"There's no way to stop it." The big radioactive lizard is back! Again! Japan's Toho is planning another 2024 re-release of this beloved, Oscar-winning, monster movie mega-hit Godzilla: Minus One. The re-release is part of the 70th Anniversary of Godzilla celebrations (more info here), because the original Gojira movie opened in Japan on November 1st way back in 1954. So this is also re-releasing on November 1st in the US as well - after a successful run last winter. Prolific Japanese filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki (Lupin III: The First, Stand by Me Doraemon) directed this epic action sci-fi - starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, Kuranosuke Sasaki. Post-war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb. The movie originally opened in Japan last November and in the US in December, becoming a hit worldwide before going on to make history at the Oscars winning Best Visual Effects. Which mostly just felt like Hollywood celebrating how great this movie is.
