gets into things and they start honestly discussing relationships & sex and what works & what doesn't. Joe and Angela's marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places. Set entirely in one apartment it follows these two couples through a night they'll both never forget. Starring Seth Rogen & Olivia Wilde as Joe & Angela and Penélope Cruz & Edward Norton as Pína & Hawk. Opening in theaters this June to start with a wide release in July. Little do they know that their new house comes with a very big catch... and they are about to find themselves trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell! All kinds of crazy creatures and horror monsters. Hold the Fort is a crowd-pleasing festival hit that was hailed as "an absolute blast" and "the horror comedy of the year" from critics. The indie horror film features Chris Mayers, Levi Burdick, Mark Ashworth, and Julian Smith. Bagley adds: "Hopefully, through all the blood, laughs, fights, and gags, you leave the film feeling inspired to tackle whatever life throws at you." Sounds wild! Seems crazy! It's definitely worth a look. // Continue Reading ›

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II & Mark Wahlberg in 'By Any Means' First Trailer
"Making people disappear does not solve the problem." Doesn't it make a difference? Paramount Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for a movie called By Any Means, a gritty crime thriller set back in the 1960s telling a true story. It's the latest feature from acclaimed filmmaker Elegance Bratton, of the films Buck, The Inspection, and the doc Move Ya Body: The Birth of House. This is set for a US release in theaters nationwide starting in September at the end of the summer. "When the system is broken, break the rules by any means." A notorious mafia hitman and a young Black FBI agent team up to investigate the murders of civil rights leaders in 1966 Mississippi. When the system is broken, two men divided by everything agree on one thing: the law has limits. They don't. What an opener! I'm ready to watch this now! Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the FBI agent & Mark Wahlberg as the mafioso, along with Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, LaChanze, Ethan Embry, David Strathairn and Giancarlo Esposito. Damn this looks legit badass! Taking out all the racist scum the best way they know how. I'm down for this. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Rescue Thriller 'Man of War' with LaMonica Garrett
"I'll do anything that needs to be done to get to Riley." Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for Man of War, a rescue mission thriller made by action filmmaker William Kaufman. This is set for a VOD release directly in July coming up this summer. Skipping theaters but it still looks like an intense action thriller to watch anyway. When an aid worker vanishes in the first hours of war in Ukraine, a former Navy SEAL & CIA operative crosses into the shattered country to bring her home-facing mercenaries, shifting battle lines, and ghosts he thought he left behind. Amid the chaos of a counter-offensive and a city collapsing into war, he must confront a Russian mercenary and make one last stand to keep the only promise that matters: Bring Riley home. Man of War stars LaMonica Garrett as former soldier Michael Connor, with Jason Patric, Andrew Howard, Linds Edwards, Daniel Bernhardt, and Rosmary Yaneva as Riley. This doesn't seem as bad as most of these recent generic VOD action movies. Looks packed with copious shootout scenes. // Continue Reading ›

Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Rafe Spall in 'Rich Flu' Virus Thriller Trailer
"Our planet is on fire. People who thought that they were untouchable – but they're not." Get a load of this. Vertical released an official US trailer for the intriguing dark thriller titled Rich Flu, an apocalyptic virus movie from Spain and the UK. You might not be surprised to learn that Rich Flu is from the same director as The Platform and The Platform 2 - the famous Spanish films criticizing greed and modern society and all of that. Yet it has taken 2 years to release. Just Laura's career peaks, a deadly virus targets the rich. As panic erupts and society turns on the 1%, she must fight to protect her family in a world where wealth becomes a death sentence. Strange plot. How does the virus know which people are rich? How does that work? It's an obvious gimmick story where the world falls apart after the rich are gone, but I also think this is why it has mixed reviews and will be dumped on VOD this month. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Laura, with Rafe Spall, Lorraine Bracco, Dixie Egerickx, César Domboy, Timothy Spall, Jonah Hauer-King. It premiered in 2024 at the Sitges Film Festival, and played at Beyond Fest & TIFF. Might be worth a look. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Hobbyhorsing Movie 'Horsegirls' with Gretchen Mol
"The world is very good at making people feel small. You're not afraid to be yourself." 🐴 Sumerian has debuted an official trailer for an indie film titled Horsegirls, a coming-of-age dramedy marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Lauren Meyering. This first premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival last summer, and it's opening in limited theaters starting in July this summer. After her mother's illness returns, 22-year-old Margarita, a young woman with autism, discovers the world of hobbyhorsing and sets out to prove her independence to her mother—stick horse and all. Hobbyhorsing is the gymnastic "sport" of riding a stick horse around. Similar movement sequences to those also featured in show jumping or dressage are partly simulated in courses, without real horses being used. It was actually popularized in Selma Vilhunen's 2017 doc film Hobbyhorse Revolution (Keppihevosten vallankumous). Horsegirls stars Lillian Carrier as Margarita, with Gretchen Mol as her mom Sandy, plus Jerrod Haynes, Tony Hale, Matthew Schwab, and Iqbal Theba. This looks amusing and wholesome – a good story about finding joy and holding onto it. // Continue Reading ›

Adria Arjona Blasts Killing Machines in 'Onslaught' Sci-Fi Action Trailer
"Don't be afraid, we're your government." Ha ha – holy crap! A24 has unveiled the official trailer for the killer sci-fi action movie called Onslaught, arriving in theaters starting in September later this year. This is a throwback to the gnarly movie The Guest - created by director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett in 2014. Now 12 years later the duo has reteamed for a very similar story. It's described as pretty much like "Sarah Connor versus Jason Voorhees" which sounds like a good time. A mom in a trailer park struggles to protect her family from a threat that has escaped from a secret military facility. "Go to your room, get under your bed. Momma needs to get her guns!" Hit Man's breakout Adria Arjona stars as a badass Army sniper who must unleash hell to protect her young daughter when genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert. Gnarly! Along with Arjona, it also stars Dan Stevens (also in The Guest), Eric Wareheim, Reginald VelJohnson, Michael Biehn, Alex Pereira, Drew Starkey, plus Rebecca Hall. Well, this looks totally awesome! Some fresh, new inventive original action to enjoy later this year. Check it out below. // Continue Reading ›

Taye Diggs & Tamar Braxton in Tubi Thriller 'Stepfather' Official Trailer
"I thought you were different..." Tubi has revealed the official trailer for an indie thriller titled Stepfather, arriving to watch streaming on Tubi (for free!) starting in June later in the month. Yet another low budget, extra cheesy new thriller to watch online anytime – or skip entirely. A desperate man hunts for the perfect family, but when his new wife and daughters fear he may just be deranged, escaping him will have deadly consequences. The film relies on psychological tension, teasing mounting suspicion inside the home as Asia realizes the man she married is hiding deadly secrets. Stepfather stars Taye Diggs and Tamar Braxton in the main roles, with Kalani Jules, Jessica Jarrell, Janeline Hayes, Dante Brown, Troy Brookins, TJ Shaw, Koda Kalani Beschen, and Elizabeth Dantus. This is suspiciously similar to the other direct-to-VOD thriller The Step Daddy with an eerily similar premise about a naughty step dad. Huh. Not sure it will be any good. // Continue Reading ›

Cannes 2026: 'Jim Queen' is a Super Fun Animated Parisian Adventure
It's so much fun to see a film push back against the macho man culture taking over the world again now. The delightfully amusing film Jim Queen is one of the handful of prestigious animated premieres at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. The fest programmed it as a Midnight screening premiere – which is the perfect place for it. It's destined to become a cult classic, though with the right push and some good buzz it might end up becoming a full-on animated hit in theaters. Jim Queen is the epitome of an "adult" animated movie – one that is designed for adults and is definitely not a cartoon meant for kids; no way, not by a long shot. But it's also about a very adult topic which should stir up discussions anyway. The story follows a closeted gay twink in Paris named Lucien, who just so happens to be the son of a major French politician. When his favorite super popular gay influencer, Jim Queen, loses his status because a mysterious illness is taking over the entire city, Lucien emerges to find him and save him and set the world straight again – er rather, gay, again. // Continue Reading ›

