Lionsgate UK has unveiled the first official trailer for the indie film The Personal History of David Copperfield, the latest feature made by acclaimed UK satirist Armando Iannucci (of In the Loop, The Death of Stalin). This premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and also plays as the Opening Film at the London Film Festival this week. An avid Dickens fan, Iannucci adapts his story along with frequent collaborator Simon Blackwell, employing his comedic mastery and vivid characterizations to bring to life one of Dickens' most cherished characters in The Personal History of David Copperfield. Set in Victorian England, the film follows Dev Patel playing Copperfield as he encounters all kinds of characters throughout his life.
