Kooky Alien Tentacle Indie Sci-Fi 'Touch Me' Trailer - Lou Taylor Pucci

Touch Me Trailer
"By coming here, you found yourself part of something bigger..." Yellow Veil Pictures has unveiled their main official trailer an extra funky, super wacky, kinky fun indie film called Touch Me, made by Addison Heimann as his second feature film after Hypochondriac a few years back. Touch Me first premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival then it also stopped by SXSW, Overlook, Frameline, Neuchâtel, Melborune, Brooklyn Horror, and other festivals throughout the year - now ready for its final release this spring. It's a wacky indie comedy, sex comedy, narcissism drama, cult thriller all rolled into one. Two codependent best friends become addicted to the heroin-like touch of an alien narcissist who may or may not be trying to take over the world. Starring Olivia Taylor Dudley, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jordan Gavaris, Marlene Forte, and Paget Brewster. Reviews are mostly pretty good, stating it's "a singular film of trauma and addiction that delivers laughs, horrors, and tentacled alien sex." Yep – it gets really weird & wild. I've been waiting for them to finally release this a whole year after the Sundance premiere - it's destined to become a cult classic. // Continue Reading ›

Berlinale 2026: Warwick Thornton's 'Wolfram' - Dusty Tale of Survival

Wolfram Review
One of the most gorgeously-shot films from the 2026 Berlin Film Festival is this drama from Australia titled Wolfram. This is no surprise for fans of director Warwick Thornton or anyone familiar with his work – he has been making gorgeously-shot films for years, ever since his feature debut Samson and Delilah originally premiered in 2009. Wolfram is yet another gritty, tough western tale of humanity set in the dusty Outback of Australia. Technically it's set in the "same universe" as Thornton's 2017 film Sweet Country, but because this isn't some Marvel movie with multiverses and different "universes" to hop back & forth from, let's just say it takes place in the same Australian past as his other films. Wolfram is once again also about racism – depicting how brutally racist White Australians were (still are?) towards Black Indigenous people. It even shows slavery and child labor and all these awful things happening. However, thankfully the film's narrative transcends all of that to focus on a trio of young Aboriginal boys on the run trying to stay alive in the 1900s. It's another dusty tale of survival amidst the hardships and horrors of the Australian Outback, while the settlers try to strike it rich mining for gold or wolframite (an iron, manganese, tungstate mineral). // Continue Reading ›

Robert Aramayo Wins the BAFTA Award for 'I Swear' - He Deserves It

Robert Aramayo BAFTA Winner
Big news from London! I don't usually cover the BAFTA Awards from the UK but this win deserves a special mention. Last night at the BAFTA ceremony in London, which is essentially the UK version of the Academy Awards, a young English actor named Robert Aramayo won the Best Actor award. He took the top prize for Best Actor over other more well-known names like Leonardo DiCaprio (for One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (for Blue Moon), and Timothee Chalamet (for Marty Supreme). While this was a surprise for many Americans, it's not a surprise for everyone in the UK. Aramayo absolutely deserved this award for his performance in a film called I Swear, where he plays a real Scottish man named John Davidson with Tourette's. I already opened in the UK last fall but still hasn't opened in the US yet. It's a version of his story and the goal is to continue to build awareness around Tourette's syndrome, a neurological disease that many are familiar with but not comfortable truly understanding. I hope this win and this film will change things and enlighten people worldwide as to what the experience of living with Tourette's & with tics is really like. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Intriguing Swedish Film 'Redoubt' with Denis Lavant

Redoubt Trailer
"No one understands that Karl wants to help." Sovereign Film Distribution in the UK debuted their official trailer for an indie film from Sweden titled Redoubt (in English), also called Värn (or Protect) in Swedish. This premiered at the 2025 San Sebastian Film Festival and it also played at the London Film Festival last fall. During the peak of the Cold War, a Swedish farmhand transforms his house into a community shelter, his fixation contrasting with everyday rural life, captured in quite striking black & white imagery. He gathers scrap-metal & casts it into the walls to build a fortress meant to protect him & his neighbors. His efforts are met with puzzlement by everyone but the children. Described in reviews: "Writer-director John Skoog casts Lavant as a real-life backwoods eccentric from Swedish history in this dramatically thin but compellingly bizarre Cold War drama." Redoubt stars acclaimed French actor Denis Lavant as the real life Swedish man Karl-Göran Persson, also joined by Agnieszka Podsiadlik, Livia Millhagen, and Aron Skoog. Almost anything with Denis Lavant in it is worth watching – I'm quite curious to see where this story goes with him. // Continue Reading ›