Opening in theaters at the end of June soon! Get your tickets & get ready for an emotional adventure. Kara celebrates her 21st birthday by travelling across the galaxy with her dog Krypto. Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, with Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, as well as Jason Momoa as Lobo (who doesn't appear in either of these). "We are taking you so much deeper into the Minecraft world. New biomes, new characters, and of course, new mobs along with some of favorites – like these creepers." They're back! Warner Bros & Minecraft have revealed a behind-the-scenes first look teaser for the next A Minecraft Movie sequel due out in July 2027. During a Minecraft Live broadcast today, the two stars Jack Black & Jason Momoa appeared together from the set down in New Zealand. Aside from teasing the highly anticipated video game movie sequel, they also revealed the official title: A Minecraft Movie Squared. Instead of A Minecraft Movie 2 or the other A Minecraft Sequel. "We've revealed the title of our sequel to A Minecraft Movie... and some of the celebrity talent that will help make it awesome, including Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Kirsten Dunst, and Danielle Brookes." The company behind the game series, Mojang Studios, also revealed a contest connected with the movie. The winning build from the game will appear in the movie (though maybe only in the end credits) along with private screenings for finalists. Full Trailer for Uwe Boll's Thriller 'Citizen Vigilante' w/ Armie Hammer
"I'm here to help you take that control back." Quiver has revealed the official trailer for an action thriller titled Citizen Vigilante, the controversial new film from German B-movie filmmaker Uwe Boll. His next since First Shift a few years ago, this movie also stars the controversial, cancelled actor Armie Hammer attempting to make a comeback. I'm not posting this in support of the movie or anyone involved in it – only to say here is the trailer for this and you can decide on your own what to make of it. The movie follows the vigilante Sanders, an American now living in Zagreb, who takes justice into his own hands and hunts down criminals. While Sanders gains more & more fame, and the public sees him as a hero, Interpol chief Henry (co-starring Costas Mandylor) believes he is a threat to society and is circling in on him. Heralded by Boll as "an action film inspired by real events, based on real cases and a commentary about injustice," the story centers on a wealthy American businessman who becomes both a hunted fugitive & unlikely viral sensation. Hammer & Mandylor star with other local actors filling the rest of the cast. This is getting a direct-to-VOD release in June this summer if anyone wants to actually watch it. Has Cannes Lost Its Touch? Nope - They've Still Got the Best Films
Are film festivals still important? How relevant are they nowadays? Is there something strange going on with film festivals worldwide that no one is talking about? These are some of the prominent questions on my mind in 2026 as the year rattles on. From Sundance to Berlinale to SXSW to Cannes and eventually right to Telluride/TIFF/Venice in the fall, there's always another edition of each festival to look forward to coming up. The 2026 Cannes Film Festival just concluded in France, celebrating its 79th year in 2026, with an exciting jubilee 80th anniversary celebration coming up in 2027. But was it a good year in Cannes? Did they even play any good films? I've read some reports from outsiders who were not at the festival saying that they think it was an unexciting and mostly muted year in Cannes – not that many breakout films, not much that actually sounds exciting to watch. Well, I'm here to say they're wrong. There ARE a handful of outstanding films from Cannes this year. Though perhaps not as many as usual. So there is some truth to their claim, and the Cannes 2026 was a bit lackluster overall, however I still believe that Cannes remains the king (or is it the queen?) of film festivals. They've still got all the best films, they're still programming many iconic all-timer cinematic creations, and they're still the vital place where it cinema history happens in May year after year. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Doc 'Groundswell' All About Rethinking Agriculture
"Farm by farm, we can actually heal the entire world." Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for a documentary film titled simply Groundswell, arriving to watch streaming on Prime Video this June. This just premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival as a Special Screening – it's rare a documentary ever gets a good spot at this festival. Groundswell is the stirring final chapter of a groundbreaking documentary trilogy following Kiss the Ground and Common Ground, a sweeping cinematic journey across 5 continents narrated by Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson. At the heart of this film is regeneration, a practical and proven set of farming practices that build living soil, store vast amounts of carbon deep underground, and produce more nutrient-dense food on the same acre of land. It is measurable. Across the globe, farmers, scientists, Indigenous leaders, & visionaries are already proving it at scale, quietly reversing 3 interconnected crises racing toward humanity: climate change, species extinction, and catastrophic soil loss. The film highlights a positive chance for real change: a groundswell of hope and a living blueprint for global renewal. This seems like another must see doc for anyone wondering how to rethink agriculture in order to truly heal the planet. // Continue Reading ›

