New US Trailer for 'The Ties That Bind Us' César-Winning Family Movie

The Ties That Bind Us Trailer
"Delicate and full of light." Icarus Films has relaunched the official US trailer for an award-winning French film titled The Ties That Bind Us in English, originally known as L'attachement in French. This family drama directed by Carine Tardieu just won the top prize Best Film at the César Awards in France this week - France's equivalent of the Academy Awards. A major victory for this little film about family life in France. It first premiered in 2024 at the Venice Film Festival but barely got a US release at all. L'attachement explores the challenges of modern family structures – the film follows a single father, a feminist librarian and a child seeking a place to belong as they navigate love and desires. It questions what it means to be a family. In The Ties That Bind Us, Carine Tardieu's gently observed adaptation of Alice Ferney’s novel L’Intimité, she explores the many forms that love & parenthood can take, portraying how grief and intimacy can transform the ways in which people choose — and learn — to create a family. Starring Valeria Bruni Tedeschi as Sandra Ferney, Pio Marmaï as Alexandre "Alex" Perthuis, Vimala Pons as Emillia Demetriu, Raphaël Quenard as David. This lovely film looks like a tender, wholesome story of one family's love for each other. // Continue Reading ›

Supernatural Queer Romance Thriller 'The Serpent's Skin' Full Trailer

The Serpent's Skin Trailer
"What if I took some horrible, hidden part of myself and put it in that tattoo?" Yellow Veil Pics has unveiled an official trailer for an indie LGBTQ romantic thriller film called The Serpent's Skin, opening in theaters starting in March. This is the sixth feature film made by the prolific 21-year-old Australian indie filmmaker Alice Maio Mackay, also of T Blockers and Satranic Panic. The Serpent's Skin is a "supernatural queer romance thriller" for lovers of Buffy, Charmed, and the early films of Gregg Araki. "Alice Maio Mackay [is] a ferocious explorer of genre with incisive taste that's unique to her lived experience." After escaping from her transphobic hometown, Anna meets goth tattoo artist Gen. They bond over shared supernatural abilities and a romance begins, but Gen's tattoo work accidentally conjures a demon before their romance can bloom. The pair need to face their insecurities in order to defeat evil. The indie film stars Alexandra McVicker, Avalon Fast, Scott Major, Charlotte Chimes, Jordan Dulieu, and Patty Glavieux. This looks like a vivid, neon spin on supernatural romance that feels like an homage to Gregg Araki with its own edge. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

Old Friends Psychological Thriller 'Refuge' Trailer with Adam Sinclair

Refuge Trailer
"Let me be crystal clear: not one of you is leaving here until I get a confession." Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for Refuge, an indie crime thriller from filmmaker Anton Sigurdsson. Not to be confused with any of the handful of other movies also titled Refuge, considering it's a very generic & unexciting title. Especially for this film. Four estranged high school friends reunite on a fishing trip, but a missing child and a desperate father's accusation turn reunion into a deadly reckoning. He believes one of these 3 friends has something to do with his daughter's disappearance. Refuge is an eerie suspense thriller that dives deep into the darkest parts of the human psyche. The film explores themes as loyalty, guilt, and the extremes people will go to protect themselves. Starring Adam Sinclair, Donald Paul, Adam Dorsey, and Christopher Dietrick. This thriller actually looks quite good, even with a cliche setup it seems like a very intense watch. // Continue Reading ›

Julia Cumming's 'My Life' Music Video
"I'm too wholesome or too boring or too quiet or loud; I'm too sexy or too modest or I'm lost in the crowd; I'm too literal, then I just make no sense at all; I fall in love and then feel trapped and stumble and fall?" There's a new music video out to watch for a song called "My Life", which is the debut single by artist Julia Cumming. It's her first solo single – though some might also recognize her from the band Sunflower Bean before this. It's already out on Netflix UK for streaming over there after premiering in Burnley, UK. The full title is Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger - which is a fun name for this character. New Trailer for Riz Ahmed's 'Hamlet' Film Set in Modern Day London

