"It would be nice if we could still come here until the end of the season." What a lovely little house on the lake. Studiocanal has revealed the official trailer for the movie titled Visitation, a German film made by prolific filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff as his latest creation. Originally titled Heimsuchung in German, the film is about one house and the many people who have passed through it. Similar to Robert Zemeckis' movie Here, but not exactly the same. A house locatd on a lakeshore near Berlin stands witness to a century of events that reshape the world around it: the rise of Nazism and the devastation of war, Soviet occupation, the reunification of Germany, and the dawn of a new era leading right to modern times. Carrying the marks of each new regime, generations come and go — a Jewish family, an opportunistic architect and his wife, an idealistic writer, and her granddaughter. 12 destinies searching for peace and belonging, while the house remains a haven through decades of turmoil. Starring Martina Gedeck, Lars Eidinger, Susanne Wolff, Ulrich Matthes, Detlev Buck, Michael Maertens, Wigand Witting, and Stella Denis-Winkler. This just premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and is set for a German release in October with the US to follow. This actually looks quite good, with some bright & vibrant cinematography following these stories. // Continue Reading ›