Extra Dumb Trailer for 'NFT: Cursed Images' Cheesy NFT Horror Film

NFT: Cursed Images Trailer
"Your NFTs are coming back from the dead to get you." Remember NFTs? Did anyone waste their money on them? That short-lived, incredibly stupid, sell-images-online-for-crypto gimmick that has completely died and everyone has already forgotten about it. Yep, those things. Well, someone made a bad horror movie revolving around NFT images and how they're cursed or haunted or whatever. It looks as bad as this stupid crypto trend. But hey - it's finally coming out if anyone wants to watch it. Chroma has released an official trailer for NFT: Cursed Images, an indie horror set in London about a group of friends being killed off by demons inside the haunted NFTs. Ugh. Seven friends invest in a cursed NFT collection, but when the digital monsters escape into reality, their get-rich-quick scheme becomes a deadly fight for survival. It was made in only 9 days for $20K – unfortunately it looks like it, too. Starring Najarra Townsend, David Wayman, Mariah Nonnemacher, Durassie Kiangangu, and Amelie Edwards. I'm all for fun indie horror with innovative concepts & low budget thrills, but this looks cheesy and forgettable and just plain dumb. Skip it. // Continue Reading ›

New Trailer for 40th Anniversary Screenings of 'Rad' BMX Cult Classic

Rad 40th Anniversary
"It's gonna take a radical miracle to beat this guy." Utopia & Fathom Entertainment have unveiled a quick new trailer to promote the upcoming 40th Anniversary screenings of 1980s cult classic Rad - the BMX bike movie that opened way back in 1986. Utopia already re-released a vibrant 4K restoration of this movie back in 2020 (here's that trailer) - you can find it on Blu-ray now. Rad has since gone on to become a beloved cult classic, not only because it has a killer soundtrack and impressive stunts, but because it so perfectly captures the vibe of the 80s. And it's one of the only BMX movies ever made that treats the sport with respect. Of course. The movie also has its own Instagram & Facebook. "Rad turning 40 and heading back to theaters nationwide? What more can I say besides... it's gonna be RAD. Remember there's always room for one more on the RAD racing team for another victory lap with the cult classic that never stopped racing." Remastered in 4K, the cult classic film stars Bill Allen (Cru Jones), Lori Loughlin (Christian Hollings), Talia Shire (Mrs. Jones), Jack Weston (Duke Best), Ray Walston (Burton Timmer), and 1984 Olympic gymnastics champ Bart Connor (Bart Taylor). Berlinale 2026: 'Prosecution' is a Lean, Mean, Gripping Legal Thriller

Prosecution Review
Most of the best films in this decade take a simplistic, important premise and elevate it with creative, clever filmmaking choices. It's not just about telling a story – anyone can do that. It's about how you tell the story, how you utilizing cinematic techniques to make it into something more, how cinema can turn a simple story into something truly profound. And potentially impactful, if the right audience watches it. Prosecution is one of the best modern legal thrillers I've seen this decade. This German film premiered at the 2026 Berlin Film Festival (and won an Audience Award) in the Panorama section. While it is ostensibly about Germany and their broken, corrupt justice system (despite continuous claims that it is the most objective) it is also a universal story about the corruption & injustice found in any country. It's literally about racism and how racism is often covered up, white-washed away, written off as just normal people not being bad. They didn't mean any harm! But racism needs to be confronted and dealt with directly – and boy oh boy does this film confront it. Prosecution is a gripping, badass, fascinating story about one woman getting justice at any cost. // Continue Reading ›

New Trailer for 'The Hunt' Series w/ Benoit Magimel & Melanie Laurent

The Hunt Series Trailer
"Not a word to anyone." Apple TV has re-released the official trailer for a chilling new French thriller series called The Hunt, also known as Traqués in French, made by Gaumont in France. Not to be confused with either the Danish film called The Hunt with Mads Mikkelsen or the controversial American film The Hunt from a few years ago. This series was initially supposed to debut last year, but due to plagiarism claims it was pulled from the calendar. Gaumont actually did an investigation & discovered that this is indeed based on Douglas Fairbairn's novel "Shoot". To solve the issues they acquired the rights and have finalized legal issues for the March release. Franck and his buddies enjoy going on hunting trips. One day, they encounter another hunting group who strangely targets them. In a moment of self-defense, Franck's group injures one of the attackers. But paranoia sets in as they return home and try to forget the incident - but the start to feel hunted by now vengeful enemies after them. "The most dangerous enemy is the one you can’t see." Starring Benoît Magimel and Mélanie Laurent, pluds Damien Bonnard, Manuel Guillot, Cédric Appietto, Angelyna Danabe-Mignot, Sarah Pachoud, Yann Goven, Paul Beaurepaire, Patrick De Vallette. This is a much better trailer than the first one - more intense & more thrilling. Actually might end up great. // Continue Reading ›

