Oona Chaplin Conjures a Nightmare in Chilling Horror 'Lullaby' Trailer

"She's strong… but she's not as strong as faith." Vertical Entertainment has released an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Lullaby, directed by the DP / filmmaker John R. Leonetti - who doesn't exactly have the most impressive filmography (e.g. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, The Butterfly Effect 2, Annabelle, Wolves at the Door). Landing in theaters in just a few weeks. A new mother who discovers a lullaby in an ancient book and soon regards the song as a blessing. But her world transforms into a nightmare when the lullaby brings forth the ancient demon Lilith — from the Hebrew phrase "Lilith-Abi" which translates to "Lilith, begone." Lullaby stars Oona Chaplin, with Rámon Rodríguez, Liane Balaban, Kira Guloien, and Moni Ogunsuyi. This looks like a mostly derivative, generic horror without anything new to offer us. Impressive Full Trailer for 'The Last of Us' Series with Pedro Pascal

"You've come this far, then you know what's out there…" HBO has debuted a full-length official trailer for their highly anticipated post-apocalyptic survival series The Last of Us, based on the popular video game series. It's now set to start streaming in mid January just over a month from now. Joel and Ellie, a pair connected through the harshness of the world they live in, are forced to endure brutal circumstances and ruthless killers on a trek across post-pandemic America. This "get her to the right people" plot reminds me of Children of Men. This stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Elli, with Gabriel Luna, Nick Offerman, Merle Dandridge, Murray Bartlett, Jeffrey Pierce, Melanie Lynskey, and Anna Torv. Original game composer Gustavo Santaolalla is scoring, and Kantemir Balagov (of Beanpole) directs the pilot ep. Said to be the largest TV production in Canadian history. Still looks great! This is a fantastic trailer, with "Take On Me" somehow being perfect. A video game adaptation that might turn out just right. ›››

Watch: Animated African Fable Short Film - 'The Voice in the Hollow'

"Cross through the flames, huntress." You've never seen any short film like this before. The Voice in the Hollow is an animated short film created by Miguel Ortega and Tran Ma. Described as "an African fable of sisterhood, envy and ancient evil", it tells the story of Ala and Coa from the Leopards tribe. When her sister outshines her once again, Coa meets a mysterious entity, the morning star and the bestower of gifts, that can grant her wish… It's animated and rendered with the Unreal Engine 5, though it has a stop-motion look and feel. At first glance I thought this was made with marionettes and miniature sets, but it's all CGI and looks incredible. The film features the voices of Janeth Makungo, Rosalie Akinyi, Goodluck Gabriel, and Kaitlyn O'Connell. It's a very dark tale with some seriously frightening imagery, but that's part of why this is a one-of-a-kind creation. I really dig the masks in this, everything about its visual style is stunning. Fun Trailer for The Asylum's 'Avatar' Spoof Movie 'Battle for Pandora'

"Do not evac!!" The Asylum has revealed their official trailer for a spoof movie called Battle for Pandora, arriving in theaters today. The Asylum is known for making incredibly cheap, hilariously bad knock offs of major Hollywood blockbusters, and they're still going strong even nowadays (they also made the Sharknado franchise). This time they're riffing on James Cameron's Avatar movies (with Avatar: The Way of Water in theaters in two weeks) with this one, which uses the "Pandora" planet and lots of blue-tinged footage. But everything else is about different. After a help signal from a research vessel makes it back to Earth, the U.S. Space Force sends a rescue ship to Saturn's moon Pandora. But when they try to land, they discover that it's inhabited by a highly evolved humanoid species. Starring Tom Sizemore, Kristos Andrews, and Mark Andrew Riketson. Yes, this looks as terrible as you're expecting, but at least with The Asylum that is the entire point. They mashed up Avatar with The Abyss in this. I won't rent it, but the trailer is fun to laugh at. ›››
