Speaking on private channel ', the former interior minister said taking action only against members of opposition parties was not accountability.
He said this was no accountability that the people with the government are not questioned by anyone.
Speaking about the prime minister, Nisar said Imran Khan has got a batting wicket, which "neither has pace nor it is helping spin [bowling].
"They even got an atmosphere better than Q-league," he said, referring to the reign of former president Pervez Musharraf when Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) was allied with his government.
Speaking of his longtime affiliate and former party chief Nawaz Sharif, the former interior minister said he had urged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders to come together to convince the former prime minister to take forth affairs in a good way.
"Mian sahib had a revolutionary seated with him, who did all this," he said, adding that Nawaz agreed with him when he met the former premier.
Nisar reiterated that Pakistan has been passing through the most difficult phase of its history. "Previously, there was room for an error, but now the ravine is right in front of us."
He revealed that he met Imran Khan a few weeks before the 2018 elections at the residence of a mutual friend.
"Imran Khan wanted me to join Tehreek-e-Insaf," the former minister said, describing Khan as his friend from school days.
"With the situation evolving, I knew Imran is becoming the prime minister. I had even told Nawaz Sharif that I would not personally hold a press conference against Khan."
He said the incumbent government should be given some time. "Here even dictatorships have lasted for up to 10 years, the current government should be given time."
Nisar, however, suggested the government to avoid confrontation and hold indiscriminate accountability.
"Accountability would only be purposeful, if the government separated itself from this process," he said. "NAB law applies on members of the treasury up to the same extent it is applicable on opposition members."
Quoting the prime minister's statement in which he said he would not spare a single [corrupt] individual, the former minister said this was not the government's job.
He questioned why does the premier not say if there are allegations against his cabinet members then they should step down and face the cases.