Hamlet US Trailer 2026
"Woe is me to have seen what I have seen." Vertical has debuted a new official US trailer for this new take on the Shakespeare classic Hamlet - it is a South Asian London "re-imagining" or reinvention of the tale of vengeance. Aneil Karia's Hamlet premiered at the 2025 Telluride, Toronto, and London Film Festivals last year to very mixed reviews. TIFF states: "The setting and cultural placement reveal how powerfully the play speaks to issues around identity, intergenerational tensions, contemporary struggles over duty, faith, and belonging. Shakespeare's words remain — but what’s changed is the ground beneath them. And that shift is everything." Adding that Riz Ahmed's "long-standing dream to take on this role, in partnership with Karia, results in a performance that feels both deeply classical and bracingly new." This new Shakespeare film stars Riz Ahmed as Hamlet, with an impressive ensemble featuring Morfydd Clark, Joe Alwyn, Timothy Spall, Art Malik, Sheeba Chaddha, & Avijitt Dutt. With cinematography by Stuart Bentley. This looks interesting but not exactly the most exciting film. Out in US theaters this April if anyone's curious anyway. // Continue Reading ›

Berlinale 2026: Warwick Thornton's 'Wolfram' - Dusty Tale of Survival

Wolfram Review
One of the most gorgeously-shot films from the 2026 Berlin Film Festival is this drama from Australia titled Wolfram. This is no surprise for fans of director Warwick Thornton or anyone familiar with his work – he has been making gorgeously-shot films for years, ever since his feature debut Samson and Delilah originally premiered in 2009. Wolfram is yet another gritty, tough western tale of humanity set in the dusty Outback of Australia. Technically it's set in the "same universe" as Thornton's 2017 film Sweet Country, but because this isn't some Marvel movie with multiverses and different "universes" to hop back & forth from, let's just say it takes place in the same Australian past as his other films. Wolfram is once again also about racism – depicting how brutally racist White Australians were (still are?) towards Black Indigenous people. It even shows slavery and child labor and all these awful things happening. However, thankfully the film's narrative transcends all of that to focus on a trio of young Aboriginal boys on the run trying to stay alive in the 1900s. It's another dusty tale of survival amidst the hardships and horrors of the Australian Outback, while the settlers try to strike it rich mining for gold or wolframite (an iron, manganese, tungstate mineral). // Continue Reading ›

Robert Aramayo Wins the BAFTA Award for 'I Swear' - He Deserves It

Robert Aramayo BAFTA Winner
Big news from London! I don't usually cover the BAFTA Awards from the UK but this win deserves a special mention. Last night at the BAFTA ceremony in London, which is essentially the UK version of the Academy Awards, a young English actor named Robert Aramayo won the Best Actor award. He took the top prize for Best Actor over other more well-known names like Leonardo DiCaprio (for One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (for Blue Moon), and Timothee Chalamet (for Marty Supreme). While this was a surprise for many Americans, it's not a surprise for everyone in the UK. Aramayo absolutely deserved this award for his performance in a film called I Swear, where he plays a real Scottish man named John Davidson with Tourette's. I already opened in the UK last fall but still hasn't opened in the US yet. It's a version of his story and the goal is to continue to build awareness around Tourette's syndrome, a neurological disease that many are familiar with but not comfortable truly understanding. I hope this win and this film will change things and enlighten people worldwide as to what the experience of living with Tourette's & with tics is really like. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Intriguing Swedish Film 'Redoubt' with Denis Lavant

Redoubt Trailer
"No one understands that Karl wants to help." Sovereign Film Distribution in the UK debuted their official trailer for an indie film from Sweden titled Redoubt (in English), also called Värn (or Protect) in Swedish. This premiered at the 2025 San Sebastian Film Festival and it also played at the London Film Festival last fall. During the peak of the Cold War, a Swedish farmhand transforms his house into a community shelter, his fixation contrasting with everyday rural life, captured in quite striking black & white imagery. He gathers scrap-metal & casts it into the walls to build a fortress meant to protect him & his neighbors. His efforts are met with puzzlement by everyone but the children. Described in reviews: "Writer-director John Skoog casts Lavant as a real-life backwoods eccentric from Swedish history in this dramatically thin but compellingly bizarre Cold War drama." Redoubt stars acclaimed French actor Denis Lavant as the real life Swedish man Karl-Göran Persson, also joined by Agnieszka Podsiadlik, Livia Millhagen, and Aron Skoog. Almost anything with Denis Lavant in it is worth watching – I'm quite curious to see where this story goes with him. // Continue Reading ›

