First Look Teaser for 'Mary & George' Series Featuring Julianne Moore
"This world is full of monsters..." Indeed it (still) is. Starz has unveiled an extra spicy first look teaser for a new British historical drama miniseries called Mary & George, set to arrive sometime in early 2024 (no date yet). Follow the story of the Countess of Buckingham who molded her son to seduce King James I and become his all-powerful lover, through intrigue, becoming richer, more titled and influential than England has ever seen. The story is based on Benjamin Woolley's non-fiction historical book The King's Assassin, about a treacherous mother and son who schemed, seduced and killed to conquer the Court of England and the bed of King James I. "If I looked like you. I'd rule the f&!king planet." Based on a scandalous true story, the 7-part limited series stars Julianne Moore as Mary Villiers, Nicholas Galitzine as George Villiers, with Tony Curran, Laurie Davidson, Nicola Walker, Niamh Algar, Trine Dyrholm, Sean Gilder, Adrian Rawlins, and Mark O'Halloran as Sir Francis Bacon; plus many others. Watch: Delightful 3-Min Short 'Citizen Tourist' Shows Us Who We Are
"Gladly not all tourists are so demanding... Some of them do realize that being an honorable tourist can involve little effort, money, or disruption." This amusing 3-minute short film is fantastic! Citizen Tourist is a short film creation from the Porto, Portugal-based design house FAVO Studio and it's just delightful. Take a few moments to enjoy this and pass it on to others. The theme of over-abundant tourism is "explored in a whimsical fashion, turning the spotlight on a [global] industry that is shaping entire cities & cultures in profound ways... We try to encourage people to be able to find the joy of adventure right at their doorstep," they explain. It takes us on a quick journey through modern day tourism, including its many bad sides. Favo reminds us of the Proust quote: “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." As an avid traveler, I adore this! It's short & sweet, and hits all the right notes. Click play. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Dog Movie 'Arthur the King' Starring Mark Wahlberg
"Extra meatballs for you, my friend." Give him all the meatballs! Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a dog movie called Arthur the King, set for release in March 2024. They slid in to take this release spot after the reshuffling of movie release dates following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Based on a true story, and adapted from Mikael Lindnord's book "Arthur: The Dog who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home", the film is about an elite adventure racer who adopts a stray dog that follows him during an epic endurance race. Wahlberg plays a Swedish guy named Mikael Lindnord, who's the captain of a Swedish adventure racing team, who befriends a wounded stray dog named Arthur, who accompanies the team on a grueling 400-mile endurance race through the Ecuadorian jungle. Also with Simu Liu, Juliet Rylance, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ali Suliman, with Bear Grylls as Himself, and Paul Guilfoyle. This actually looks quite good! A tad cheesy, but not so bad, appropriately uplifting and all this actually happened. For the most part. // Continue Reading ›

'The Edge of Everything' Doc Trailer About Snooker's Ronnie O'Sullivan
"I wasn't very good at having all this stuff locked inside of me..." MetFilm Distribution has revealed their trailer for Ronnie: The Edge of Everything, a documentary film about a sports legend named Ronnie O'Sullivan. Only some will recognize his name, as he is best known as a champion at the game of snooker (similar to billiards) and was famous in the 1990s. Facing the end of a wildly successful but turbulent career, snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan is finally keeping the game at arm's length. However over the course of a season leading up to a career-defining tournament, and triggered by memories of the past, he finds himself spiralling back into the sport's intense grip. Produced by David Beckham's Studio 99 and directed by Sam Blair, this is a film that pushes at the limits of sporting biographies, a layered and sophisticated story of a man grappling with his talent and his demons. Even if you don't know much about snooker or who this guy is, this still seems fascinating - another look at the tumult of a famous professional life. Check it out below. // Continue Reading ›

Full Trailer for 'Unsung Hero' Movie About Creating 'For King & Country'
"You're family – they're not in the way, they are the way." Lionsgate has revealed the official trailer for a band biopic movie called Unsung Hero, which is essentially just one big chunk of marketing for the band anyway. It actually stars one of the band members as his own father, and is also written and directed and produced by him. David Smallbone, his pregnant wife, and their seven children leave Australia to rebuild their lives in America. David and Helen realize the musical talent of their children, who become two of the most successful acts in "Inspirational Music" history. The movie also follows the family's mother, Helen, as she uses her faith to hold the family of nine together by turning struggles into an adventure for her children. Not just a movie about a band, it's also more religious storytelling! Unsung Hero stars Daisy Betts, Joel Smallbone, Kirrilee Berger, Jonathan Jackson, Lucas Black, with Candace Cameron Bure, and Terry O'Quinn. This looks exactly as cheesy & as totally "faith will guide us" uplifting as it sounds. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

Official US Trailer for Lila Avilés' Heartfelt Drama 'Tótem' from Mexico
"A luminous and soul-nourishing microcosm." Janus Films + Sideshow have revealed an official US trailer for an acclaimed Mexican drama titled Tótem. It initially premiered at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, one of the few great films at the festival that should've won the top prize. Mexican director Lila Avilés's film Totem is about a family getting ready for a birthday party, told through the eyes of a young girl. Seven-year-old Sol spends the day at her grandfather's home, helping with the preparations for a surprise party for her ailing father. Throughout the day, chaos slowly takes over, fracturing the family's foundations. Sol will embrace the essence of letting go as a release for existence. It's a wonderfully soulful, touching film about family and life on this planet - don't skip over this one. The ensemble cast features Naíma Sentíes, Monserrat Marañon, Marisol Gasé, Saori Gurza, Teresita Sánchez, Mateo García Elizondo, Juan Francisco Maldonado, and Iazua Larios. The film is not an easy sell, it's admittedly hard to get anyone to watch it, but if you love beautiful cinema then I do recommend discovering it whenever possible. // Continue Reading ›
