"I don't always feel like the most reliable source..." Gravitas posted the official trailer for this indie horror creation called Soft Liquid Center, made by a filmmaking duo called "Perry Home Video". It premiered at a few fests earlier this year, including at the RiverRun & Chattanooga Film Festivals, with a VOD release set for this month. A recently single woman moves out on her own, but her newfound relief soon curdles as alarming, inexplicable events turn her home into a house of horrors filled with a controlling force. Reviews are praising its uniqueness: "If you're willing to give yourself to Soft Liquid Center, you'll be rewarded with a deeply haunting tale whose vibe and oppressive atmosphere will chill you to the bone." Andy Samberg & Anna Kendrick in 'Self Reliance' Comedy Film Trailer

"Did you just ask if I was having fun?!" Hulu has unveiled an official trailer for an indie comedy called Self Reliance, marking the feature film directorial debut of American actor Jake Johnson. Johnson wrote & directed this, and also stars in it as the man who gets caught up in a crazy "game show". This first premiered earlier in the year at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival, and will hit streaming on Hulu in January soon. When a man is offered a million dollars to play a game in which hunters try to kill him, he thinks he has found the perfect loophole: they can only attack when he's alone. His only problem is that none of his friends or family believe the game is real. The full cast features Johnson with Anna Kendrick, Andy Samberg, Natalie Morales, Christopher Lloyd, Wayne Brady, GaTa, Emily Hampshire, Mary Holland, and Boban Marjanović. Watch: Recreating the First ILM in 'Voice of a Star Wars Fan' Short Film

"I'm not exaggerating when I say that... my life was the Millennium Falcon." A Japanese Star Wars fan spent a few years making a remarkably detailed, perfectly accurate recreation of the original ILM workshop FX studio that made the first Star Wars movie. There's an entrancing 20 minute short doc about it online that is absolutely worth a watch. It is the story of Hiroshi Sumi, a big-time Star Wars geek who grew up with a deep fondness for the "behind-the-scenes" work of ILM, and a powerful love for the precise details in all of the hand-made FX models. Especially the Millennium Falcon, which he has a special connection to. I found this thanks to John Gruber and I think his post really captures what makes it such a fascinating story: "An homage and loving look back at the earliest days of Industrial Light and Magic... Lionsgate Movies has unveiled an official trailer for Race For Glory: Audi vs Lancia, formerly known as simply 2 Win (all of these titles are bad). This project is an Italy / UK / Ireland co-production directed by an Italian filmmaker, and starring, co-written by, and produced by the Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio. Inspired by true events that occurred during the fierce rivalry between Germany (Audi) and Italy (Lancia) at the 1983 Rally World Championships. Race For Glory stars Riccardo Scamarcio as rally driver Cesare Fiorio, Volker Bruch as racing champion Walter Röhrl, with Katie Clarkson-Hill, Esther Garrel, Giorgio Montanini, Gianmaria Martini, Haley Bennett, and featuring Daniel Brühl as the German engineer Roland Gumpert, founder of the sports car manufacturer Apollo Automobil. This is being dumped in theaters and on VOD at the same time in early January, never a good sign.
