"You know this isn't gonna have a happy ending..." You can say that again, Somerset. IMAX has revealed a new trailer for the 30th anniversary re-release of one of David Fincher's all-timer classic films. Fincher's Se7en originally opened in theaters in September 1995, which means they're a little bit early on this 30th celebration but that's all good. Se7en went on to earn a whopping $327M worldwide, almost 10x its budget, during its original release. Two detectives – a rookie and a veteran – hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his motives. The film stars Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow, and John C. McGinley. "Experience the Se7en deady sins in IMAX." This re-release will only be in IMAX theaters to start in January 2025 right after New Years, though there might be more coming from WB eventually. Roger Ebert gave the film a full 4 stars, writing in his 1995 review: "I remember a shot in Murnau's Faust (1926) in which Satan wore a black cloak that enveloped a tiny village below. That is the sensation Fincher creates here." Damn! What a terrific film - it's always worth a watch if you need a disturbing cinematic experience. // Continue Reading ›
