Minister for Petroleum Omar Ayub chaired a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday to review strategies to reform Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) to bring it at par with efficient and modern mineral organizations of the world.
Acting Managing Director Qazi Sajid gave a presentation to the federal minister on the operational details of PMDC.
The Minister stressed on the need to invest in research and development, capacity building, reorienting the organization and leading focused efforts to reach its true potential.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Nadeem Babar, who was also present at the meeting, urged the Board of Directors to ensure that PMDC must make optimum use of its existing resource base to expand its operations and make concerted efforts to tap into unexplored markets.
