He's Back! First Teaser for 'Air Bud Returns' Basketball Doggo Movie

"Guess who's back?!" Cineverse has revealed the first official trailer for the next legacy sequel in the works titled Air Bud Returns, a follow-up to the classic original Air Bud dunk doggo basketball movie in 1997. Ever since that original debut 29 years ago, they've turned the Air Bud brand into an entire franchise with boatloads of doggie movies and his puppy "Buddies" mainly direct to video. Now for the 30th Anniversary, they're "rebooting" it with this legacy sequel Air Bud Returns, directed by Robert Vince. A grieving 12-year-old boy finds his dad's old VHS tape of Air Bud and then befriends a stray golden retriever in his new town. Together, they chase basketball dreams, rally a team of underdogs, and discover what it means to play with heart. Basically a repeat of the original but with the meta concept of the original being a part of it, kind of like that really bad Anaconda remake movie last year. Starring Aydin Artis, Tracy Ifeachor, Edwin Lee Gibson, Tyler Labine, Erik Gow, and Maxim Swinton. Last summer they held a casting search to find a new dog to star in this – and ended up casting two new golden retrievers in the role: Charlie & Summer.
