Michael Emery in Nightmarish Queer Erotic Thriller 'Birder' Fest Trailer
"Expectations are generally not good for your health." Can Tuna Films has debuted an official trailer for an indie film called Birder, marking the feature directorial debut of actor / filmmaker Nate Dushku. This first premiered at the 2023 OutSouth Queer Film Festival in North Carolina recently, and it's also playing at Out on Film, Seattle Queer Film Festival, and the San Antonio Q Fest. A bird watcher, Kristian Brooks invades a nude queer campground on a remote lake in New Hampshire. He wears whatever cover he needs to ensnare the locals in his dark fetish in this nightmarish erotic thriller. "Consent has never been more deadly," is the tagline. This guy is creepy! Michael Emery stars as Kristian, who manipulates the "others to serve his dark fetish while blurring the line between protagonist and antagonist." The film also stars David J. Cork, Cody Sloan, Jes Davis, Uki Pavlovic, Ryan Czerwonko, and Miles Crawford. This looks extremely provocative and edgy and explicit, certainly not for the faint of heart. Also - this trailer is definitely NSFW. // Continue Reading ›

Gorgeous Teaser Trailer for 'Scavengers Reign' Animated Sci-Fi Series
"This place... it's like a puzzle. Nothing really makes sense in the way we know it..." Max has revealed a teaser trailer for an animated sci-fi series called Scavengers Reign, created by animation filmmakers Joe Bennett & Charles Huettner based on their own short. This exquisite adventure is about a crew exploring a "hostile world allowed to thrive without human interference" on an "unforgiving alien planet." The visuals in this are absolutely incredible! While this look is common in graphic novels, I don't think we've ever seen anything like this on screen. The voice cast features Wunmi Mosaku, Bob Stephenson, Sunita Mani, Ted Travelstead, and Alia Shawkat. After their deep-space freighter is damaged, the stranded crew of the Demeter crash down on a beautiful yet dangerous planet. As the group uncovers the true nature of this place, they must do everything in their power to survive long enough to escape or be rescued. I am obsessed with how this looks! Every frame! All the hard sci-fi! Cannot wait to watch this and get immersed in it. This is only a teaser, even though it's a full 2 and 1/2 minutes long, so stay tuned for more preview footage soon. // Continue Reading ›

Teaser Trailer for 'The Toxic Avenger' Remake Starring Peter Dinklage
"That's what the kids are calling him, I think it's swell." Legendary has revealed the teaser trailer for The Toxic Avenger, the 2023 remake / update on this horror. The original The Toxic Avenger from 1984 is a Lloyd Kaufman / Troma horror cult classic, introducing the world to one of the most iconic mutant heroes "Toxie". Many sequels were made, and spin-offs, but now Troma has teamed up with Legendary for a brand new take. Macon Blair's The Toxic Avenger follows struggling everyman-janitor Winston Gooze (starring Peter Dinklage), who is transformed by a horrible toxic accident into a new evolution of hero: The Toxic Avenger! Now with super-human strength and wielding a glowing mop, he must race against time to save his son and stop a ruthless and power-hungry corporate tyrant bent on harnessing toxic superpowers. Official Trailer for Sci-Fi Horror Movie 'Blood & Snow' Set in the Arctic
"They found something out there... something buried in the cold." Black Mandala has revealed a trailer for an indie horror film from Canada called Blood & Snow, the latest from genre filmmaker Jesse Palangio. That is a remarkably generic title for this horror film, which also just seems like a sort of remake/remix of The Thing, with a similar premise. Two scientists uncover a meteorite impact site in the Arctic tundra, but it kills one scientist and infects the other. A nearby base takes in the lone survivor whilst trying to understand what happened. The lone survivor may not be the person they think she is. Of course not, have they ever seen The Thing – any three of the movies? Blood & Snow stars Simon Phillips, Vernon Wells, Anne-Carolyne Binette, Blake Canning, Michael Swatton, & Brianna Ripley. It has played at a few genre fests already, starting at HorrorHound in Cincinnati, and it's still waiting to get a final US release date set. // Continue Reading ›

