The Tested YouTube channel has posted a new 20-min video this week taking a tour of the remarkable IMAX headquarters backroom where they dive into understanding their 70mm film projection. Tested's host Adam Savage makes his way into the LA HQ for IMAX to talk about and get a closer look at 70mm IMAX cinema and how huge and glorious it is. There are a number of major 70mm film IMAX movies hitting theaters this year, which is why 70mm IMAX is getting so much focus. It's the biggest and most pristine of Large Format projection still around, and IMAX is trying to keep actual 70mm film projectors in operation (mainly in US & Canada) but it's costly & require this exact level of expert management. This video goes all out doing film prep with a print manager named Irving, who also geeks out with Adam about everything (and btw they're working on a print for Nolan's The Odyssey in this).
