RLJE Films has unveiled an official trailer for an indie documentary titled You Don't Nomi, a cine-essay doc about the film Showgirls. When Paul Verhoeven's follow-up to Basic Instinct, the strip club drama Showgirls opened in 1995, it bombed big time and ended the Hollywood career of quite a few people. You Don't Nomi traces the film's redemptive journey from notorious flop to cult classic, and maybe even masterpiece. This initially premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, and will be available to watch on VOD this summer. First Trailer for Buried-in-Snow Freezing Survival Thriller 'Centigrade'

"We don't know what's out there." Signature Ent. in the UK has debuted an official trailer for Centigrade, a snowy, cold survival thriller based on a true story from 2002. A young American couple travel to the arctic mountains of Norway. After pulling over during a snowstorm, they wake up trapped in their SUV, buried underneath layers of snow and ice. In addition to the woman being pregnant, they must battle -30° Celsius temperatures, hallucinations, and hypothermia in their struggle to survive. Starring Genesis Rodriguez and Vincent Piazza as the couple. This looks like a cross between Arctic and Buried, not only dealing with being stuck in a car but also the freezing cold temperature and unending snow. Looks quite chilling indeed. ›››

Watch: Álvaro García's 3D Animated Sci-Fi Short 'The Seed of Juna'

"What is the 'new existence?'" "A fresh start." Time to finally dive into this crazy 3D animated short film The Seed of Juna, the latest creation from acclaimed Spanish VFX filmmaker Álvaro García Martínez (aka Álvaro García). He also made the short Sumer which we featured years ago, and has since landed gigs working for ILM and MPC. He has been working on this pilot project in the meantime, an epic sci-fi fantasy tale of a young human woman who wakes up on another world. "As she comes to accept her disposition in a new and frightening place, Juna discovers she’s not alone. Her previous beliefs and convictions come under scrutiny as she faces off a mysterious life form - the Omkai." Featuring the voices of Laura Garnier, Dean Michael Gregory, and David L. Stricklan. Scott Adkins stars as Martin Baxter, an ex-MI6 agent who is thrown back into the world of espionage and high stakes to uncover the shocking truth about operations conducted by unknown secret services. Martin finds himself in the crosshairs of both UK and Russian intelligence, with a threat on his family putting even more pressure on him to deliver. Also starring Anna Butkevych, Honor Kneafsey, Andrea Vasiliou, Martin McDougall, Matt Mitler, Marco Robinson, Victor Solé, and Yuliia Sobol. This looks like every other spy action thriller, with all the same warehouses and underground bunkers and colorful bars where KGB agents appear. Official Trailer for Joko Anwar's Indonesian Superhero Film 'Gundala'

"Who are you?" "The people." Well Go USA has released an official US trailer for the Indonesian superhero action movie Gundala, from writer / director Joko Anwar. Indonesia's preeminent comic book superhero and his alter ego Sancaka enter the cinematic universe to battle the wicked Pengkor and his diabolical squad of orphan assassins. While it may look like this character was made for the big screen, he originally comes from an Indonesian comic book series of the same name. Follow the story of Sancaka, an orphan who lost his father during a riot, intertwined with Pengkor, an orphan who (also) lost his father during a riot. One got struck by lightning, the other got burned by fire. Starring Abimana Aryasatya as the heroic Gundala, and Bront Palarae as Pengkor, with Tara Basro, Ario Bayu, and Lukman Sardi. This looks like a badass superhero movie! Fun to see different versions of superheroes from other countries. Seems worth a watch. ›››