Review: Sci-Fi Action 'The Creator' - This Movie Isn't Really About A.I.
"Whose side are you on, huh?" Let's get right into it – time to dig into this one... For the record, I've been a huge fan of Gareth Edwards ever since his first feature Monsters, writing a glowing review out of Cannes 2010 after catching a small screening. Now 13 years later he's back with another original sci-fi movie titled The Creator, a big budget studio picture that is entirely his idea. The script is credited to Gareth Edwards and Chris Weitz, but Edwards gets the sole "Story by" credit on this movie. First things first, The Creator is visually astonishing and deserves to be seen on the big screen for the visuals alone. However, the rest of the movie feels rather empty, without much of a story besides another Lone Wolf and Cub rehash built into a bigger A.I. vs humans / America vs Asia world. Despite the movie being set in the future where humanoid robots are as common as regular fleshy human beings, it needs to be stated clearly – this movie isn't actually about Artificial Intelligence at all. It's really another Vietnam War tale turned into an action sci-fi spectacle. // Continue Reading ›

Hulu's Capitalism Grind Thriller 'The Mill' Trailer with Lil Rel Howery
"You still don't believe the rules apply to you. Perhaps you would respond to other incentives." Hulu has unveiled an official trailer for a sci-fi thriller called The Mill, directed by filmmaker Sean King O'Grady. Yet another new "Huluween" special offering coming to the streaming service in October. A businessman wakes up in an open-air prison cell with only an old grist mill. Forced to work as a beast of burden, he must find a way to escape before the birth of his child. This is so obviously a capitalism metaphor, literally making him grind away at a mill just to make enough for him to one day "be free". Lil Rel Howery stars, along with Pat Healy, Karen Obilom, and Patrick Fischler. This clearly connects back to the brilliant Spanish film The Platform, with a similar concept, both critiquing the endless mill of capitalism. Might be worth a watch. // Continue Reading ›

Amazing First Trailer for 'The Invisible Fight' Estonian Martial Arts Film
"The demons are your own thoughts. You must fight against them!" There's a must see early festival trailer available online for an Estonian film called The Invisible Fight, a martial arts comedy made by filmmaker Rainer Sarnet (also of the cult hit November). This first premiered at the 2023 Locarno Film Festival, and just played at Fantastic Fest, with a stop at the Sitges Film Festival next. Kino Lorber in the US has already picked up distribution rights, with plans to release it in early 2024. Add it to your watchlist!! The Invisible Fight is described as a satirical take on the martial arts film, artfully paying tribute to the genre’s Chinese wuxia roots through a Northern European story. Set in the 1970s, it's about a guard on the Soviet-Chinese border who, after surviving a deadly attack, decides to become a monk but must continually prove along the way that he's capable of becoming the enlightened man that he set out to be. Starring Ursel Tilk as Rafael. "Delightfully inventive and riotously funny, The Invisible Fight makes it clear that the joy of kung fu cinema is celebrated worldwide, even as far as Estonia." Quick First Look Teaser for Netflix's 'Robbie Williams' Biopic Doc Series
"Raw. Honest. Real." Netflix has revealed a first look teaser trailer for their next musician doc series called Robbie Williams, which is obviously about the singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. So many docs from the music industry, it's pretty much just a part of their marketing & promotion packages nowadays. Despite good talent being involved on the filmmaking side! This four-part documentary series goes behind the eyes of the biggest UK solo artist of all time, Robbie Williams. Featuring hundreds of hours of intimate, never-before-seen personal archive spanning 30 years, by an acclaimed filmmaking team including director Joe Pearlman and Asif Kapadia (Senna, Amy, Diego Maradona) as an executive producer. Not everyone in the US may be a big fan of Robbie, because: His discography includes seven UK No. 1 singles, and all but one of his 14 studio albums have reached No. 1 in the UK. Though not in the US. Six of his albums are among the top 100 biggest-selling albums in the UK, with 2 of them in the top 60. Stay tuned for a full trailer later on. // Continue Reading ›

