Netflix has revealed their full official trailer for the epic new series One Hundred Years of Solitude, adapting the iconic novel of the same name. They debuted a teaser earlier in 2024 and the series is ready for streaming in December. In the timeless town of Macondo, 7 generations of the BuendÃa family navigate love, oblivion and the inescapability of their past — and their fate. The book by Nobel Prize winning author Gabriel GarcÃa Márquez comes to Netflix, telling the story of the BuendÃa family, tormented by madness, impossible love, war, and fear of a curse that condemns them to solitude for a 100 years in this town. This stars Claudio Cataño, Jerónimo Barón, Santiago Vásquez, Marco González, Diego Vásquez, Leonardo Soto, Susana Morales, & Marleyda Soto. Netflix has spent tons of money making sure this adaptation is accurate and authentic, but also ambitious in scope and scale (watch the impressive behind-the-scenes featurette here). This looks properly exciting and grandiose, spanning generations across revolutions and marriages and so much more. With eight episodes, the first part of One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the most ambitious projects in Latin American history.
