"You feel that...? That's your family, that's your blood." Netflix has revealed the second official trailer for the film The Piano Lesson, an adaptation of the August Wilson play. This first premiered at the 2024 Telluride & Toronto Film Festivals a few months ago, and is already playing in theaters now before Netflix for streaming soon. It's produced by Denzel Washington, featuring his son John David Washington, directed by his other son Malcolm Washington, making his feature directorial debut. The film follows the lives of the Charles family as they deal with themes of family legacy and more, in deciding what to do with an heirloom, the family piano. Adapted from August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterwork, this explores the inter-generational dynamics of identity, resilience and transcendence - revealing startling truths about how we perceive the past and who gets to define our legacy. With an all-star cast including Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, Ray Fisher, Michael Potts, Erykah Badu, Skylar Aleece Smith, Gail Bean, Jerrika Hinton, with Danielle Deadwyler and Corey Hawkins.