Extra UK Trailer for France's 'Anatomy of a Fall' Starring Sandra Hüller
"I didn't realize it was so high..." "Yeah." Picturehouse in the UK has unveiled a new official UK trailer for the acclaimed French drama Anatomy of a Fall. There has already been one US trailer from last month, but now that a UK date is set, it's getting another promo. The film is the big Palme d'Or winner this year from the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and it's also playing at TIFF and NYFF. The legal procedural thriller is about a German woman who's suspected of her husband's murder after he falls out a window in their French Alps mountain home. Their blind son faces a moral dilemma as the sole witness, though only from what he heard. The story is very clearly inspired by real life the case of Michael Peterson (with the gender swapped for his character), which was covered in The Staircase series. The film stars Sandra Hüller as Sandra, joined by Swann Arlaud, Milo Machado Graner, Antoine Reinartz, and Samuel Theis, directed by Justine Triet. It's one of the most talked about films of 2023 and will likely pull in audiences curious to find out what it's all about. Opening in the US in October, then in the UK on November 10th this fall. "This doesn't end, until you die!" Netflix has revealed a teaser for a bloody animated series called Blue Eye Samurai, from co-creators Amber Noizumi & Michael Green (writer of Logan & Blade Runner 2049). It's described as "unapologetically adults-only... from tragic to poetic to barbaric and occasionally erotic." Set in 1633 Japan during the Edo period, the series stars Maya Erskine as Mizu, a hardened fighter. She knows there were only four white men in Japan at the time of her birth and sets off to kill these men, one of whom might be her father, who made her a "creature of shame." But revenge is not an option for women, so Mizu must forge her revenge quest while hiding her gender as well as her blue eyes. The voice cast includes George Takei, Masi Oka, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Brenda Song, Darren Barnet, Randall Park, and Kenneth Branagh; with special guests Stephanie Hsu, Ming-Na Wen, and Harry Shum Jr. Uh yeah this looks awesome!! Official Trailer for Bono's New 'Peter & The Wolf' Animated Short Film
"If we look closer, what we find in the darkness might surprise us..." Max has unveiled an official trailer for an animated short film streaming this fall called Peter and The Wolf. Yes, another version of this classic story, this time coming from the mind of U2's Bono. Featuring music and narration by Gavin Friday, and artwork based on original illustrations by Bono. After the success of Apple's The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse, everyone is trying to make more films like this. The short transforms Sergei Prokofiev's classic symphony into a film that touches on themes of growing up, loss, courage, and our relationship with nature. The project was originally developed back in 2003 by Gavin Friday and Bono in support of Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF), a national charity supporting those facing dying, death and bereavement. 30 years later they've got a final version ready. Upon hearing stories of a wolf on the loose, Peter decides to explore the vast meadow and forest nearby to try and find the wolf himself. Along the way he encounters creatures who help him on his quest while contending with hunters trying capturing the wolf. Might be cool? Check it out. // Continue Reading ›

Korea's 'Yellow Door: 90s Lo-fi Film Club' Doc Trailer w/ Bong Joon-ho

It's premiering soon at the 2023 Busan Film Festival in Korea, and will be available to watch worldwide on Netflix starting later in October. Before the renaissance of Korean cinema today, there was the film club, Yellow Door. Official Trailer for 4K Restoration of 'Victims of Sin' Mexican Film Noir
"A film that shocks! A picture that dazzles! An experience that thrills!" Janus Films has revealed a brand new official trailer for a 4K restoration of Victims of Sin, a 1951 classic Mexican film from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, written and directed by Emilio Fernández. It's ready for a proper cinema re-release in the US, with a run at the Film Forum cinema in NYC starting in a few weeks. Set in México City, a famous Cuban dancer from "Cabaret Changó" rescues a baby from a garbage can and decides to raise him, but her pachuco pimp gets in her way. Of course. IDescribed as a "blend of film noir, melodrama, and musical", the film has rarely been seen in the US, with the first release in Mexico in 1951. It stars acting-dancing sensation Ninón Sevilla, plus Tito Junco and Rodolfo Acosta, with cinematography by the legendary Gabriel Figueroa. Fernández explains: "I tried to make films with a relentless and direct style, where I emphasized the strength and beauty of Mexico, because Mexico has an unsettling duality: it is a people of masks and of full transparency." This looks like a stellar picture that seems like it'll be thrilling to enjoy on the big screen. // Continue Reading ›

Phoebe Dynevor in Spicy Second Trailer for Chloe Domont's 'Fair Play'

This premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January, and it's set to open in theaters in October very soon (first trailer here). An incredibly taut thriller set on Wall Street. An unexpected promotion at a cutthroat hedge fund in NYC pushes a young couple’s relationship to the brink, threatening to unravel far more than their recent engagement. Phoebe Dynevor stars as Emily (in an earth-shattering, career-making performance), with Alden Ehrenreich as Luke, and a cast with Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer, Sebastian De Souza, Sia Alipour, and Brandon Bassir. I wrote in my glowing review from Sundance, after watching the audience burst into huge applause at the end: "I absolutely loved this film, I felt the exhilaration build inside of me. First Teaser for Matthew Vaughn's 'Argylle' with Bryce Dallas Howard
"Once you discover the secret, don't let the cat out of the bag." Universal has revealed an official trailer for Matthew Vaughn's latest movie, another spy thriller called Argylle, which is also an Apple Original Films presentation, in association with MARV. However, it's getting a full theatrical release worldwide in February 2024 early next year (it'll likely appear on Apple TV+ eventually but only after cinemas). From the twisted mind of Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman franchise, Kick-Ass) comes Argylle, a razor-witted, reality-bending, globe-encircling spy thriller. The world's greatest spy, called "Argylle" (not "argyle" like the fabric pattern), gets caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. Bryce Dallas Howard stars as Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, who gets mixed up with a real spy organization. On the High Plains of the USA, a small city, sustained & grown for decades by continual immigration, struggles to cope with threats to its way of life – in the form of violent white supremacists, and the convulsive politics of the last three years. The film profiles a local man who infiltrates them, partnering with the FBI and risking his life to bring the domestic terrorists to justice. Props to this guy. The film is half animation, half real footage of the town; it reminds me of the other Oscar-nominated animated doc Flee from a few years ago, also about refugees. This one also looks like a harrowing true story, one that we should all be more aware of. The poster art is excellent, nice to see something unique. // Continue Reading ›

Full Trailer for 'Life on Our Planet' Prehistoric Animals of Earth Series
"Who will rise? Who will fall? Who will rule the world?" Netflix has revealed the main official trailer for a prehistoric animals adventure series called Life on Our Planet, arriving for streaming later this October. Not to be confused with the excellent, must watch documentary David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet that has a very similar name. From Executive Producer Steven Spielberg and the Emmy Award-winning team behind Our Planet comes this new series. This is the story of life's epic, four billion-year journey on Earth, told through its ruling dynasties, the underdogs who defied the odds to survive, and the cataclysmic events that reshaped it. "This is the story of Life on Our Planet" - featuring narration by the one-and-only Morgan Freeman. This is clearly Netflix's version of Apple TV+'s Prehistoric Planet series (made by BBC) - same exact concept and ancient creatures being brought to vivid life on screen. "There was utter hatred in this town..." HBO has unveiled an official trailer for a documentary film titled Last Stop Larrimah, an "extremely strange and captivating small-town mystery" from Down Under. This originally premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival earlier this year, and it's now set to debut streaming on Max starting in October. Nestled deep in the Australian Outback is the town of Larrimah (see Google Maps) and its 11 eccentric residents. When one of them mysteriously disappears into thin air, the remaining residents become suspects and a long history of infighting is unveiled. After this man and his dog disappear, the remaining residents become suspects and the filmmaker's get into some strange history turning over stones. Described in reviews as "a truly crazy entry into the true crime documentary pantheon." Venice 2023: 'The Theory of Everything' is a Confusing Multiverse Tale
The multiverse subgenre of cinema is growing. There are a handful of new films every year exploring this uncharted new territory, experimenting with big ideas and mind-bending storytelling. Not every story will work, though, not every equation will produce a correct answer. Even though this film has quite a few issues with it, I still can't stop thinking about it – weeks after first seeing it at the 2023 Venice Film Festival. The Theory of Everything (originally Die Theorie von Allem in German) is a German-Austrian-Swiss co-production from a German filmmaker named Timm Kröger (also the director of The Council of Birds). Not to be confused with the Oscar winning biopic (from 2014) about Stephen Hawking also called The Theory of Everything, this German The Theory of Everything is a unique multiverse tale. It's one of the first clever attempts at mixing film noir with multiverse theory, integrating quantum mechanics thinking into a shady characters mystery plot. Most of it is rather confounding and strange, the film doesn't quite come together as coherently it should, but it's still worth mentioning as another experiment in this intellectual subgenre. // Continue Reading ›

'Common Ground' Doc Trailer About Regenerative Farming in America
"Let's prioritize the farmer!" Yes! Join in and support them and buy from the good ones. An official trailer has debuted for a documentary film called Common Ground, the definitive doc about the Save Our Soil movement. It's a follow-up to the massive successful doc Kiss the Ground (from 2020) about "Regenerative Agriculture". Narrated by Laura Dern, the film presents an urgent message about the poisonous practices within American food systems. At the forefront are the farmers & families who have lived through tragedy & illness at the hands of government policies that favor Big Ag and big profits. In acknowledging how racism has forged today’s farming industry, regenerative farmers are returning to pre-colonial practices pioneered by indigenous and Black farmers to restore soil, keep Americans alive, and leave a legacy for generations to follow. Sounds great! Featuring celebrity actors, activists and philanthropists Rosario Dawson, Laura Dern, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Jason Momoa (who's also in Deep Rising), and plenty of interviews with many farmers, ranchers, scientists, educators, allies and beyond. "There is hope!" That's what I like to hear. // Continue Reading ›

