"I'm just out for some sights..." ABC News / Hulu have debuted the official trailer for a documentary film titled #Skyking, examining the true story of the infamous folk hero known as the "Sky King". This doc just premiered at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival last month and will be out to watch streaming on Hulu coming up next week. A troubled airport worker's impulsive decision to steal and fly a commercial plane becomes a gripping aerial drama that reflects deeper issues of mental health & working-class struggles in America. The story is about Richard Russell, who stole a Horizon Air Bombardier Q400 plane at the airport in August 2018 and went for a joyride before crashing it. This doc also marks the first time many members of Russell's family have spoken publicly about his story. It includes never-before-heard air traffic control audio, as well as an interview with the now-retired ATC supervisor who managed the situation.
