Serbian Post-Apocalyptic Thriller 'Warriors of the Wasteland' Trailer

"I won't kill a man who hasn't harmed me." Well Go USA has debuted a new official trailer for a sci-fi action thriller titled Warriors of the Wasteland, which is actually just a new US title for this release. Warriors of the Wasteland is a Serbian production made by a Serbian filmmaker named Nemanja Ćeranić and it was originally released there in 2024 under the title Son's Will. The entire film is shot in English starring Igor Bencina as the badass anti-hero Jovan wielding a samurai sword slicing up anyone who gets in his way. It's being sent to VOD in the US and is out this week to watch anytime. After the "Last War", the truth lies in the eye of an ancient sword. Solitary drifter Jovan traverses the dangerous wastelands, searching for his sister and the man who kidnapped her. The city waits. A dark post-apocalyptic tale set in the west Balkans, after a nuclear war. Starring Igor Benčina, Isidora Simijonović, Sergej Trifunović, Marta Bjelica, Jovo Maksić. There's a new trend of these apocalyptic wasteland action thrillers from Eastern Europe, I believe reflecting many feelings about the current state of the world and how to fight back. KVIFF 2026: 'Robert Richardson: The White Devil' Doc About the DP

It's not often we ever get to watch documentaries that profile cinematographers. They are an important part of cinema, obviously enough, and they are monumental artists in their own right. Masters of light and shadow. But when it comes to cinema profiles and filmmaking docs, they're usually about directors, writers, actors, sometimes even producers, and other craftspeople. Finally we have a doc about a cinematographer and it's a good one. Robert Richardson: The White Devil is a documentary made by Czech filmmaker / cinematographer Jana Hojdova and it premiered at the 2026 Karlovy Vary Film Festival. Jana explained in the intro that she has been coming to the fest since she was a teenager it's a dream come true to premiere this film at KVIFF. The entire reason this doc exists is because one day Jana sent an email trying to get in touch with American cinematographer Robert Richardson for a masters thesis she was working on while studying at the University of Prague. The only other reason this doc exists is because when she went out to meet him, they both ended up stuck together inside his house on Cape Cod in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. She spent the next 3 months digging through his archives and interviewing him while they both had nothing else to do in 2020. Full International Trailer for 'Hope' - Na Hong-jin's Sci-Fi Action Film

Plus M Entertainment in Korea has launched their full official trailer for the bonkers epic sci-fi movie made by Korean filmmaker Na Hong-jin (of The Chaser, The Yellow Sea, The Wailing) titled simply Hope. This premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival where it caused a storm with completely polarizing reactions. Did it even belong at the festival? Is it junk? Is it amazing? First Trailer for 'Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi' Series

"Does the Force actually guide you?" Disney+ & Lucasfilm have unveiled the first official trailer for a spin-off anime series titled in full Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi. After the immense success and rave reviews for the short "The Ninth Jedi" from Volume 1 of Star Wars: Visions (and also the sequel in Volume 3), Disney commissioned them to make an entire spin-off series focused on the Jedi hero Kara. This first trailer "hints at a new dangerous mission about to unfold." The next chapter in a story that continued with "The Ninth Jedi - Child of Hope" in Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, The Ninth Jedi special limited series will follow Kara's newest adventure in a galaxy far, far away. "Witness the Jedi in a new light" as she fights another rogue Jedi. No other details are available so far - it's being finalized for release in early August this summer. The actress Kimiko Glenn voiced Lah Kara in the most recent "Child of Hope" short last year. It's exciting to see them make an entire series based on one of the hit shorts from the Visions series, though this just makes me wish they could extend more of them not just this one. First Trailer for Legal Thriller 'Prosecution' About Germany's Far-Right

"Why do you not trust your own department?" Screen has revealed the first official trailer for an acclaimed German indie film titled Prosecution, a legal thriller about the far-right & racism in Germany. Also titled Staatsschutz in German, the film premiered at the 2026 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, obviously, to mostly good reviews. I'm a big fan of this one – I called it a "Lean, Mean, Gripping Legal Thriller" in my review. Prosecution follows Seyo Kim, a German public prosecutor, who is determined to confront far-right violence in eastern Germany with the resources of the state. But when she survives a racist attack on her own life, Seyo takes matters into her own hands – putting her life further at risk. She goes full-on trying to bring down a far-right neo-Nazi network, only to discover it isn't so easy in Germany's so called "objective" legal system. Throughout the trial, Seyo learns firsthand what it means to entrust the pursuit of justice to a state that applies double standards and not only downplays far-right violence, but at times even protects it. It's a fascinating look at just how unfair the law can be. The film stars Chen Emilie Yan as Seyo, Julia Jentsch, Alev Irmak, Arnd Klawitter, and Sebastian Urzendowsky. It can be a bit melodramatic but to good effect and to make a very powerful point. I highly recommend catching this one if it plays near you. // Continue Reading ›