Vintage Trailer - Three Stories in 'Night Train to Terror' 1985 Horror
"There is only one master! And his name is Satan!" 😈 Vinegar Syndrome has re-released a long lost 1985 horror anthology film called Night Train to Terror. They have put out a brand new Blu-ray / DVD set in its original aspect ratio and restored in 2K from the original 35mm film elements. Never heard of this flick? With Halloween season a few weeks away, check out the vintage trailer for it posted by VS. God and Satan are on a train discussing the fate of three individuals. The stories of the people in question are told in a trio of very wacky vignettes. One involves an insane asylum with very strange treatment plans. Another is about a Russian roulette "death club." The finale shows us the adventures of a server of Satan in a story about the Holocaust. Starring Cameron Mitchell, Ferdy Mayne, John Phillip Law, Maurice Grandmaison, Richard Moll, Faith Clift, Merideth Haze, and Sharon Ratcliff. This looks like some bonkers 1980s horror madness! Love the demons and all the practical gore and FX. Looks like a good one to catch up with. // Continue Reading ›

Netflix Doc Series 'Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul' Official Trailer
"I don't think anyone could have anticipated how many children would want this product." Uh huh, sure. Netflix has debuted an official trailer for another tech business documentary series called Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul, arriving for streaming next month. Directed by R.J. Cutler (of the Belushi doc), this is produced by Amblin Television & TIME Studios. Big Vape tells the high-drama, rags-to-riches story of the controversial electronic cigarette company Juul which transformed from a scrappy Silicon Valley tech start-up run by two idealistic Stanford graduate students intent on making the world a better place into a multi-billion-dollar tobacco company that sparked an epidemic of youth addiction & lung disease. Perhaps not everyone has heard of Juul before, but they certainly made an impact (for worse) jumping on the vaping bandwagon. Another tale of greed and ignorance, with businessmen trying to make money without realizing the real harm they're doing. How many more stories like this will be told before things change? Official Trailer for William Friedkin's 'The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial'
"He was a petty tyrant and utterly incompetent." Showtime has unveiled an official trailer for filmmaker William Friedkin's final film titled The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, arriving for streaming in October. This recently premiered at the 2023 Venice Film Festival out of competition. It was shot in early 2023, with Guillermo del Toro shadowing Friedkin on set; Friedkin passed away in August just before he could attend the premiere. Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, based on the acclaimed novel / play, follows a U.S. naval first officer who's standing trial for orchestrating a mutiny after his captain shows signs of becoming unhinged and jeopardizes the lives of his crew. It's one of the best plays as a film I've ever seen - here's my full review. A gripping, fascinating intellectual examination of authority and insanity. Plenty to discuss. Friedkin's The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial stars Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Clarke, Jake Lacy, Monica Raymund, Lewis Pullman, Jay Duplass, Tom Riley and Lance Reddick. Damn fine film that gets into some very tricky topics, with some exceptional performance across the board. I highly recommend watching this film. // Continue Reading ›

