PM Khan has made tax recovery into a movement, this is what patriotism is: Firdous Awan

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday said for the first time in the history of country Prime Minister Imran Khan has made tax recovery into a movement.

Taking to Twitter, Awan said, “For the first time in the history of the country Prime Minister Imran Khan has made tax recovery into a movement. Credit goes to the captain for taking this step. This is what patriotism is.” 

ملک کی تاریخ میں پہلی بار ٹیکس وصولی کے قومی فرض کو تحریک کی شکل دینے کا کریڈٹ وزیراعظم عمران خان کو جاتا ہے۔ پاکستان کو خود انحصاری کی منزل سے ہم کنار کرنے کی جانب عملی قدم کپتان نے اٹھایا۔ حب الوطنی اسے کہتے ہیں۔

“By taking this step the prime minister proved that we as a nation should work together and come out of poverty,” she added.

وزیراعظم عمران خان نے اپنے عمل سے ثابت کیا کہ ہم قوم بن کر محتاجی کی دلدل سے نکلنے کی جدوجہد کریں۔

Awan added, “The prime minister has taken decisions in the interest of the nation. Even the political opposition has recognised that once we go through these tough times with courage, we will have a bright future.”

وزیراعظم عمران خان نے سیاسی نہیں قومی مفاد میں جرات مندانہ فیصلے کئے ہیں۔ سیاسی مخالف بھی تسلیم کررہے ہیں کہ اس کڑی دھوپ سے ایک بار ہم ہمت، حوصلے اور استقامت سے گزر گئے تو روشن مستقبل ہماری منزل ہوگا۔

On Thursday, PM Imran said the government was striving to reform the institutions and change the public mindset to make the taxpayers real VIPs and send the money launderers to jail what they deserved.

Speaking with the state broadcaster, Pakistan Television (PTV), the prime minister once again urged the nation to avail the tax amnesty scheme to steer the country out of debt trap.

The prime minister added, a huge number of people were showing a willingness to come under the tax net that is set to expire on June 30.

He further hinted at extending the deadline of the assets declaration scheme, indicating that a new programme may be introduced in the next 48 hours.

The PM added, he had also discussed with Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Shabbar Zaidi and Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh the strategy to bring ease to the people by allowing them to register within the deadline and benefit from the scheme later.

“On this, we will come up with a program within next 48 hours,” the prime minister said.