New Trailer for 'The Mummy Returns' - 25th Anniversary Re-Release

The Mummy Returns Sequel New Trailer
"Ohhhh I hate mummies..." Universal Pictures has debuted a quick new trailer to celebrate the upcoming 25th Anniversary re-release of Stephen Sommers' action sequel The Mummy Returns, the two-years-later follow-up to 1999's brilliant The Mummy with Brendan Fraser. This sequel opened in May 2001 and was a huge hit that year at the box office. "A gleeful ode to the spirit of Saturday morning serials the PG-13 adventure was filled with bombast and eye-popping visual effects." After the events of the first movie, the mummified body of Imhotep is shipped to a museum in London, where he once again wakes and begins his campaign of rage and terror. This sequel also introduced the world to Dwayne Johnson in the form of the Scorpion King, who would also later go on to get his own (much worse) prequel called The Scorpion King in 2002 right after. The Mummy Returns sequel stars Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, Oded Fehr, Patricia Velasquez (all from the first movie), plus Freddie Boath, Alun Armstrong, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock at the time, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Shaun Parkes. In my opinion, this is a huge step down from the first movie, but still fun in its own cheesy ways. Have fun. // Continue Reading ›

Tickets On Sale Promo Featurette for 'The Bride' by Maggie Gyllenhaal

The Bride! Featurette
"The Bride is formidable when she's reinvigorated – it's provocative & it's punk." Warner Bros has unveiled a "Tickets on Sale" promo video for The Bride!, the highly anticipated movie from the mind of visionary filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal (director of the excellent film The Lost Daughter). Out in theaters in just a few weeks! Grab your tickets! Starring Jessie Buckley & Christian Bale as this impulsive duo in a bold, iconoclastic take on one of the world’s most compelling stories. In 1930s Chicago, Frankenstein's monster asks Dr. Euphronius to create a companion for him. They give new life to a murdered woman known as "the Bride," sparking romance, police interest and radical social change. Inspired by Mary Shelley's classic tale, as well as the original Bride of Frankenstein horror movie from 1935, though this is clearly something brand new from Gyllenhaal's mind. This stars Buckley & Bale, with Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. Even though this looks like a stylish fun romp, it does just come across like Bonnie & Clyde meets The Joker. This video features the main trio talking about the story in it - enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

IFC has unveiled an official trailer for the action comedy film Over Your Dead Body, a brand new comedy from filmmaker Jorma Taccone. This is premiering at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival in March, then hits theaters in late April playing everywhere. However, each secretly plots to murder the other. A riff on the "over my dead body" phrase, of course. Described as "a dark, twisted, and riotous action comedy, with a killer cast." IMAX has unveiled a new official trailer for the re-release of Tommy, which first hit theaters in 1975, making this year's re-release a celebration of its 51st anniversary. Tommy is the rock opera musical movie created by and starring the band known as The Who. It's written, co-produced, and directed by Ken Russell, based on the Who's album of the same name, about a psychosomatically deaf, mute, and blind boy who becomes a pinball champion and religious leader. Remarkably this film got away with only a PG rating despite all that is going on. This looks totally bonkers! Berlinale 2026: 'At the Sea' is an Entirely Useless Waste of Amy Adams

At the Sea Review
Every once a while a film comes along that is so miserably boring and uninteresting, there is nothing more that you'll wish for than to get those 2 hours back. No matter which great actor pops up in this film, none of them are able to provide any kind of worthwhile performance to make it any better. It's a complete waste of time and a waste of talent. At the Sea is the latest film from Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó, following up his previous films Pieces of a Woman (2020) and Evolution (2021). Unfortunately it's probably his worst one yet – an especially dour, meandering, tedious mess of a film about an alcoholic woman who returns to her family after finishing a stint rehab. But it's not really about that as much as it is about a group of stuck up, wealthy, dysfunctional people living in a big, fancy house on Cape Cod. Every day they wake up and go to the beach and then yell at each other and fight and that's about it. And this just happens on repeat for nearly two hours. Amy Adams tries to make amends and show her family that she's better, but they don't really care. And neither do we, the audience, as none of these characters are worth knowing or interesting in any realistic way. Harsh to say but I was surprised by how every single person in the film is a proper a-hole. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for 'D is for Distance' Documentary Film About Epilepsy

