83rd Venice Film Festival Selection - Affleck, Herzog, Gibney, Zeller
The Venice Film Festival, known officially in Italian as Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia, has officially announced its selection of films playing at the historic film festival in 2026. Celebrating their 83rd year (the oldest fest in the world) in 2026, Venezia is serving up a rather intriguing selection of new films to enjoy – though this year's line-up is quite unimpressive and lacking any real excitement. Venice 2026 runs from September 2nd to September 12th in just a few months. A few of the highlights include some major premieres that have been on our radar: Danny Boyle's new film Ink on creating a tabloid newspaper in the UK; Werner Herzog's latest film Bucking Fastard starring both of the Mara sisters; Koreeda's manga movie Look Back; The Father director Florian Zeller's Bunker, Martin McDonagh's Wild Horse Nine; Alex Gibney's Musk doc; and others that seem promising. Along with, of course, many of other movies to discover when they premiere on the Lido in Venice in a few months. I'll be there again as always for this fall festival to watch and report back on all the new films. I'm already looking forward to diving into screenings all day, every day, to find the best of the best. Full Venice 2026 list below. // Continue Reading ›

Conservation Doc 'A Paradise Lost' Trailer - Saving a Hawaiian Bird
"What species has the right to exist?" An official trailer has debuted for an inspirational documentary film titled A Paradise Lost, made by artist / filmmaker Laurie Sumiye. An Animated Hawaiian Bird weaves an epic tale as the first animal to sue humans to prevent their extinction, amidst threats of climate change, fire, and sheep. This doc is about conservation and a fight to save animals from extinction. Ready for theatrical release soon, along with a debut on PBS this year. A Paradise Lost is a timely fable from the Bird Extinction Capital of the World about the plight of a rare yellow bird at the heart of Palila v. Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, a landmark lawsuit in 1979 where an endangered animal took humans to court to prevent extinction. A stuffed palila stood in the courtroom as lead plaintiff, becoming a symbol for native species fighting for their right to exist against introduced sheep & goats invading their island home. With a blend of interviews, archival, vérité, animation, the film poetically weaves non-human perspectives of nature, and interconnected stories of life, death, rebirth and recovery. Yep sounds good, I want to watch! Starring Kalā Lindsey-Asing, Michael Sherwood, Marjorie Ziegler + Kaipo Schwab as the Voice of Ānuenue. // Continue Reading ›

First Trailer for Chris Rock's Film 'Misty Green' Starring Rosalind Eleazar
"You're not exactly an unknown, Misty... Don't act like you never had a shot!" A24 revealed their official trailer for Misty Green, the new film written & directed by Chris Rock (directing his fourth film so far). This comes hot on the heels this week of news that the world premiere will be at TIFF 2026 this September, though no final release date from A24 yet. Years after her Hollywood breakthrough, a talented actress whose career has stalled fights for her second act. The film is said to "brilliantly satirize the bigotry and hustle at the heart of Hollywood." Starring Slow Horses' Rosalind Eleazar as Misty, Chris Rock, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, Kelli Garner, Rich Sommer, Amy Landecker, Anthony Anderson, and Tracie Thoms as Rhonda. It reminds me of last year's Jay Kelly at first glance, a similar story about making a comeback in Hollywood. A handful of fascinating characters in this and a top notch supporting cast to round things out. Definitely one to keep an eye out for arriving in fall! Take a look. // Continue Reading ›

"Sally, I hear something. Stop!" Dark Sky Films & Fathom have announced that August 18th is officially Texas Chain Saw Day, in honor of the original release of the horror classic back in the 70s. It first opened in theaters in October 1974. The recent 4K restoration of this horror was re-released back in 2024 already (here's that trailer). Partain, Edwin Neal, Jim Siedow, Gunnar Hansen. For the 2026 Texas Chain Saw Day, B-D reports that it will also include an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette exploring the painstaking art of rotoscoping, the century-old animation technique. The film is being fully animated using rotoscoping (no AI, all by hand) by director Paul Beck (A Scanner Darkly, Apollo 10-1/2) for a fresh new take on this classic. "Somebody was in the house... she looked like you." Universal Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for the horror movie Other Mommy, the latest creation from genre mastermind Rob Savage (director of Host, Dashcam, The Boogeyman). This trailer has been scaring the crap out of moviegoers playing in front of The Odyssey this past weekend. Bela, an 8-year-old girl living in a home with marital problems, confronts a sinister entity that comes out of her closet that looks exactly like her mother. The presence, who she calls "Other Mommy," becomes increasingly threatening to her and her family. Oscar winner Jessica Chastain stars in dual roles as Bela's mother and as the "Other Mommy," a manifestation of the entity. Jay Duplass plays Daddo, Bela's father, and Arabella Olivia Clark plays Bela. The cast includes Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and screen legend Karen Allen. This is actually adapted from the book titled "Incidents Around the House" written by Josh Malerman, turned into this movie by freaky filmmaker Rob Savage. This has some fun jump scares in it and Chastain's performance is clever & freaky. Another horror hit incoming. // Continue Reading ›

