Official Trailer for Doc 'Obsessed with Light' About Dancer Loïe Fuller
"She was a painter of light." Film Movement has revealed the official trailer for a documentary film called Obsessed with Light, which will begin showing in art house theaters starting in December. It premiered a year ago at the DOC NYC Film Festival and has been playing at many other festivals ever since then. A film that tells the story of American performer Loïe Fuller, an early pioneer of dance, stage lighting and design. As an innovator of modern dance, Loïe Fuller (1862–1928) created a completely new kind of spectacle which combined dance, fabric & movement. She also pioneered the ingenious use of electricity for the stage, even building a glass floor so that she could be lit from below. This is her story. With the voice of Cherry Jones speaking for Fuller. Her style and techniques on stage have gone on to influence culture in so many ways, along with artists and concerts and more. She took out dozens of patents in the U.S., France and UK. Always struggling against a flood of imitators, she sued in court to protect her copyright as early as 1892. It's such an inspiring true story. I had a chance to watch this doc and it's wonderful - a truly eye-opening discovery. // Continue Reading ›

Star Wars Kids Series 'Skeleton Crew' Trailer #2 Featuring Jude Law
"A crew of murderous pirates is coming!" Disney has revealed their new official trailer for Skeleton Crew, a brand new entirely original Star Wars series about kids mainly meant for kids to enjoy. It's pretty much The Goonies, but set in the geeky sci-fi Star Wars universe, which actually looks kind of awesome. Ready for launch in December. The new series is created by Jon Watts (of the recent Spider-Man movies) and writer Christopher Ford (of Cop Car, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Chaos Walking). Four rough & tumble kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. The series follows along as the kids get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy and have to find their way home, meeting unlikely allies & enemies along the way. Their group includes Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Kyriana Kratter) + Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) as the main four, who are joined by: the mysterious and enigmatic Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) and the droid SM-33 (voiced by Nick Frost), the decrepit first mate of the Onyx Cinder spaceship. The series cast also includes Tunde Adebimpe and Kerry Condon. This looks amazing! I'm all about this - looks like a blast. Dive in. // Continue Reading ›
