"You can't expect to hold onto anything, Gustavo." The official trailer is available for a new film titled Los Frikis, a coming-of-age film from 1990s Cuba based on a true story. This indie drama is the latest creation from the two filmmakers behind the indie hit The Peanut Butter Falcon from a few years ago. And it's also produced by Academy Award winning producers Phil Lord & Christopher Miller. Inspired by a real story, Los Frikis is a coming-of-age story set in early 90s Cuba where a group of punk rockers in search of freedom deliberately inject HIV in order to live at a government-run treatment home so they can create their own utopia - since they can't otherwise. There, in a world meant for isolation, they carve out their own anarchic utopia—an oasis of rock 'n' roll 🤘, joy, and independence. Wow what a crazy story! Starring Adrià Arjona from Hit Man, Héctor Medina, Jorge PerugorrÃa, Luis Alberto GarcÃa, and introducing Eros de la Puente as Gustavo. Damn this looks really good! A very potent story about the dangers of chasing freedom. // Continue Reading ›