First Trailer for 'Apollo Has Fallen' Starring Tewfik Jallab & Ritu Arya
"When chaos looms, trust is the deadliest weapon." Studiocanal has revealed the first official trailer for a new action thriller series titled Apollo Has Fallen, ready for a streaming release later this year. This is the next continuation of the Has Fallen series, which started with 3 movies (Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, Angel Has Fallen) and continued with the French action series Paris Has Fallen back in 2024. Zara and Vincent return for an explosive new installment – made in English. International actors Tewfik Jallab & Ritu Arya co-star as Vincent & Zara – the stakes have gone global. Trust is fragile, danger is everywhere, and the next chapter. A hijacking causes Europe to be threatened by a deadly virus. From the Libyan coast to the streets of Madrid, this heart-pounding thriller will keep viewers on the edge of their seats throughout and guessing until the very last moment. The cast this time includes Jacek Koman, Richard Dormer, Charlotte Spencer, Arthur Darvill, Annabel Scholey, Aylin Tezel. Watch: Horror Short 'The Cost of Flesh' Shot in the Reflection in an Eye
"Don't worry, if it goes too far I'll stop everything." Uh oh! This sounds bad! This horror short is another clever exercise in cinematic creativity through minimal filmmaking. The Cost of Flesh is a 10 minute short film made by French filmmaker Tomas Palombi, getting into making shorts are tons of other music videos. Au prix de la chair (in French) premiered at numerous film festivals in 2024 and has been playing on the fest circuit for the past few years. Now it's online - ready to scare everyone! A paralyzed teenage girl can only communicate through the movements of her eyes. Desperate to cure her, her brother and sister turn to an obscure magical ritual – which they hope will free her from the evil that is hindering her. Starring Nayla Berrada as the eye with a freaky eye performance you won't ever forget. The short is B&W and features one shot of her eye with everything happening in the room via her reflection. It obviously reminds any cinephile of the infamously iconic eye slitting shot from the French classic Un Chien Andalou (1929). The terror also comes from the dialogue & what's happening in the room without an ability to control any of it. View below. // Continue Reading ›

Watch: 'The Odyssey' Main Cast + Nolan Peruse the Paris Video Club
"That's mine. I picked that. Ninja Turtles, yes." Yes indeed, Charlize! Konbini debuted their The Odyssey promo visit Video Club video to watch online – where they stop by this old video store in Paris. This time they got the entire cast into the video store for a discussion. Usually it's just one filmmaker at a time (Chris visited back in 2023 with Cillian), but for The Odyssey PR they were able to get Christopher Nolan, Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, and Charlize Theron to visit and talk about their favorite movies. I enjoy these series because it's just one big geek out session where you learn a lot about the kind of movies these actors love themselves. Anne Hathaway goes long on My Cousin Vinny and Marisa Tomei's performance in it. They also bring up Avatar. Charlize reveals she's a huge fan of the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie (me too). Lupita Nyong'o talks about Jackie Chan. Zendaya (+ Charlize) talk about how much they adore Pixar's Coco. Tom Holland discusses making The Impossible and his love of the 1996 movie Primal Fear with Edward Norton. With three different groups, this video runs almost an hour in total! But it's a fun must watch for movie geeks of all ages. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