Watch: Heartfelt Short 'Healing Hands' About a Boy Losing His Hearing
"I wanted to make you and Mommy happy with me!" Omeleto has debuted a lovely little short film called Healing Hands, made by filmmaker Jordan Ochel, and it's worth a watch. After playing at film festivals over the last year, it's now available online for everyone to enjoy. Healing Hands is a 14-minute short film about a deaf boy longing for acceptance who finds himself in a situation that will change his understanding of what it means to be "complete." This tender, empathetic story is a portrait of a little boy coming to terms with himself. "Told with a luminous, composed visual naturalism, it has a sure-handed focus and sensitivity in how the storytelling immerses us in Jonah's world and subjectivity, and a respect for how he & his family approach Jonah's journey from denial to acceptance." Starring Alexander Campos III as Jonah. The story is based on the writer / director's own personal experiences growing up. There have been a bunch of superb films about Deafness recently, better to see more because many people still need to learn. "It's okay to let people know you." Brainstorm Media has unveiled the official trailer for another fun indie romantic comedy film titled 40 Dates and 40 Nights, arriving to watch in June this summer. The title is a spin on the other fun romcom movie from 2002 called 40 Days and 40 Nights, which had Josh Hartnett & Shannyn Sossamon. This time it's a different premise about a girl trying out 40 dates in rapid succession. Burned out on dating and ready to quit, Leah accepts her grandma's outrageous challenge: 40 dates in 40 nights and if she completes this she'll pay her rent for a year. From awkward dinners to unexpected sparks, she discovers the biggest obstacle to love might be herself. "Love doesn't happen overnight... it takes time." Starring Bailee Madison (from "Pretty Little Liars") as Leah, Joel Courtney as a nice boy, Annie Potts as grandma, Jai Rodriguez, Jack Schumacher, Luxy Banner, Eric Nelsen, plus tons of forgettable guys. The film is a fun, modern rom-com with lots of heart and humor, offering a relatable take on today's dating culture. This originally premiered in 2024 at the Rome Film Fest, where it won the Audience Award as well as Special Jury Prize. It also played at numerous other festivals but isn't getting a full release in US theaters until this year. In revolutionary Iran, as fundamentalists tighten their grip on society, a professor secretly gathers a handful of her most dedicated female students from her university to read and discuss forbidden classics of Western literature, including Lolita and Pride & Prejudice. Starring Golshifteh Farahani as Azar Nafisi, Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Mina Kavani, Reza Diako, Arash Marandi, Catayoune Ahmadi, & Sina Parvaneh. Sony Pictures Classics has unveiled the full official trailer for the totally bonkers all-out comedy Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, the latest creation from Wet Hot American Summer director David Wain. This actually premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It's one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen, but that's also the entire point (so dumb it's fun), following this young woman on a wacky adventure around Los Angeles. When her fiancé uses their "celebrity pass" agreement to sleep with his fave celeb, small town bride Gail Daughtry travels to Hollywood seeking revenge by pursuing her own celebrity encounter. Her goal: to find and sleep with Jon Hamm. Off she goes, joining forces with a talent agency assistant, a paparazzo, and actor John Slattery, all in the search of this actor. Cannes 2026: 'Everytime' is a Boldly Cinematic Unique Take on Grief
A fresh new vision of cinema unfolds in front of our eyes. Emerging from the cinema, you will never see the world the same way again. Wow. This here is real, profound, bold cinema. It left me totally shaken, boasting a handful of entirely unforgettable shots (you'll notice them as soon as they arrive). Everytime is the latest feature from acclaimed Austrian filmmaker Sandra Wollner, a remarkably vibrant new take on grief and how it shatters the world around us. Everytime won the main award in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, standing out for so many reasons. It deserves this prize and plenty others. I'm also not the only one saying this film should've been in the festival's Main Competition, it's really that good. Then more people would've been able to watch it and start talking about it and discussing everything in the second half because WHOA. This is a serious conversation-starter film – in a good way. Cannes 2026: 'A Girl Unknown' is a Heartbreaking, Masterful Debut
One of the standout debuts hidden within the 2026 Cannes Film Festival emerged from the Critics' Week (Semaine de la Critique) sidebar: Chinese director Zou Jing's film titled A Girl Unknown. It chronicles the life of Wang Juan (starring Cao Ruofan), tracing her journey from a rural childhood to city adulthood as she is shuffled through three different foster families. In her masterful debut, Zou tackles the profoundly painful legacy of China's demographic policies—a policy that left deep intergenerational scars. The narrative takes place throughout the 1980s and '90s, right at the peak of the so-called one-child policy. Women were subjected to compulsory sterilizations and forced abortions, often late in their pregnancies. Families daring to violate the rule faced crushing fines, job terminations, and the stripping of social benefits. It wasn't until 2015 that the Chinese government officially abolished the policy. Her ordeal begins at age 6 following the death of her loving father. Her mother uproots her from their rural home into the big city, leaving her in the care of a grieving friend who hopes the young girl might be a replacement for her own deceased daughter. // Continue Reading ›

