Carrie Coon, Bella Ramsey, Lily James in 'The Liberation' Cult Trailer

"I choose to believe in myself." Bleecker Street debuted the first official trailer for the film The Liberation, the latest story from filmmaker Guy Nattiv (of Skin, Golda, Tatami). Formerly titled Harmonia (the name of the commune where they live), it's the story of a real cult that lured in women with a promise of freedom from their burdens. After premiering at the 2026 Telluride Film Festival, it has played at the Toronto, Mill Valley, Hamptons, Warsaw, London, Chicago, and Denver Film Festivals this fall. With a final release set to start in January in select theaters. Rita, a mother escaping the weight of a harrowing past, finds solace in a secluded all-women's cult – but when her daughters arrive she must choose between the new freedom she's found and the life she left behind. Based on a true story, inspired by Guy Nattiv's own grandmother & her experiences. The Liberation stars Carrie Coon as Rita, Lily James as cult leader Ricki, Bella Ramsey & Odessa Young as her two daughters, Siobhan Williams, Maia Michaels, and Tracy Letts. It's a solid film but not without some flaws, exploring some interesting territory with this cult and all the women and the mechanisms of the mental trap. If you're curious after the trailer, add this to your watchlist this winter. // Continue Reading ›

Watch: Insanely Gory 'Vikings Versus Cannibals' Animated Short Film

Let them fight! The ultimate battle between two brutal forces. But it seems one is more dangerous than the other... A brand new R-rated adult animation film has premiered. Ankama Animations presents a 14 minute animated short film titled Vikings Versus Cannibals – and it is indeed about Vikings fighting Cannibals on a remote desert island. A group of Viking warriors who consider themselves the fiercest fighters in the world land on a mysterious "red island," where they encounter and clash with cannibals. This is vicious! And totally ambitious and intense. I can't believe they made this!? The only places showing animation like this are Adult Swim and Netflix. Everyone else is afraid! Definitely NOT for kids and not something that I would recommend at work either - this is extremely violent and extremely gory and extra gross. It was released on Halloween over the weekend. "Discover the origins of the nightmare in this prequel to The Blood Island. 💀 Vikings or cannibals: Who would you rather have over for dinner?" Um how about neither?! Ha. Watch: Long Lost Animated 'Escape from Jurassic Park' Series Teaser

"Everyone in the world has the right to enjoy [this cartoon]." -Dr. Hammond. 🦕 Yes indeed! Journey back in time 33 years ago to the early 90s. In the summer of 1993, right when Steven Spielberg's dinosaur classic Jurassic Park became a massive hit in theaters, the studio started working on an animated spin-off series. Long before any of the sequels were ever made, long before any of the current Jurassic Park animated series were made (Jurassic World: Chaos Theory), they created this series called Escape from Jurassic Park. "The Jurassic Park anime that was never released to the public." The project was scrapped before it was ever finished and they never made full episodes. But all these years later a long lost promo video has suddenly resurfaced. And yes it's real. The JP fan site Jurassic Outpost has confirmed that its real and verified it with previously discovered production material. They explain: "Unlike other animated series, this was not meant to be a cartoon aimed at younger audiences, but rather targeted at the audience of the Jurassic Park film." This definitely looks & feels like 90s-style animation - but I'd still totally watch this now. Check it out below. // Continue Reading ›

This recently premiered at the 2026 Toronto Film Festival though reviews are quite mixed so far. Wrongful Conviction Story 'When A Witness Recants' Official Trailer

"I'm an innocent man." HBO Max has revealed the main official trailer for an acclaimed documentary film titled When a Witness Recants, retelling the story of three teenagers sent to prison for a murder – only to be found wrongfully convinced after 36 years in prison. This first premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to many superb reviews, with stops at Full Frame, Hot Docs, DC/DOX, and many other fests during the year. A 1983 Baltimore school murder led to 3 teens' wrongful imprisonment for 36 years. Rediscovering the story as an adult, acclaimed author Ta-Nehisi Coates, who grew up in the same West Baltimore community, learns the truth about the case of these three boys & comes to see it as both a crucial turning point for Baltimore's tight knit Black community and a glaring example of a broader national crisis of racially charged police misconduct. Using animated sequences, insight from the major players, and footage from depositions taken in 2022, the film details how coerced confessions & false testimony led to the convictions, revealing an egregious abuse of authority and prosecutorial malfeasance. An examination of how this case affected the accused, witnesses and their community. Directed by doc master filmmaker Dawn Porter as yet another of her latest hard-hitting stories about injustice and the truth. Don't skip over this one. // Continue Reading ›

