Official Trailer for 'Great Alaskan Race' About the Original Serum Run

"You are choosing to transport this serum with a stone age solution!" "Have a little faith, will you?" P12 Films has debuted the first official trailer for a family adventure movie titled The Great Alaskan Race, made by writer / director Brian Presley. The movie is a recreation and retelling of the true story of the great serum run of Alaska in 1925. This original "race" across Alaska later became the iconic Iditarod trail sled dog race, still held every year. The legendary serum run originally occurred in the winter of 1924 to 1925 - Leonhard Seppala and his team of sled dogs traveled over 700 treacherous miles to save the small town of Nome from a deadly diphtheria outbreak. The Great Alaskan Race stars Brian Presley, Brad Leland, Treat Williams, Henry Thomas, Brea Bree, and Bruce Davison. Along with a bunch of cuddly dogs. The dialogue in this trailer is atrocious, but at least the dogs look like they're having fun. Check it out below. ›››

Watch: Video of Incredible 658-Page Flipbook Made by Laika Animator

How cool is this?! We don't usually feature videos like this, but this time we have to make an exception and share it anyway. Andy Bailey (aka "Andymation") is a stop-motion animator at the indie studio Laika, who makes his own flipbooks in his spare time. Flipbooks are small paper books with illustrations on each page, so when you "flip" through them quickly the images come alive. It's an old school animation technique and it's very cool to see. He went all out this time and created a massive 658-page flipbook titled The Return of Grumpy Cloud. There's a plot and characters and lots of colors. The other great thing about this video is before he flips through the little book, he explains how he made it and gives a look at his creative process. ›››

Official US Trailer for Epic Chinese Animation 'Ne Zha' Playing in IMAX

"A chance the dragons waited a millennium for." Well Go USA has debuted an official US trailer for the epic Chinese animated movie Ne Zha, or Nezha, which has been sweeping the box office in China this summer. The movie has set a new benchmark for Chinese animation. "We assembled 1,600 people in a team from all over the industry to work for nearly five years and, together, we have tried our best to present a good film for the Chinese audience." Ne Zha, based on an ancient Chinese legend (of course), is about a young boy, with the power to destroy the world, who must choose between good and evil in order to break the shackles of fate and become the hero. Featuring the voices of Lü Yanting, Jiongsen Sefu, Han Mo, Chen Hao, Lü Qi, Yang Wei, and Zhang Jiaming. This will be released (with English subtitles) in IMAX first at the end of the month, then in more theaters a week after. It does look epic, and hopefully is as good as they say. ›››

First Full Trailer for James Franco's Love Triangle Film 'Pretenders'

"Was their love something real? He has to find out." Cleopatra Entertainment has released the first full trailer for an indie drama titled Pretenders, also otherwise known as The Pretenders, but they're officially releasing it as just Pretenders. Yet another new film directed by James Franco, in addition to Zeroville also out in the next few months. He's making so many films these days it's hard to keep track of them. And does anyone even watch them? Who knows. Pretenders is about a love triangle involving a photographer, his best friend who is a "French New Wave-obsessed" film student, and a beautiful actress who entrances both of them. Starring Jack Kilmer (Val Kilmer's son), Shameik Moore, and Jane Levy as the main three, with James Franco, Dennis Quaid, Brian Cox, Juno Temple, Antoni Porowski, Mustafa Shakir, Tyler Alvarez, and Reema Sampat. This seems particularly wacky and super artsy, almost like Franco is trying to mock film nerds who fall for actresses. But maybe not? Don't really know what to make of this one. ›››

Adam Devine Loves His Phone Too Much in Fun First Trailer for 'Jexi'

"You can buy a thousand new phones and I follow you onto every single one of them." That's not creepy at all. Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for Jexi, a new modern tech comedy from the directors of 21 & Over and Bad Moms. Jexi is a riff on Her, the title being a portmanteau mix of Alexa and Siri, about a guy who is addicted to his cell phone. His new phone includes a service called Jexi, voiced by Rose Byrne, which becomes his life coach and personal assistant. But when he finally learns to move on to a life without his phone, Jexi freaks out and tries to keep him all to herself. Adam Devine stars, with Alexandra Shipp, Ron Funches, Charlyne Yi, Wanda Sykes, Justin Hartley, Kid Cudi, and Michael Peña. This starts out pretty fun, but it gets really dumb by the end with bad jokes. Some of it is amusing, but some of it is not. ›››