"In reality, life in the Medieval Ages was a brutal fight for survival." Indeed it was. Which is exactly why Robin had to fight back with sword & arrow. A24 has revealed another new promo featurette for The Death of Robin Hood, a re-imaginging of this classic legend of the English folk hero. Was he really a hero or just a killer? Cannes 2026: James Gray's Low Key NYC Crime Thriller 'Paper Tiger'
This is the story of two brothers in the big city, and their undoing thanks to their ambition to make some extra money on top. James Gray's latest film is a New York City crime thriller titled Paper Tiger, which just premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in the Main Competition vying for the Palme d'Or. It didn't take home a single award at the end of the festival, though that doesn't really mean it isn't a worthwhile film anyway. It's a low key thriller that never reaches a boil, bordering on being pure drama throughout, though it's bolstered by an undercurrent of tension simmering beneath the entire narrative. It's a solid film overall that is enhanced by Adam Driver's terrific performance as the knows-everyone-businessman brother Gary. And it's worth watching just for Driver alone to get a glimpse at how complex & composed his character is. Though far from being a truly terrific new feature, James Gray continues to show that he's best at telling low key, refined, focused stories about multifaceted individuals caught up in sticky situations they can't control. // Continue Reading ›

20th Anniversary Trailer for Ferrell & Reilly's 'Talladega Nights' Movie
"If you ain't first, you're last." Preach, Ricky! 🏁 Sony Pictures has revealed a quick new trailer for the 20th anniversary celebration of the sports comedy classic Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, the hilarious Adam McKay + Judd Apatow racing movie originally from 2006. This was a big hit back then, McKay's major follow-up to Anchorman, though with a very particular NASCAR racing flavor to it (that not everyone was into it – but they were missing out). Will Ferrell stars as the titular Rocky Bobby, who stays atop the heap thanks to a "win at all costs" pact with his best friend and teammate, Cal Naughton, Jr. But when a French Formula One driver makes his way up the racing ladder, Ricky Bobby's talent and devotion are put to the test.
