Official Trailer for 'Alliances Broken' Doc About the Rise & Fall of AAF

"Just focus on selling tickets." 1091 Pictures has released an official trailer for a sports documentary titled Alliances Broken, from filmmaker Steven Potter, profiling the epic rise and fall of the AAF. Described as the "Fyre Festival of sports", this documentary film takes us into the creation and collapse of the Alliance of American Football - another attempt to create something like the XFL, another football league for the spring. They only played for three months, wasted over $250 million, but is there more to the story of how it failed? Alliances Broken is a film that shares the stories of staff members and players who were affected first hand by the wake of the AAF. Only those involved can tell the real story. Featuring appearances by Aaron Evans, Alex Orendorff, Benjamin Sturner, Bryan Woodfork, Chris Brown, & Chris Martin. It seems we're all fascinated by failure, and rather than learning from mistakes, everyone only enjoys hearing the stories told. ›››

US Trailer for 'Undercover Punch & Gun' HK Martial Arts Action Film

"How would I know you were undercover?" Well Go USA has released their official US trailer for a Hong Kong martial arts action film titled Undercover Punch & Gun, on VOD in the US this June. This already opened in China back in 2019, and it also goes under the strange title Undercover vs. Undercover. It's about two rival police agencies being forced to team up together after a drug trade goes wrong. Undercover police Wu, played by Philip Ng, teams up with unlikely allies in order to fight a major drug dealer and take down a drug smuggling ring. The full cast also includes Vanness Wu, Andy On, Chi Shuai, Joyce Feng, Aaron Aziz, Kitty Jiang, and Aka Chio. This didn't get the best reviews when it originally opened, made by two screenwriters both directing for their first time here. But at least the fight scenes look like fun, that rad spin around them shot. Really that's what we're all watching these films for anyway. Check it out below. ›››

Watch: Incredible Sci-Fi Thriller Short 'Blindsight' About First Contact

"The ship grows its own crew." "If… it's a ship. If… they're crew." Hell yes – some extra dark space sci-fi! Blindsight is an incredible short film made by multiple collaborators. It took four year to complete and it's now ready to watch - thanks to tip from Neill Blomkamp; this does seem like something his Oats Studios would make as a proof of concept. A small team is sent from Earth to investigate evidence of an alien species and discovers they cannot trust their senses to reflect the reality of the world around them. Blindsight is a short "created by a collaborative group of designers and artists, and directed by Danil Krivoruchko. The film is based on the eponymous sci-fi novel by Peter Watts." This has some extraordinary visuals and some big ideas it explores by questioning humanity's place in the universe. A fascinating, must watch sci-fi short. ›››

New Trailer for Kirk Caouette's Indie Action Film 'American Badger'

"Justice before redemption." Cranked Up Films has released an official US trailer for an indie action movie titled American Badger, made by a Canadian stuntman named Kirk Caouette - who stars, writes & directs this film. This recently premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival a few months ago. A seemingly cold-blooded hitman is assigned to befriend a call girl, but all hell breaks loose when he is forced to kill her. Kirk says, "I was very inspired by the early works of legendary Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar Wai; the way he blended slow burning film noir with explosive action pieces. With this in mind, I set out to create a film that would delve into that space but would also satisfy the appetite of a modern audience that has been gobbling up comic book movies & John Wick films." With Kirk Caouette, Andrea Stefancikova, Michael Kopsa, Milan Stefancik, and Zak Santiago. The action in this actually looks pretty badass, the plot not so much. ›››
