Netflix has revealed the full-length official trailer for The Trial of the Chicago 7, the new film both written and directed by Aaron Sorkin. This first teaser trailer was awesome - this film looks incredible. I can't wait to watch! The very timely film tells the story of seven people on trial stemming from various protest-related charges surrounding the uprising at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois. Lead by an extraordinary ensemble cast: Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jeremy Strong, Mark Rylance, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Frank Langella, John Carroll Lynch, Alex Sharp, Ben Shenkman, Kelvin Harrison Jr, and J.C. MacKenzie. The film will open in at least eight theaters on September 25th, later launching streaming on Netflix later in October. Giant Pictures has released an official trailer for The Complex: Lockdown, a feature film based on the interactive sci-fi thriller full-motion video game The Complex - first released earlier this year. Essentially a feature film tie-in for the video game. After a major bio-weapon attack on London, two scientists debate whether to save a suspected terrorist’s life. However, assassins have infiltrated the building and soon our scientists find themselves with time, and options, running out. The cast includes Michelle Mylett, Kate Dickie, Okorie Chukwu, Kim Adis, Rachel Petladwala, and Al Weaver. In terms of video game movies, this looks awful. In terms of movies in general, this looks like a complete mess. Doesn't even make any sense. Skip this - it's not worth it. ›››

Official Trailer for Music Doc 'White Riot' About Rock Against Racism

"Bang! There was this incredible cultural explosion going on." Film Movement has released an official US trailer for an acclaimed rock doc titled White Riot, which originally premiered at the London Film Festival last year. It also played at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, and a few other fests. Their description of White Riot: "From The Clash and Joy Division to The Specials, a host of British bands joined forces in 1978 to counter the rise of the neo-fascist British National Front and increasing racial violence. Under the Rock Against Racism (RAR) initiative, they staged special concerts and took a decisive stand against marginalisation. Punk rock’s influence on this anti-fascist movement proved to be very effective. With a nod to the aesthetics of fanzine culture and featuring previously unreleased archival concert footage and interviews with activists, the film examines the context in which the movement arose while drawing striking parallels to our current situation." Adapted from Jo Brand's novel and set to the songs of The Smiths, The More You Ignore Me is a darkly funny coming-of-age story of dysfunctional family life in the 1980s. The film focuses on Gina, a young mother, whose efforts to be a loving mother & wife are undermined by her declining mental health. Things deteriorate once she develops an obsession with the local weatherman, which leads to an admission to the nearby psychiatric hospital. Starring Sheridan Smith as Gina and Ella Hunt (from Anna and the Apocalypse), with Mark Addy, Sally Phillips, Sheila Hancock, and Jo Brand. Blissfully unaware of what's happening, they are left to their own devices as the planet falls under attack. "What if you unplugged from technology for a week and really reconnected with your partner? It’s not like the world would end, right? Right? Right?" Starring John Reynolds and Sunita Mani as Jack and Su, with a small cast also including Ben Sinclair, John Early, and Jo Firestone. This is a great trailer, I just wish it was only the old B&W trailer and not the bookends. But still! The voiceover is perfect. And the description of the story is hilarious. ›››