Extra Dumb Trailer for 'NFT: Cursed Images' Cheesy NFT Horror Film

NFT: Cursed Images Trailer
"Your NFTs are coming back from the dead to get you." Remember NFTs? Did anyone waste their money on them? That short-lived, incredibly stupid, sell-images-online-for-crypto gimmick that has completely died and everyone has already forgotten about it. Yep, those things. Well, someone made a bad horror movie revolving around NFT images and how they're cursed or haunted or whatever. It looks as bad as this stupid crypto trend. But hey - it's finally coming out if anyone wants to watch it. Chroma has released an official trailer for NFT: Cursed Images, an indie horror set in London about a group of friends being killed off by demons inside the haunted NFTs. Ugh. Seven friends invest in a cursed NFT collection, but when the digital monsters escape into reality, their get-rich-quick scheme becomes a deadly fight for survival. It was made in only 9 days for $20K – unfortunately it looks like it, too. Starring Najarra Townsend, David Wayman, Mariah Nonnemacher, Durassie Kiangangu, and Amelie Edwards. Berlinale 2026: 'Prosecution' is a Lean, Mean, Gripping Legal Thriller

Prosecution Review
Most of the best films in this decade take a simplistic, important premise and elevate it with creative, clever filmmaking choices. It's not just about telling a story – anyone can do that. It's about how you tell the story, how you utilizing cinematic techniques to make it into something more, how cinema can turn a simple story into something truly profound. And potentially impactful, if the right audience watches it. Prosecution is one of the best modern legal thrillers I've seen this decade. This German film premiered at the 2026 Berlin Film Festival (and won an Audience Award) in the Panorama section. While it is ostensibly about Germany and their broken, corrupt justice system (despite continuous claims that it is the most objective) it is also a universal story about the corruption & injustice found in any country. It's literally about racism and how racism is often covered up, white-washed away, written off as just normal people not being bad. They didn't mean any harm! But racism needs to be confronted and dealt with directly – and boy oh boy does this film confront it. Prosecution is a gripping, badass, fascinating story about one woman getting justice at any cost. // Continue Reading ›

Universal Pictures has debuted a quick new trailer to celebrate the upcoming 25th Anniversary re-release of Stephen Sommers' action sequel The Mummy Returns, the two-years-later follow-up to 1999's brilliant The Mummy with Brendan Fraser. This sequel opened in May 2001 and was a huge hit that year at the box office. "A gleeful ode to the spirit of Saturday morning serials the PG-13 adventure was filled with bombast and eye-popping visual effects." After the events of the first movie, the mummified body of Imhotep is shipped to a museum in London, where he once again wakes and begins his campaign of rage and terror. This sequel also introduced the world to Dwayne Johnson in the form of the Scorpion King, who would also later go on to get his own (much worse) prequel called The Scorpion King in 2002 right after. The Mummy Returns sequel stars Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, Oded Fehr, Patricia Velasquez (all from the first movie), plus Freddie Boath, Alun Armstrong, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock at the time, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Shaun Parkes. In my opinion, this is a huge step down from the first movie, but still fun in its own cheesy ways. Have fun. // Continue Reading ›

Tickets On Sale Promo Featurette for 'The Bride' by Maggie Gyllenhaal

The Bride! Featurette
"The Bride is formidable when she's reinvigorated – it's provocative & it's punk." Warner Bros has unveiled a "Tickets on Sale" promo video for The Bride!, the highly anticipated movie from the mind of visionary filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal (director of the excellent film The Lost Daughter). Out in theaters in just a few weeks! Grab your tickets! Starring Jessie Buckley & Christian Bale as this impulsive duo in a bold, iconoclastic take on one of the world’s most compelling stories. In 1930s Chicago, Frankenstein's monster asks Dr. Euphronius to create a companion for him. They give new life to a murdered woman known as "the Bride," sparking romance, police interest and radical social change. Inspired by Mary Shelley's classic tale, as well as the original Bride of Frankenstein horror movie from 1935, though this is clearly something brand new from Gyllenhaal's mind. This stars Buckley & Bale, with Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. Even though this looks like a stylish fun romp, it does just come across like Bonnie & Clyde meets The Joker. This video features the main trio talking about the story in it - enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