First Trailer for Microbudget 'The Peril at Pincer Point' Adventure Film
"The signs? Your soul has been marked – and he will come to collect." An official trailer has debuted for an intriguing indie creation known as The Peril at Pincer Point, made by the filmmaking duo Jake Kuhn & Noah Stratton-Twine. This first premiered at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival a few months back, where it won the NEON Auteur Award. "Experience the defining (and perhaps only) crustaceous comedy of a generation with" this trailer for a nautical odyssey. On a quest to prove his competency, an inert sound recordist finds himself entangled in a nautical prophecy on the spectral island of Pincer Point. He hears tale of a legend and sets out to record a ghost ship. This unique microbudget film stars Jack Redmayne as Jim, Alyth Ross, Os Leanse, Mike Mackenzie, Dashiell Upton, Jason Hogan, Mat Wright, Noah Stratton-Twine, Isobel Laidler, & Oliver Woolf. Described as an "offbeat, surrealist" comedy sporting a distinct vintage visual style to immerse in this story. KVIFF 2026: Trine Dyrholm & Simon Bennebjerg in 'The Guest' Drama
Yet another story of a fractured family trying to reconcile years later. Yet another story of a family unable to actually reconcile despite being in the middle of a beautiful moment moving forard. But that's life for you, right? That's the truth about most families these days. While it is getting a bit cliche to see, it is still a brave act to make a film about a family and share all the ugly, rotten, uncomfortable sides of it. Sometimes laying it all bare and addressing all this trouble directly is the only way to really figure out how to move forward. But this doesn't always work, does it? The Guest (aka Gæsten) is a Danish family drama made by Danish filmmaker Mads Mengel as his first feature film after a few other TV series recently. The film had its world premiere at the 2026 Karlovy Vary Film Festival, where it won the Best Director Award for filmmaker Mads Mengel and also the Special Jury Prize. I was also at the KVIFF world premiere, honored to sit & watch this film at its initial unveiling. Incredible True Story Pakistani Rescue Doc 'Hanging by a Wire' Trailer
"To see them hanging up there, it brought it home so vividly." Abramorama has revealed their first official trailer for the intensely riveting documentary film titled Hanging by a Wire, telling the harrowing true story of a mid-air rescue in Pakistan. This doc initially premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (I saw it there) and it has also played at other fests including Seattle, Sydney, Tribeca. When a makeshift cable car system malfunctions deep in the Pakistani Himalayas, 8 people including 6 students are trapped high above a valley. As time runs out before the final cable fails, rescue teams work against the clock to save the stranded passengers. It's a story about how the government – both local and national – handled the situation, and how the rescue played out, with all the frightening details about what did and what didn't work. It's an incredible doc! I've seen it! Yes everything is fine and everyone makes it out safely. But it's also kind of tragic depicting the social & economic realities of life in Pakistan and especially rural areas like the mountains where this event occurred. It's told from the POV of Gollum, set before and during the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, leading up to the Company of the Ring entering the Mines of Moria (which is of course where they first encounter Gollum in those movies). The movie's cast features Andy Serkis as Gollum / Sméagol, Ian McKellen back as Gandalf the Grey, Kate Winslet as Marigol, Jamie Dornan as Strider, Leo Woodall as Halvard, Lee Pace as Thranduil, Anya Taylor-Joy as the Sindar Elf Seren, plus the original Elijah Wood returning again as Frodo Baggins. Serkis said he couldn't put Frodo in this movie if it wasn't Elijah back. I really, really hope this one turns out good. Even though in my opinion we still don't need to try and make more of these, I am feeling much more confident with Serkis and Jackson and everyone handling this one. Stay tuned for more updates – it's set for release starting in December 2027 next year. Filming now. // Continue Reading ›

New US Trailer for Belgian Love Story 'Julian' Starring Nina Meurisse
"What if we got married everywhere?" Strand Releasing debuted the official US trailer for the film Julian, made by Belgian filmmaker Cato Kusters as her feature debut. This first premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival last year and already hit theaters in Belgium last fall. Produced by fellow Belgian filmmaker Lukas Dhont, based on the memoir "Julian" written by Fleur Pierets. Fleur and Julian fall madly in love and decide to get married in all of the countries where they, as two women, are allowed to do so. After only four marriages, their journey comes to a painful and unexpected halt. Described as "an impressive, understated directorial debut about love, loss and the bravery required to keep trying to live in an unfair world." Starring Nina Meurisse as Fleur & Laurence RootHooft as the titular Julian. Other reviews are very positive, saying: "Julian invites us not just to witness this love, but to feel it, carry it, and recognize the injustice that made such a project necessary in the first place." Sounds great! And this footage looks very passionate and extra intense following this couple around. Opens in the US in limited art house theaters soon this summer. // Continue Reading ›

