"This world that we're in... it will only last one more day." GKids has revealed one final US "teaser" trailer for The Boy and the Heron, the latest film from the iconic filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. This is his 12th feature film, and his latest since The Wind Rises in 2013. It opens in US theaters nationwide next Friday - on Dec. 8th - with both dubbed & subtitled showings (tickets here). "A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation, [and] in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki." With an original score by Joe Hisaishi. Described as a "big fantastical film", it follows a boy who discovers an abandoned tower in his new town and enters a magical, mystical world guided by a strange talking grey heron. It's as beautiful as reported. The English-language dub version includes Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe, Mark Hamill, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh. It is easily one of the most exciting theatrical events of 2023 to go watch a brand new Hayao Miyazaki film on the big screen. Don't miss it! Enjoy this lovely final trailer. // Continue Reading ›
