SOS! Zombies are back! The Rage virus has return! Alert, alert. Sony Pictures has revealed a surprised secret teaser for the upcoming 28 Years Later horror sequel - arriving in theaters June 2025 next summer. It's once again being directed by Danny Boyle, who directed the original 28 Days Later (from 2002), a horror classic featuring fast zombies that still remains a favorite amongst zombie fans. Its sequel 28 Weeks Later (from 2007) was directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and was only exec produced by Boyle at the time. This next one also features Alex Garland returning to co-write the screenplay with Boyle. And I'm guessing it's going to be an angry sequel because the tagline is "time didn't heal anything." Oh damn. It was shot back-to-back with its sequel 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple, directed by Nia DaCosta, which doesn't have a release date yet. This teaser is actually just setting up the first trailer - which will land on Tuesday coming up. The Morse code beeping in this teaser video below simply states "Tuesday" over & over.