Epic French Sci-Fi Movie 'L'Empire' from Bruno Dumont - First Trailer
"The Prince of Darkness must be removed from the face of the Earth." ARP Selection in France has revealed the first look official trailer for a sci-fi epic called L'Empire, which translates to The Empire in English. It's the latest film from French filmmaker Bruno Dumont (of Twentynine Palms, Hadewijch, Slack Bay, Joan of Arc, France) and was originally rumored to premiere in Cannes, though it never showed up. Now set to open in France in March 2024. "Between Ma Loute and The Life of Jesus, between heaven and earth, Bruno Dumont offers us his caustic, cruel and crazy vision of Star Wars." That's their description. A small village of Northern France is the battleground of undercover extraterrestrial knights. Starring a big French cast: Virginie Efira, Lily-Rose Depp, Camille Cottin, Lyna Khoudri, Anamaria Vartolomei, with Fabrice Luchini. This has spaceships galore, ethereal aliens, lightsabers, religious metaphors, French sex jokes, and all kinds of other crazy sci-fi things going on. Whoa! But will it be any good? Trailer for Kennebeck's 'Reality Winner' Doc About the Whistleblower
"I really thought that the whole world can be changed for the better with one deed..." Codebreaker Films has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film titled Reality Winner, which is indeed about the US whistleblower named Reality Winner, directed by Sonia Kennebeck. This originally premiered under the title United States vs. Reality Winner, playing at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival and CPH:DOX and DOC NYC that year. It has taken two years for them to finally secure a release in select US theaters starting this October. "Would you risk your freedom to protect democracy?" The incredible true story of Reality Winner in her own words. Filmed over five years, this is the only documentary about the young NSA whistleblower Reality Winner, who exposed Russian interference in U.S. elections and went to jail for it. With exclusive access to Reality Winner and the media outlet involved in her arrest. Should play well as a double feature with HBO's cinematic version of her arrest - Reality starring Sydney Sweeney. Boring Action Epic 'Boudica: Queen Of War' Trailer with Olga Kurylenko
"We are in a time of extreme peril, we fight for our freedom!" Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for a historical epic called Boudica: Queen of War, the latest action film from this guy named Jesse V. Johnson who keeps making trash action trash films year-after-year. It's inspired by the true story of Boudica - who was a queen of the ancient British Iceni tribe, who led a failed uprising against the conquering forces of the Roman Empire in AD 60 or 61. She is considered a British national heroine and a symbol of the struggle for justice and independence. Ukrainian-French actress Olga Kurylenko stars as the titular hero. The eponymous Celtic warrior who rules the Iceni people alongside her husband Prasutagus. The King dies at the hands of Roman soldiers, leaving Boudica's kingdom without a male heir and the Romans seize her land and property. But she will rally her people and fight back! Or die trying. This also stars Clive Standen as Prasutagus, Peter Franzén, Rita Tushingham, Leo Gregory, Nick Moran, James Faulkner, and Lucy Martin. The Power of Illusions - Special Powers Action Film 'Awareness' Trailer

Save the Oceans! 'Deep Rising' Doc Trailer - Narrated by Jason Momoa
"4000M down on the ocean floor, another energy revolution is underway." Abramorama has unveiled an official trailer for an important eco documentary called Deep Rising, from filmmaker Matthieu Rytz. This premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and I wrote a rave review of the film which is now quoted in this trailer. As the world attempts to slowly transition away from using fossil fuels, the fate of the ocean has now fallen into the hands of major extractive conglomerates as they turn their attention to strip mining the deep ocean for all it's worth. Narrated by Jason Momoa, Deep Rising is the first ever film about manganese nodules and nodule mining. "In a riveting tale of geopolitical, corporate and scientific intrigue, [it] sheds light on the secretive International Seabed Authority (ISA), responsible for nearly half our planet's surface on the ocean floor, highlighting the vital need to protect the seabed as the common heritage of humankind and stressing the urgency of responsible choices for future generations." Bobby Cannavale & Bokeem Woodbine in Bill Burr's 'Old Dads' Trailer
"Maybe I'm not cut out for this... but I'd do anything for my kid." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a comedy called Old Dads, marking the feature directorial debut of comedian / actor Bill Burr. Burr co-writes, directs, produces and stars in this film for Netflix. Thankfully it doesn't seem to have anything to do with Wild Hogs or anything else like that. Burr co-stars with Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine, who play the titular "old dads". Three best friends become fathers later in life and find themselves battling preschool principals, millennial CEOs and anything created after 1987. The comedy cast also includes Katie Aselton, Reign Edwards, Rachael Harris, Miles Robbins, and Jackie Tohn. Trailer #2 for 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'
"They're to punish the districts. Those tributes don't have a choice..." Lionsgate launched a second trailer for the prequel spin-off movie The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, also based on Suzanne Collins' other new book. It's set 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem. Leading up to the 10th Hunger Games, Snow mentors and develops feelings for the female District 12 tribute, Lucy Gray. So this is pretty much just Hunger Games all over again – but set in the past. It's explores the origins of this brutal ritual and how it's used as a method of control. Rachel Zegler (from Spielberg's West Side Story) stars as Lucy Gray Baird, and Tom Blyth (from "Billy the Kid") is co-starring as Coriolanus Snow. It's directed again by Francis Lawrence, who also made The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and the two Mockingjay movies. The main cast features Viola Davis, Peter Dinklage, Burn Gorman, Jason Schwartzman, Hunter Schafer, Fionnula Flanagan, and Ashley Liao.