Second Trailer for 'Pendulum' Horror Featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

"There is no such thing as death." Creepy! Vertical has unveiled the new official trailer for the indie horror film titled Pendulum, creeping its way into theaters in January 2027. An even scarier trailer than the first teaser! Pendulum is produced by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, because it's the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Mark Heyman – who (co-)wrote the script for Black Swan which got him a BAFTA nom. After a traumatic event a couple journeys to a retreat in New Mexico seeking healing. Patrick grows skeptical of the retreat's leader as Abigail falls under her influence. They start to wonder if the group's practices offer genuine healing – or conceal a terrifying truth that threatens to consume them both. I'm pretty sure it's the latter. The horror film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Phoebe Dynevor, along with Norman Reedus & Jacki Weaver. Heyman also states: "Pendulum is a deeply personal film, inspired by real, and really scary, experiences." This looks like an insane supernatural cult thriller with some very dark and eerie twists in it after the hypnotizing starts. Stay away from this cult! No way! Tread carefully viewing the new trailer below. // Continue Reading ›

"Sometimes I wonder if everything I remember is wrong... if everything is different." Signature Ent. in the UK has revealed a new official UK trailer for the romantic drama With You, Without You – releasing this November directly on VOD in the UK. This is the alternate title for the film known as Charlie Harper in the US, which released in September to dismal box office results. It first premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival last year to mostly good reviews. Emilia Jones and Nick Robinson star as the lovers Harper and Charlie trying to figure themselves out. Reviews state: "Charlie Harper may not redefine the genre, but it certainly earns its place among the more sincere depictions of young love..." Harper and Charlie try to build a life together after first falling in love. While Harper strives to carve out a career as a chef, Charlie is stuck without any path. Facing challenges in their romance, they struggle to prove they're meant for each other, but will their love be enough? Watch: Horror Short 'Project Shamrock' - Michael Myers Origin Story

"There seems to be an unhealthy fixation with harming children!" 🔪 Where did he come from? How did he become a supernatural murderer? Learn more about the origins of the evil Michael Myers in this long lost horror short - found recently and covertly uploaded online. Project Shamrock is a 5-minute horror film made by Canadian horror director Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun, Kids vs Aliens, Treevenge, "Dark Side of the Ring") that presents a fictionalized fan film version of how Myers from the Halloween series turned into this slasher villain. Starring Dave Brunt as The Janitor. This seems to be riffing on the recent "Crystal Lake" series which is an unnecessary origin story about Jason from the Friday the 13th movies. But it's also an homage to the terrific horror sequel Halloween III: Season of the Witch which introduced the sneaky Silver Shamrock Corporation. A good horror film to watch if you've never seen it before. Project Shamrock is a not-for-profit fan film, shot over two days on 16mm and 8mm film in Dartmouth and Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is rad! A clever, grainy, well-made horror tribute to the madness of Michael Myers. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

T.J. Power Reconnects with Alien Pal in 'Allen' Sci-Fi Comedy Trailer

"Allen did come halfway across the galaxy just to hang out with you!" "Uh, yeah he did." Netflix revealed their funny official trailer for the Australia sci-fi comedy titled simply Allen, made by the filmmakers Daley Pearson & Jeffrey Walker. Very similar to that other wacky alien friend movie Paul with Simon Pegg & Nick Frost from 2011 but with a few of its own quirks. 20 years after his original encounter with an alien, Petey never moved on. Now his old friend has returned to Earth, and the reason why is kind of complicated — and unexpected. What is he up to on our planet this time? Allen stars T.J. Power, Charlotte Nicdao, Josh Helman, Emily Barclay, and Benedict Hardie. Petey's childhood best friend, a little alien named Allen, vanished without any goodbye. Two decades later, Allen returns with a secret that could change the world, forcing Petey to finally grow up & help save it. This is made by Brisbane-based Ludo Studio, the same team behind Bluey and Thou Shalt Not Steal; Allen marks the studio’s first locally made live-action feature film for Netflix with filming across Queensland, including in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. This looks like it has a big twist and gets dark – I'm very intrigued to watch & see what they've been cooking up with the project. 👽  // Continue Reading ›

