Brea Grant in Surreal Home-Invasion Slasher 'Lucky' Official Trailer

"He keeps coming back… he should be dead!" Shudder has unveiled the official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Lucky, a surreal slasher home-invasion time loop horror from filmmaker Natasha Kermani. This originally premiered at the Fantasia + FrightFest Film Festivals last year, and stopped by Nightstream - read Zofia's review. A suburban woman named May, a popular self-help book author, fights to be believed as she finds herself stalked by a threatening figure who returns to her house night after night. When she can't get help from those around her, she is forced to take matters into her own hands. Described as "a uniquely nightmarish, darkly funny, and timely slasher, and a thrilling addition to the Final Girl genre." This stars Brea Grant, who also wrote the screenplay, along with Dhruv Uday Singh and Kausar Mohammed. This looks like a good flip on the slasher genre, with Grant kicking ass in the lead performance. Check it out. ›››

Edward James Olmos in Religious Drama 'Walking with Herb' Trailer

"No one thing can force you back to the faith you once had." An official trailer has debuted for a faith-based religious propaganda film titled Walking with Herb. We usually don't write about these kind of films, but this is so hilarious it's worth a lookjust to laugh at. Sixty-five-year-old Joe Amable-Amo is struggling with his faith after tragedy hits. Joe is working at his desk when he receives a message from God on his computer (yes, really) that tells him he has been chosen to deliver an inspirational message to the world - by playing golf. God tells Joe he is going to play in a tournament, and if his faith is strong enough, he will win. As Joe embarks on a spiritual journey along with God's personal messenger and motorcyclist, Herb, Joe learns to make a difference. Truly inspirational storytelling right there. Starring Edward James Olmos as Joe, with George Lopez playing Herb, and Kathleen Quinlan, Jessica Medoff, Johnathan McClain, and Billy Boyd. It couldn't be more goddamn cliche than a bank manager realizing golf is "God's message". Have fun. ›››

First Trailer for Disney's New 'Cruella' Movie Starring Emma Stone

"A new day brings new opportunities… and I was ready to make a statement." Introducing the one & only Cruella de Vil! Disney has unveiled the first wicked trailer for Cruella, a new "live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil." This reinvention of the classic 101 Dalmatians focuses on its evil fashionista villain instead, and does feature a few dogs. Emma Stone stars as Cruella de Vil, with Emma Thompson, Mark Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Joel Fry, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and John McCrea. Two-time Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan (Mad Max: Fury Road, A Room with a View) creates the dazzling and imaginative costumes, which take on a life of their own. There's barely 90 seconds of footage in here, but it looks extra wicked already. And I can't help say it - this seems like Disney's female version of Joker, telling the story of someone who is just… Brilliant. Bad. A little bit mad. May 2021. ›››

First Teaser Trailer for Japanese Remake of Sci-Fi Horror 'Cube' Film

"Perhaps you will be trapped next." Shochiku has released a fun teaser trailer for the new Japanese remake of the classic indie sci-fi horror film Cube, using the exact same name all over again. This new Cube is also executive produced by Vincenzo Natali, who made the original in 1997. The Japanese website contains all kinds of cryptic text that connects with the concept of "people wake up in a mysterious cube room and have no idea what it is or does." For example: "No one can resist the overwhelming order that Cube brings. We who made this work were like entering Cube. (Because I shot it in the same place all the time) And I will face myself. Is it hope or despair that lurks in the abyss of myself? Soon, you too are in Cube. No, it may already be inside." The film's cast includes Masaki Suda, Takumi Saitoh, Masaki Okada, Kôtarô Yoshida, and Hikaru Tashiro. This is only a teaser but I'm already sold. The original is superb and this looks good. ›››

A VHS Tape Leads to a Portal in Post-Rapture Times in 'Exodus' Trailer

"Don't be afraid…" Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for Exodus, a peculiar new old school sci-fi adventure of sorts. When a VHS-tape proves the existence of a rumored doorway to paradise, a young man abandons his decaying hometown in pursuit of the door to salvation, evading vengeful pursuers along the way. The film is set in a "post-rapture world" and involves post-apocalyptic gangs running towns. This doesn't look as good as it should, but there's some interesting ideas in here. Exodus stars Jimi Stanton, Janelle Snow, Charles Andrew Gardner, Keith Jardine, James McKinney, Hannah Kloepfer, Zachary Gossett, Dan Gonón, Grace Barnes, and David Leonard. There isn't enough footage in this trailer to say if it's going to be any good, however the poster actually gets my attention more than anything. ›››