First Look Featurette for 'Tony' Young Chef Film with Dominic Sessa
"Bourdan's life shows us; you can live right on the edge & learn so much from the failures, that it creates you." A24 has revealed a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Tony, made by brilliant Canadian filmmaker Matt Johnson (following Operation Avalanche, BlackBerry, and Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie). Ready for release in August during the summer. This film is about the real life chef / author / TV personality Anthony Bourdain, best known as the iconic host of travel program "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown" on CNN. Dominic Sessa (from The Holdovers) star as the young Tony during his early years. The movie takes place back in 1976, when a young Bourdain had a life-changing experience working as a line chef in Provincetown, MA – which became the basis of his book "Kitchen Confidential". It follows Bourdain, angsty aspiring writer, as he pursues a girl who eventually draws him into the culinary world. This stars Sessa as "Tony", Emilia Jones, Dagmara Domińczyk, Rich Sommer, Stavros Halkias, Leo Woodall, with Antonio Banderas. So far so good, I'm enjoying all of this footage and these behind-the-scenes glimpses. Plus I'm always excited to watch any new movie made by Matt Johnson. It will be out in theaters very soon. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Buddy Comedy 'Mayday' with Reynolds & Branagh
"Where'd you learn to fight like that?" "None of us escape what we are..." Apple TV unveiled their official trailer for a funny throwback-to-the-Cold-War buddy comedy movie called Mayday, ready for release on Apple TV streaming this September. It's the next new comedy by the two filmmakers behind the acclaimed movies Game Night and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. This time they're heading deep into Russia. Ryan Reynolds stars as pilot Lt. Troy "Assassin" Kelly, whose SR-71 Blackbird jet is shot down in Soviet territory. But before anything bad can happen, he's rescued by the Russian ex-KGB Nikolai Ustinov, played by Kenneth Branagh, who actually likes America and takes him in. Next thing you know they end up friends, but they also end up on the run trying to get Troy back to safety, so the Americans can rescue him. It's a nice Russian & American team-up get-into-tons-of-trouble comedy to enjoy right at the end of the summer. Along with Reynolds & Branagh, the cast also includes Marcin Doroncinski, Maria Bakalova, and David Morse. These directors always know how to come up with some truly fresh, wild and hilarious humor in ridiculous situations and this looks like serious fun. Should also play in theaters not just on Apple. // Continue Reading ›

First Teaser for 'Crystal Lake' - A New 'Friday the 13th' Prequel Series
"There's something in these woods... and all it knows how to do is kill." A24 presents a new horror series ready for streaming this fall - Crystal Lake, a prequel series to Friday the 13th, following a doomed small town where camp counselors come to die. Peacock will be debuting the first 8 episodes of this new series for streaming starting in October in the fall - during the horror season. It is a prequel to the original 1980 film that kicked off the franchise and stars Linda Cardellini in the leading role of Pamela Voorhees, Callum Vinson as a young Jason Voorhees, along with William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Phoenix Parnevik, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. The actually went back and filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Blairstown, New Jersey, the exact same camp location and town used in the 1980 original film - really connecting it all back to the first Friday the 13th. After a grand total of 11 sequels in the F13 Jason series so far, do we really need to go back and make a prequel? Why is this necessary? But with A24 producing and a talented team behind it, this might actually turn out pretty good anyway. A quick first look at some footage. // Continue Reading ›

First Trailer for 'Once Upon a Time in a Cinema' Comedy from Ireland
"The cinema brings them together for an experience that's so much more than the picture." Myriad Pictures has revealed the official trailer for an indie throwback comedy called Once Upon a Time in a Cinema, about one wild unforgettable night at a small-town cinema in 1984. It already premiered at the 2026 Dublin Film Festival earlier in the year and opened in Ireland in cinemas back in May. The US release is supposed to be coming up later this year, though not sure when exactly. A beleaguered cinema owner's worst Friday night becomes his crowning moment of glory when a packed show descends into chaos and also unites the community. Told in real-time during the 8PM movie playing (Breathless starring Richard Gere). Filmed on location in Limerick, Ireland, a cinema owner wrestles with the legacy of the past and the challenges of the future in a drama that is funny, wise and rings of authenticity. Starring Irish actor Colin Morgan as Earl Clancy, the cinema manager, along with Calam Lynch, Clara Crichton, India Mullen, Niamh Cusack, Stanley Townsend, Elaine O'Dwyer, Daniel Woodage, Liam O'Brien, and Ryan Burke. Renate Reinsve & Helene Bjørneby in Norwegian Film 'Butterfly' Trailer
"I think we live in two very separate realities." 🇳🇴 🏝️ Palace Films has revealed the first official trailer for a Norwegian indie dark comedy titled Butterfly, an intriguing story about estranged sisters who must come together on the Canary Islands to deal with their very peculiar mother's legacy. This first premiered at the 2026 Rotterdam Film Festival earlier this year and has a Norwegian release set for September. The trailer is mostly in English as this is how the two sisters communicate – since they grew up in elsewhere. The brilliant Renate Reinsve leads Itonje Søimer Guttormsen’s Butterfly, an intriguing and mystical drama about two estranged sisters who reunite in Gran Canaria after the sudden, mysterious death of their mother. This co-stars Helene Bjørneby as his sister and Numan Acar. The sisters meet again in Gran Canaria after their parents' deaths, only to inherit an unfinished resort & esoteric retreat. Through the strange and the sincere, Guttormsen explores the stories we construct about ourselves and the ones we avoid. It seems super kooky and extra strange, a very Norwegian indie creation about how weird life can be for some people. Take a look. // Continue Reading ›