Intense Red Band Trailer for 'The Mosquito Bowl' WWII Okinawa Movie

"Marines! This is war! This is real war!" Netflix has revealed one more official trailer for Peter Berg's new WWII action thriller The Mosquito Bowl – full-on red band trailer with bloody violence following these boys onto Okinawa in The Pacific. It's hitting theaters this weekend before it's on Netflix later in November. Based on a remarkable true story (covered in this book), after the attack on Pearl Harbor, four of America's top college football stars set their fame aside to enlist in the US Marines. As the nation geared up for total war, one branch of the service dominated the aspirations of college football stars: the United States Marine Corps. This story is the retelling of a football match 🏈, on Christmas Eve of 1944, when the 4th and 29th Marine regiments found themselves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean training for what would ultimately be the bloodiest battle of the war ― the invasion of Okinawa ― their ranks included one of the greatest pools of football talent ever assembled: Former All Americans, captains from Wisconsin, Brown & Notre Dame, and many others. The movie's main cast features Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, Tom Francis, Brent Comer, Dominic Bogart. They played two other trailers for this movie already, but one more can't hurt as they're hoping it'll be a big war movie box office hit this fall... How brutal does that look? // Continue Reading ›

Amy Poehler & Hugh Laurie in Archaeologists Series 'Dig' Main Trailer

"I've been wanting to take over this dig for a very long time." Peacock has revealed the official trailer for a new series called Dig, set for a streaming debut on Peacock coming up in November. This plays like a wacky sitcom, created by Michael Schur (of "Parks & Rec", "Brooklyn Nine-Nine") and Amy Poehler together, but also plays like an adventure heist thriller movie. Four archaeologists are working at an excavation site in Greece when they discover a secret that puts them in the midst of an international conspiracy. Adapted from the book "Excavations" by Kate Myers. The book intro sets up the bigger archaeological concept better: "On a remote archeological site in Greece... four women discover an unusual artifact. It's a piece of history that definitely shouldn't exist. And for the head archaeologist in charge, a relic himself, it means something's gone horribly wrong... To figure out what they're really digging for, and to topple the man who wants to hide their history, these dirt-crusted colleagues have to become what they've avoided for years—friends. If they put their own messes aside for one summer, they might just make the discovery of a lifetime." Starring Amy Poehler, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, Fina Strazza, & Hugh Laurie. Chris Pratt & Jude Hill Co-Star in 'Way of the Warrior Kid' Movie Trailer

"Every kid needs someone in their corner." Time to man up? Apple TV has revealed their official trailer for the movie Way of the Warrior Kid, the latest movie directed by McG and starring Chris Pratt in a very generic "you gotta toughen up!" story about a bullied kid. Apple has this set for a streaming release on Apple TV starting November 25th just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday break. Alas it looks like one movie you can tell your family to skip watching this year. Chris Pratt & Jude Hill star in this coming-of-age drama. One summer to train. A new kind of courage. A self-doubting kid who gets bullied by his schoolmates learns to find his inner warrior with the help of his uncle, an elite Navy SEAL, who uses his SEAL training to guide the boy over the summer. Based on the bestselling novel by former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink. Starring Chris Pratt & Jude Hill, with Linda Cardellini, Jocko Willink, Levi McConaughey, Ava Torres, Darien Sills-Evans, Carl McDowell, Parker Young, & many more. This is clearly trying to be an inspiring and entertaining story for youngsters kind of like Karate Kid, but it comes across much more off-putting and awkward than invigorating. And it's just about working out? That's it? Sure, let's go hit the gym... Who's in? // Continue Reading ›

Final US Trailer for 'The Shadow's Edge' Tech Thriller with Jackie Chan

"All these years, I've never been caught on camera!" Shout Studios is releasing the VOD version of Chinese action movie The Shadow's Edge this fall. It originally played last year (and we featured trailers then) but now it's getting one final release in the US. This is the second Chinese action film Jackie Chan has made with director Larry Yang after also creating Ride On (2023) together before. "Trust collapses. Truth twists. No one's identity is safe. The hunt is on — step by step, move by move." The legend returns — Jackie Chan is back on the front line, facing off against criminal mastermind (Leung Ka Fai Tony) and his elite "Wolf Pack" in a full-throttle war of shadows and strategy. Lots of trickery going on. This also stars Zhang Zi Feng, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Ci Sha, Jun, and Zhou Zheng Jie. The studio also adds: "From the award-winning director of Ride On, two screen legends reunite for the first time in 20 years for this blistering and action-packed masterpiece."