The Yeti Trailer
"Everybody away from the window..." Well Go USA has revealed the full official trailer for an indie horror thriller creation called The Yeti, a scary new take on the snow monster (who is also called the abominable snowman). A distant cousin of the sasquatch, right? From directors Gene Gallerano & William Pisciotta, The Yeti is a snowy horror about the mythical snow monster. Set in the late 1940s, explorers Merriell Sunday Sr. and Hollis Bannister vanished in Alaska. The horror film stars Brittany Allen, Corbin Bernsen, Eric Nelsen, William Sadler, Heather Lind, Jim Cummings, Christina Bennett Lind, Elizabeth Cappuccino, Linc Hand. This is a strange trailer setting up this huge ensemble cast. And there's barely even one or two shots of The Yeti in here, but he's definitely in there. Will this be any good? Samara Weaving & Jason Segel in 'Over Your Dead Body' Film Trailer

Over Your Dead Body Trailer
"In a relationship, the key is finding ways to keep things fresh." IFC has unveiled an official trailer for the action comedy film Over Your Dead Body, a brand new comedy from filmmaker Jorma Taccone. This is premiering at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival in March, then hits theaters in late April playing everywhere. Directed by SNL alumnus and Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone (of Pop Star: Never Stop Stopping, MacGruber), this is about a dysfunctional married couple who retreats to a secluded cabin to repair their relationship. However, each secretly plots to murder the other. A riff on the "over my dead body" phrase, of course. Described as "a dark, twisted, and riotous action comedy, with a killer cast." Over Your Dead Body stars Samara Weaving & Jason Segel as the couple, along with Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, Paul Guilfoyle, and Keith Jardine. Don't tell me anything more about it! I'm ready to watch this already! Looks like an all-out, bonkers action comedy more than horror – and reminds me of Splitsville. I'm so there. // Continue Reading ›

IMAX Re-Release of The Who's 70s Rock Opera 'Tommy' New Trailer

Tommy Doc Trailer
"Your senses will never be the same again!" Let's play some pinball! The Who's iconic rock opera Tommy is getting re-release in IMAX for two nights only this March. IMAX has unveiled a new official trailer for the re-release of Tommy, which first hit theaters in 1975, making this year's re-release a celebration of its 51st anniversary. Tommy is the rock opera musical movie created by and starring the band known as The Who. It's written, co-produced, and directed by Ken Russell, based on the Who's album of the same name, about a psychosomatically deaf, mute, and blind boy who becomes a pinball champion and religious leader. The film features an epic ensemble cast, including the members of the Who themselves – most notably, lead singer Roger Daltrey, who plays the titular role – along with Oliver Reed, Ann-Margret, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Jack Nicholson, Robert Powell, Keith Moon, Paul Nicholas, Pete Townshend, and Tina Turner. Remarkably this film got away with only a PG rating despite all that is going on. This looks totally bonkers! A crazy fun throwback to the 60s and 70s era when they were making all these movies with rock bands, going all-out wild with extravagant ideas & weird concepts & whatever they could think of. Rock on. // Continue Reading ›

Pom Klementieff is a DJ Looking For Her Friend in 'Mi Amor' Trailer

Mi Amor Thriller Trailer
"It's not like her, at all, to disappear without saying anything." Le Pacte in France has unveiled their first trailer for an indie thriller film called Mi Amor, the latest made by French filmmaker Guillaume Nicloux (of To the Ends of the World, La Tour, The Baby, The Divine Sarah Bernhardt). This just premiered at the 2026 Rotterdam Film Festival (aka IFFR) a few weeks ago but doesn't have any other release dates set yet. French actress Pom Klementieff stars as Romy – a French DJ touring the sun-bleached, club-lit Canary Islands, until her friend vanishes. Met with evasion from locals and the authorities, her search leads her to a magnetic stranger and the sinister proprietors of an exotic animal sanctuary. IFFR adds more: "In Mi Amor, Guillaume Nicloux builds a taut & slickly paced disappearance thriller that transforms the extreme natural beauty of the island into something altogether sinister and strange, driven by an always pulsing techno score by French artists Irène Drésel and Sizo Del Givry." The film stars Pom Klementieff with Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Elina Löwensohn, Benoît Magimel, Freya Mavor, & Anaël Snoek. This seems very similar to Jan-Ole Gerster's film Islands – also set on the Canary Islands about a disappearance, with similar vibes. // Continue Reading ›