Forelock is an indie dark comedy created & written by & directed by & starring actor Caleb Alexander Smith. The film originally premiered at the 2025 Austin Film Festival last year but hasn't been picked up for any release yet. Worth a look anyway. "2 Men. 1 lock of hair. 72 suburbs in search of a city." A fitness enthusiast looks for a fresh start in Los Angeles, but collides with a Hollywood Boulevard grifter who exploits his uncanny resemblance to the world's most famous superhero (Superman) - starring Caleb Alexander Smith in that role as the lookalike. KVIFF 2026: 'Black Money for White Nights' is a Worthwhile Discovery
Another discovery from within the 2026 Karlovy Vary Film Festival line-up this year is this Bulgarian indie film titled Black Money for White Nights, made by the Bulgarian filmmaker duo Kristina Grozeva & Petar Valchanov. It's a worthwhile feature that can & should reach audiences around the world, not just a few cinephiles at festivals, and I hope it connects to viewers well beyond Europe. The film is about a middle-aged Bulgarian couple whose vacation dream plans fall apart when the war in Ukraine begins in early 2022. It's a tragicomedy, featuring some very dark humor if you can laugh at their sad situation, but it's also pretty much just a heartbreaking full-on tragedy looking at how greedy and destructive the world is. As with many great films, even though the story is specific to Bulgaria and this couple's existence, it's a universal tale with themes that everyone will understand & related to, mainly about how humanity is so obsessed with money they everyone lives on the brink of despair & hopelessness unless they throw out their own morals, too. The exceptional lead performances by the two actors who play Marina & Gosha are what make this film special. Their nuance, their clarity, their heartfelt humanity, is a key part of this film's ability to connect so deeply. // Continue Reading ›

New Trailer for Serial Killer Film 'Manhunter: The Final Cut' 4K Update
"He's after you now, isn't he?" Studiocanal has revealed the official trailer for the 4K re-release of the serial killer thriller classic Manhunter, celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year after first opening in 1986 (a box office bomb at the time). This new version is called Manhunter: The Final Cut, an updated edit from director Michael Mann. He explains his vision for "The Final Cut": "Not only restore it to its former glory but to utilize new technology to create an experience as visceral for audiences in 2026 as the original was in 1986. 'If the picture was left the way it was, it would be interesting, but you'd feel some distance... You'd be observing it somewhat. I'm more interested in its original intent impacting you the same way it may have in 1986... that is, to bring you into it again in the original way.'" In the movie, based on the "Red Dragon" book, former FBI profiler Will Graham returns to service to pursue a deranged serial killer dubbed "the Tooth Fairy" by the media. The "pulsating, cutting-edge" thriller returns to theaters in a breathtaking 4K restoration supervised by Mann. Starring William Petersen, Kim Greist, Joan Allen, Brian Cox, Dennis Farina, Stephen Lang, and Tom Noonan as Dollarhyde. Of course this looks better than ever now – a must watch for fans of serial killer films. I'm curious to see what makes it "The Final Cut" this time. // Continue Reading ›

KVIFF 2026: 'Learning to Breathe Under Water' Starring Rory Kinnear
What does it take to crawl out of a deep, dark depressed spurred on by overwhelming grief? Perhaps a bit of happiness and joy, perhaps a new friendship, perhaps someone to pull you out of the darkness even if you don't want to come back to the light. That beautiful, important person may end up being someone you least expect, perhaps even a complete stranger. Learning to Breathe Under Water is the newest film made by British filmmaker Rebekah Fortune, yet another entry in the growing super depressed widowed dads subgenre. An extension of the Sad Dads subgenre of cinema, defined most recently by Aftersun, these kind of movies are about fathers struggling to deal with their lives as parents without the mother being around to help out. Learning to Breathe Under Water is very similar to the other widowed sad dad British movie The Thing With Feathers with Benedict Cumberbatch, but thankfully it's much better (I was not a big fan of that one). This one left me feeling actually enthusiastic by the end, and it's so much more vibrant and uplifting, which is important even if it's a sad story being told. Less doom & gloom, more breakfasts & laughs please. // Continue Reading ›

