Watch: Cute Earth-Loving Robot Ad for Ikea - 'Change a Bit for Good'

Saving the world one robot at a time! This is just a commercial for Ikea, but it's so much fun and the robot is so adorable, we can't help sharing it anyway. The 60-second ad spot is called "Change a Bit for Good" and it follows a robot around a futuristic world. He/she/it sees a banner for a movie about defender droids with the tagline "save the planet!" So it decides to become a hero and start cleaning up pollution to actually save our planet. The idea is meant to inspire individual action. Ikea explains: "We've set the ambitious goal of becoming fully circular and climate positive by 2030. It's not just about how we do business, but also about wanting to inspire and support customers in taking action too." Made by Pulse Films director Ninian Doff and a VFX studio called "nineteentwenty". I'd honestly watch a series about this friendly robot family. ›››

Dyatlov Pass Examined in 'An Unknown Compelling Force' Doc Trailer

"Just what were the hikers fleeing from?" 1091 Pictures has unveiled a trailer for a chilling investigative doc called An Unknown Compelling Force, about the mystery of Dyatlov Pass in Russia. You've probably heard of this place before, as they've tried to make horror films about it for years, but it remains a mystery. As it likely will forever. British adventure filmmaker Liam Le Guillou travels under the radar to Russia in search of answers. Braving the dangerous conditions and hundreds of kilometers in sub-polar conditions, the documentary team attempts to reach the very location of the incident, a place the locals call "The Dead Mountain." The film interviews Russian investigators, a former Moscow Times journalist, and friends of the hikers. To uncover the truth, the film also speaks to experts in the US including a former FBI Agent and the former Marin County Coroner to finally reveal the stunning truth of The Dyatlov Pass Incident. (Of course, who knows what really happened there.) It looks creepy! Another "true crime" doc to keep you up at night. ›››

New Trailer for Feel Good Movie 'Even in Dreams' Following a Singer

"She wrote these songs, and you're here to finish them." Purdie Films has released the trailer for a movie titled Even in Dreams, from writer / director Savannah Ostler. Even in Dreams is an "inspiring, feel good, musically driven family film that reminds us all to live our dreams!" This follows a talented young singer named Sam, played by Monica Moore Smith. After her sister passes away, she steps in to fill her place in their band, bringing them all the way to Nashville. "As the taste of fame draws near, tensions begin to rise within the band. Will the vicious music industry tear them apart or will they find Amber's song and truly live their dreams?" In addition to Monica, this stars Alison Arngrim, Nathan Osmond, Adrian R'Mante, Tanner Gillman, James Gaisford, Kaden Caldwell, Savannah Ostler, and Sarah Kent. This looks extremely cheesy and very formulaic, but if you like stories about singing, you will likely enjoy this one, too. ›››

Six Short Trailers for Disney's Diverse 'Launchpad' Short Film Series

"I want to tell Jimmy I'm half-vampire." Disney has debuted six individual trailers for their new short film series steaming on Disney+ called Launchpad. We featured one teaser last month, but get a closer look at each one of these below. Bold new storytelling from six new filmmakers with unique perspectives in Disney's Launchpad, arriving in May. The series will feature six different shorts at launch - titled: American Eid, Dinner is Served, Growing Fangs, The Last of the Chupacabras, Let's Be Tigers, and The Little Prince(ss). Much like the Pixar SparkShorts series, they want to tell us stories that we don't usually hear - from a diverse set of voices, about underrepresented people trying to be themselves. Most of them are about teens or kids - one of them is about a half human / half vampire, one of them is about a Mexican-American struggling to carry on her traditions, one of them is about a 7-year-old Chinese kid who loves ballet. We love featuring short films on this site, and I'm impressed that Disney is highlighting some unique stories. Enjoy. ›››

First Trailer for Edgar Wright's 'Last Night in Soho' London Thriller

"Things will be great when you're… downtown!" Focus Features has debuted the first official trailer for Edgar Wright's vibrant new London thriller titled Last Night in Soho, currently scheduled to open this October. This psychological horror is inspired by other British horror films, like Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now and Polanski's Repulsion. A young girl, passionate about fashion design, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it seems, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences. The exquisite cast stars Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy, along with Matt Smith, Diana Rigg, Rita Tushingham, Terrence Stamp, and Jessie Mei Li. This looks ravishing! I love the style and colors and all the terrifying mystery. Everything about this is amazing so far, and that cracking shot turning into the logo is perfect. Do you believe in ghosts? ›››

Official Trailer for 'Alliances Broken' Doc About the Rise & Fall of AAF

"Just focus on selling tickets." 1091 Pictures has released an official trailer for a sports documentary titled Alliances Broken, from filmmaker Steven Potter, profiling the epic rise and fall of the AAF. Described as the "Fyre Festival of sports", this documentary film takes us into the creation and collapse of the Alliance of American Football - another attempt to create something like the XFL, another football league for the spring. They only played for three months, wasted over $250 million, but is there more to the story of how it failed? Alliances Broken is a film that shares the stories of staff members and players who were affected first hand by the wake of the AAF. Only those involved can tell the real story. Featuring appearances by Aaron Evans, Alex Orendorff, Benjamin Sturner, Bryan Woodfork, Chris Brown, & Chris Martin. It seems we're all fascinated by failure, and rather than learning from mistakes, everyone only enjoys hearing the stories told. ›››
