Samurai starring Sony Chiba. It's out in the US & Canada to watch starting May 5th on Blu-ray for any collectors or otherwise to pick up. G.I. Samurai features action superstar Sonny Chiba heading the cast in a rip-roaring time-slipping action blockbuster in which guns, tanks and helicopters come up against katana-wielding warriors on horseback! Based on a novel by Ryo Hanmura and directed by Kosei Saito (Ninja Wars), G.I. Samurai's epic battle scenes wowed Japanese audiences upon release in 1979 and are now more awe-inspiring than ever in a new 4K restoration by Kadokawa Pictures. This is a bonkers action classic crossing over these two timelines. It was also released with an English dub and a new title called Time Slip, though the original is still better. Toho & Gaga in Japan have unveiled the full official trailer for Sheep in the Box, the latest emotional movie from beloved, award-winning Japanese filmmaker Hirokazu Koreeda. It will likely premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival this May before opening in Japanese cinemas also in May this summer. Koreeda's newest following his most recent films Broker and Monster. The couple who lost their son welcomed in a humanoid. Sheep in the Box is Koreeda's take on AI and recreating lost loved ones with tech - a family brings back their son as a robot. "This project began with the idea of 'bringing the dead back to life using the latest technology,'" he explains. "I was interested in exploring the conflicting perspectives [about] how technological advancement clashes with human inner values.... With technology evolving at a pace far beyond what I had imagined, I felt that this reality might arrive sooner than expected." The film stars Haruka Ayase as the Mom, Daigo (Chidori) as the Dad, and Rito Kuwaki as their robo son. "Grace Rocky Save Stars!!" It's finally here. Rocky and Ryland, space buddies, in a story about saving our worlds. Project Hail Mary is a cinematic adaptation of the bestselling book written by Andy Weir. A full 11 years after we got to experience The Martian with Matt Damon, another Andy Weir adaptation, his words are back on the big screen in this interstellar story about using science and ingenuity and creativity to solve existential problems. Acclaimed directors Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, best known as just "Lord & Miller", are the directors behind this big screen adaptation and they've knocked it out of the park. Project Hail Mary is an intellectual space movie with built-in levity that is design to be more of a character study about what it takes to solve great problems. It's a sci-fi spectacle, for sure, but it's not an epic space action movie. Most of it takes place inside a spaceship, a set they built for real on sound stages, with limited green screen. And the best part about it is Rocky, an alien friend he meets on his mission, who is brought to life by puppetry as a practical character performed for real on set and not something created with CGI later on. Trailer for Sophy Romvari's 'Blue Heron' Film Set on Vancouver Island

"Have you ever heard about a family like this?" Janus Films has unveiled the trailer for the Canadian indie film titled Blue Heron, marking the feature directorial debut of acclaimed Canadian-Hungarian filmmaker Sophy Romvari. This premiered at the 2025 Locarno Film Festival last year then played at the Toronto, San Sebastian, Chicago, and Vancouver Film Festivals as well. Romvari described Blue Heron as her "most significant attempt to capture just how fallible memory is." A cinematic story about her upbringing. It's her own autobiographical tale about experiences growing up with her family on Vancouver Island - her parents are immigrants from Hungary. A family of six settles into their new home on Vancouver Island as internal dynamics are slowly revealed through the eyes of the youngest child. Their fresh start, however, is disrupted by the increasingly dangerous behaviour of Jeremy, her eldest brother. "Drawing on her own life story, [she] masterfully plays with the boundaries of fiction, breaking with the expectations of the traditional coming-of-age story." "I said I wasn't doing it!" Prime Video has revealed a first look teaser trailer for a new spinoff movie event called Jack Ryan: Ghost War, arriving to watch in a few months. This is a one-time "major movie event" that is a continuation of the Jack Ryan series starring John Krasinski as the iconic Tom Clancy character. Krasinski took over the role in 2018 and that ran for 4 seasons into 2023 where it finally wrapped up with the "final season." But of course in the streaming world there's always room for one more movie. Netflix has the Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man movie out soon, and Prime Video has this Ghost War movie. Ryan's new mission forces him to confront a rogue black-ops unit. Operating in real time with lives on the line, he reunites with battle-tested CIA operative Mike November and former CIA boss James Greer, their combined experience the only edge they have against an enemy who knows their every move. Starring Krasinski with Sienna Miller, Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, Betty Gabriel, Max Beesley, and Douglas Hodge. Apple TV has unveiled the first official trailer for the dark comedy film called Outcome, directed by Jonah Hill who also stars in it and co-wrote it. This looks like it's Jonah Hill's attempt to tell his own story and atone for his problems and his past by making a movie about another guy that isn't him but is kinda sorta about him. Keanu Reeves stars as a famous Hollywood actor named Reef Hawk. He is forced to confront his problems and atone for his past after being threatened by bizarre video footage from his past. But what exactly is the video and what does he have to apologize for? This trailer only drops hints but doesn't reveal anything specific. Keanu Reeves stars with Cameron Diaz & Matt Bomer as his only two friends, Jonah Hill as his peculiar lawyer, along with David Spade, Kaia Gerber, Roy Wood Jr., Laverne Cox, Drew Barrymore, Martin Scorsese (yep for real!!), and many, many others. This looks so weird. Aside from all the intriguing wide angle, over-saturated shots throughout it has such a strange vibe.