"Two heads. One soul. A witch's endless rage." LIV Worldwide has unveiled the official trailer for She Saw Us, an indie horror film marking the feature debut of filmmaker James Night. It's currently set for release in limited theaters this September – just before the October horror season begins. "She's always watching." When four friends on a trip to make a documentary discover a cursed two-headed doll in this remote forest, they unleash a vengeful witch who traps them in a place from which no one has ever escaped. She Saw Us is described as "blending atmospheric landscapes with themes of fear, memory, and the paranormal." Shot in the UK as an entirely British production, exploring the thin line between reality and the unknown. She Saw Us stars Nad Sham, Anna Warke, Emma Hutchings, and Eddie Manning as the four friends. Doesn't seem like there's much in it that is truly interesting or unsettling, but horror fans should take a look anyway. // Continue Reading ›

Dark & Powerful Full Trailer for Villeneuve's 'Dune: Part Three' Sequel
"Peace is a good thing... Why should I refuse?" "Because it's meant to destroy you." Whoa! He really went & did it! This really is the Return of the King finale of the Dune series. Warner Bros has launched the main official trailer for Dune: Part Three, which is ready for release in December 2026 at the end of this year - only two years after Dune: Part Two hit theaters in March 2024. Looking better than ever! The story follows Muad'dib, heir to unimaginable power, as he brings to fruition the scheme to create a superbeing ruler among men, not in the heavens. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, written by Villeneuve & Brian K. Vaughan, Dune: Part Three is based on the novel "Dune Messiah" by Frank Herbert and delivers the epic conclusion to Villeneuve’s trilogy. Even darker, even more berserk, even more brutal than before as Maud'Dib deals with his legacy. The sci-fi movie stars Timothée Chalamet returning as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Jason Momoa as clone Duncan Idaho, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Isaach De Bankolé as Farok, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson as Scytale, and Javier Bardem; plus featuring newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke. First Trailers for 'Dinosaurs of the Wild West' Crazy New Sci-Fi Series
"A force that believes the future belongs to neither man nor beast." From the creators of the dinosaur movie Primitive War last year comes a brand new vision of a dinosaur-filled universe. Filmmaker Luke Sparke and his VFX collaborators are working on another new project now called Dinosaurs of the Wild West. And yes it's exactly as it sounds. Dinos in the wild west riding along with cowboys instead of horses. Inspired by the illustrated world and artwork of creator Shaun Keenan, Dinosaurs of the Wild West blends large-scale storytelling with prehistoric spectacle. The series imagines a world where humanity didn’t build civilization on horses and steam... but on dinosaurs. But what about the story this time? Who are we following into the frontier? The year is 1879, humans and dinosaurs have evolved together, but as the frontier grows stronger so does the threat of extinction... but this time, it won't be natural. Ha ha. Narrated by actor Jesse Kove. There are now two teaser trailers available as they're also launching a Kickstarter to get money to fund the project. For the moment, Sparke's Dinosaurs of the Wild West is being pitched a series with a goal to make two episodes and see how it goes. Super Bad Trailer for The Asylum's 'The Odyssey' B-Movie Adaptation
"Odysseus will not leave my ocean alive." The Asylum is here to ruin your week with their latest awful B-movie spoof of another upcoming movie this summer. As usual. Because there is no more copyright to worry about with Homer, they're presenting their own version of The Odyssey. The Aslyum's latest take on this classic story is also literally called The Odyssey, playing against Christopher Nolan's epic adaptation of The Odyssey out in theaters this July. This version stars Dominic Keating as Antinous, Myrom Kingery as Odysseus, Morgan Flanagan as Penelope, Llana Barron, Patrick Byrnes, Jordan Iverach, Angelo Kern, and Tony Wood. It looks extremely bad in every possible way, of course that's expected, with some hideous monsters & shenanigans. I'm surprised they're still making these (covered in the doc Mockbuster), but I guess some people out there are paying to watch them. This is also packed with atrocious AI footage galore, which makes it look even worse. At least all the actors are real. But how much longer will they last... // Continue Reading ›
