Blake Lively Aims For Revenge in First Trailer for 'The Rhythm Section'

"I'm going to say this once - even if you succeed, it won't be worth it." Paramount has finally unveiled an official trailer for The Rhythm Section, an adaptation of the best-selling novel - the first book from the "Stephanie Patrick Thrillers" series by Mark Burnell. This film was originally scheduled to open at the end of the summer, but Paramount pushed it all the way back until late January in 2020. The Rhythm Section is about a woman who takes on the identity of an assassin in order to seek out and get revenge on those who orchestrated a plane crash that killed her family. Blake Lively stars as Stephanie Patrick, joined by Jude Law, Max Casella, Daniel Mays, Richard Brake, Raza Jaffrey, Tawfeek Barhom, and Sterling K. Brown. This is a rather exciting first look at the international spy thriller, I love the music choice and the steely cold intensity of it all. Yet Another New Trailer for Gomez-Rejon's 'The Current War' Movie

"You are building miracles out of thin air!" 101 Studios has just released a second official trailer for The Current War (the "Director's Cut"), following their first trailer. This originally premiered at the Toronto Film Festival a few years ago, but got caught up in the Weinstein debacle. With more time following dismal reviews at TIFF, the film has been re-edited and tweaked, ready to be presented again in select theaters this fall. From Me and Earl and the Dying Girl director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, comes this dramatic, "electric" thriller about the early days of electricity and light bulbs, and the major business-vs-innovation battle of wits. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison, Michael Shannon as George Westinghouse, and Nicholas Hoult as Nikola Tesla, also joined by Katherine Waterston, Tom Holland, Tuppence Middleton, Damien Molony, and Matthew Macfadyen. Signature Entertainment in the UK have debuted this official UK trailer for the Norwegian true story drama Congo, originally titled Mordene i Kongo (which translates to The Murders in Congo). In the spring of 2009 two Norwegian adventurers, Joshua French and Tjostolv Moland, are accused of killing their hired driver just before crossing into the eastern Congo. The following manhunt starts a political and diplomatic headache. Congo is the unfathomable and controversial real-life story and murder case that shocked the world. Described as "hard-hitting and often harrowing" in reviews. Aksel Hennie (from The Martian) and Tobias Santelmann (from The Last Kingdom) star as the friends whose journey into the Congo turns into a waking nightmare. First Trailer for Space Station Survival Thriller '3022' with Omar Epps

"We're all that's left!" An official trailer has arrived for an intriguing indie sci-fi film titled 3022, the latest from producer / director John Suits (The Scribbler, Pandemic). It's hard to tell if that title refers to the year, or something else. The film is about a crew of four astronauts stuck on a dying space station after Earth experiences a cataclysmic event. They watch this happen, then spend the rest of the time trying to figure out what to do and how to survive. Starring Omar Epps, with Kate Walsh, Miranda Cosgrove, Jorja Fox, Angus Macfadyen, and Audrey Looye. This really doesn't look too bad. Way too many lens flares being used, but otherwise seems like a much better take on the concept from The Cloverfield Project about people trapped in space when Earth suddenly goes bye bye. Corporate Monster is the latest film by Irish filmmaker Ruairi Robinson, who we are big fans of here at FS. Over the years we've featured his other sci-fi shorts including Blinky and The Leviathan. Inspired by the current state of the world, which Robinson rather aptly describes as "f*cked", Corporate Monster tells the story of a man who loses his job and "starts to believe that parasitic creatures are controlling the world." It's basically They Live remade by Neill Blomkamp, filtered through Robinson's mind. The short film stars Kett Turton and Jenna Coleman.
