1993, right when Steven Spielberg's dinosaur classic
Jurassic Park became a massive hit in theaters, the studio started working on an animated spin-off series. Long before any of the sequels were ever made, long before any of the current Jurassic Park animated series were made (
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory), they created this series called
Escape from Jurassic Park. "The Jurassic Park anime that was never released to the public." The project was scrapped before it was ever finished and they never made full episodes. But all these years later a long lost promo video has suddenly resurfaced. And yes it's real. The JP fan site
Jurassic Outpost has confirmed that its real and verified it with previously discovered production material. They explain: "Unlike other animated series, this was not meant to be a cartoon aimed at younger audiences, but rather targeted at the audience of the
Jurassic Park film." This definitely looks & feels like 90s-style animation - but I'd
still totally watch this now. Check it out below. //