Berlinale 2026: 'At the Sea' is an Entirely Useless Waste of Amy Adams

At the Sea Review
Every once a while a film comes along that is so miserably boring and uninteresting, there is nothing more that you'll wish for than to get those 2 hours back. No matter which great actor pops up in this film, none of them are able to provide any kind of worthwhile performance to make it any better. It's a complete waste of time and a waste of talent. At the Sea is the latest film from Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó, following up his previous films Pieces of a Woman (2020) and Evolution (2021). Unfortunately it's probably his worst one yet – an especially dour, meandering, tedious mess of a film about an alcoholic woman who returns to her family after finishing a stint rehab. But it's not really about that as much as it is about a group of stuck up, wealthy, dysfunctional people living in a big, fancy house on Cape Cod. Every day they wake up and go to the beach and then yell at each other and fight and that's about it. And this just happens on repeat for nearly two hours. Amy Adams tries to make amends and show her family that she's better, but they don't really care. And neither do we, the audience, as none of these characters are worth knowing or interesting in any realistic way. Harsh to say but I was surprised by how every single person in the film is a proper a-hole. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for 'D is for Distance' Documentary Film About Epilepsy

D is for Distance Doc Trailer
"Time future contained in time past. The same old story..." BFI has revealed the main official trailer for an acclaimed indie documentary film titled D is for Distance, made by two filmmakers telling their own story as parents of a boy with epilepsy. Made in the UK, this experimental doc film is opening in UK cinemas starting in April. It premiered at the 2025 Rotterdam Film Festival and played at Thessaloniki, London, and Vienna Film Festivals as well. A meditation on cinema, the NHS and family relationships, D is for Distance tells the story of the filmmakers' son Louis, and his debilitating experiences living with epilepsy, through an extraordinary archive of personal footage. Narrated by English actress Jodhi May. Louis, who is now 22, is also an emerging artist working in London. The experiences of his condition have vividly influenced his paintings, drawings and etchings, exhibited during last year's London Film Festival and seen throughout the film as well. D is for Distance is also a celebration of music, including songs from Holger Czukay, The Everly Brothers, Ennio Morricone, King Krule, and others. Certainly seems like a unique cinematic creation. // Continue Reading ›

Project Hail Mary Trailer 2
"You are the only scientist who might know what this is." One month to go! Amazon MGM Studios + Sony debuted a new 60-second promo spot on TV during the Olympics this past weekend for the epic sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary. This was debuted during one of their sports promos involving the athletes - and this final TV trailer aired right after. It's more of a featurette with footage of Gosling explaining what's going on in the movie. Adapted from Andy Weir's acclaimed novel of the same name, this is the story of an astronaut who tries to save Earth while alone in outer space. The movie stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spacecraft at Tau Ceti with no memory of himself or his mission. But he then figures out he was sent here to help save Earth and must now figure out what to do entirely on his own – until he meets another creature. Co-starring Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt, Ryland's superior, and Milana Vayntrub as Olesya Ilyukhina, his other Russian crewmate. This third trailer (view the other two) features tons of footage with Rocky, his alien friend (an on-set real puppet not CGI) who helps him figure out how to save the stars. After the final trailer that launched during the Super Bowl I don't need to see more - I cannot wait to watch. // Continue Reading ›

Haunted House POV Movie 'The House Was Not Hungry Then' Trailer

The House Was Not Hungry Then Trailer
"He does not love the house. He hurts the house." Chroma has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror film titled The House Was Not Hungry Then, made by Scottish-American filmmaker Harry Aspinwall. This premiered last year at the Cinquest Film Festival and is out to watch now on VOD at home anytime. An intriguing new indie horror that's based around the POV of the haunted house itself. While searching for her estranged father, a young woman breaks into an empty house in the Scottish countryside where every visitor disappears. Now she must avoid the man posing as a real estate agent who lures victims inside to feed the hungry house. Starring Bobby Rainsbury, Clive Russell, and Bill Paterson. In you go, and have a look around... This reminds me of the POV horror film In a Violent Nature from Canada, as well as Soderbergh's Presence film also from the perspective of the ghost in a home. Very eerie vibes in this... with all these wide shots of the house itself and the people looking around in it. Worth a look if you're into experimental horror. // Continue Reading ›