D is for Distance Doc Trailer
"Time future contained in time past. The same old story..." BFI has revealed the main official trailer for an acclaimed indie documentary film titled D is for Distance, made by two filmmakers telling their own story as parents of a boy with epilepsy. Made in the UK, this experimental doc film is opening in UK cinemas starting in April. It premiered at the 2025 Rotterdam Film Festival and played at Thessaloniki, London, and Vienna Film Festivals as well. A meditation on cinema, the NHS and family relationships, D is for Distance tells the story of the filmmakers' son Louis, and his debilitating experiences living with epilepsy, through an extraordinary archive of personal footage. Narrated by English actress Jodhi May. Louis, who is now 22, is also an emerging artist working in London. The experiences of his condition have vividly influenced his paintings, drawings and etchings, exhibited during last year's London Film Festival and seen throughout the film as well. D is for Distance is also a celebration of music, including songs from Holger Czukay, The Everly Brothers, Ennio Morricone, King Krule, and others. Certainly seems like a unique cinematic creation. // Continue Reading ›

Project Hail Mary Trailer 2
"You are the only scientist who might know what this is." One month to go! Amazon MGM Studios + Sony debuted a new 60-second promo spot on TV during the Olympics this past weekend for the epic sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary. This was debuted during one of their sports promos involving the athletes - and this final TV trailer aired right after. It's more of a featurette with footage of Gosling explaining what's going on in the movie. Adapted from Andy Weir's acclaimed novel of the same name, this is the story of an astronaut who tries to save Earth while alone in outer space. The movie stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spacecraft at Tau Ceti with no memory of himself or his mission. But he then figures out he was sent here to help save Earth and must now figure out what to do entirely on his own – until he meets another creature. Co-starring Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt, Ryland's superior, and Milana Vayntrub as Olesya Ilyukhina, his other Russian crewmate. This third trailer (view the other two) features tons of footage with Rocky, his alien friend (an on-set real puppet not CGI) who helps him figure out how to save the stars. After the final trailer that launched during the Super Bowl I don't need to see more - I cannot wait to watch. // Continue Reading ›

New US Trailer for Sergei Loznitsa's 'Two Prosecutors' Corruption Film

Two Prosecutors Trailer
"They need innocent people to incriminate themselves, in order to justify their actions... They fear being unmasked." Janus Films has unveiled the official US trailer for the indie film titled Two Prosecutors, the latest work from the Ukrainian filmmaker Sergei Loznitsa (also director of My Joy, In the Fog, A Gentle Creature, Donbass). This premiered at last year's 2025 Cannes Film Festival and it also played at Karlovy Vary, Toronto, New York, London, and many other major fests worldwide. Set in the USSR back in 1937, a newly appointed prosecutor discovers an undestroyed letter from a prisoner that reveals corruption in the secret police, the NKVD. His search for the truth becomes dangerous. The new film from great Ukrainian director Sergei Loznitsa is a scalpel-precise tale of the horrors of totalitarian bureaucracy. With Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Aleksandr Filippenko, Anatoliy Beliy, Andris Keišs, Vytautas Kaniušonis, Valentin Novopolskij. The film is described in many positive reviews as "a Kafkaesque tale that is laced with bitter irony, exploring ideas of justice and legacy." Haunted House POV Movie 'The House Was Not Hungry Then' Trailer

The House Was Not Hungry Then Trailer
"He does not love the house. He hurts the house." Chroma has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror film titled The House Was Not Hungry Then, made by Scottish-American filmmaker Harry Aspinwall. This premiered last year at the Cinquest Film Festival and is out to watch now on VOD at home anytime. An intriguing new indie horror that's based around the POV of the haunted house itself. While searching for her estranged father, a young woman breaks into an empty house in the Scottish countryside where every visitor disappears. Now she must avoid the man posing as a real estate agent who lures victims inside to feed the hungry house. Starring Bobby Rainsbury, Clive Russell, and Bill Paterson. In you go, and have a look around... This reminds me of the POV horror film In a Violent Nature from Canada, as well as Soderbergh's Presence film also from the perspective of the ghost in a home. Very eerie vibes in this... with all these wide shots of the house itself and the people looking around in it. Worth a look if you're into experimental horror. // Continue Reading ›

Leonardo DiCaprio stars along with Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, and Will Poulter. This is actually just an update of one of the best trailers for this movie that they released back in 2015. Yura Borisov in 'Race to Monte Carlo' Trailer Russian Movie About Cars

Race to Monte Carlo Trailer
"You've got distance. I've got speed." An official international teaser trailer has debuted for the movie Race to Monte Carlo, a Russian race car sports movie also going under the original title Battle of Engines. This seems to be Russia's nationalistic response to the F1 movie, also inspired by Ferrari and Ford v Ferrari and all the other recent race car films. Driver Andrey Nagel believed in his car's future in the early Russian auto industry. After co-creating the Russo-Balt car, he aimed to prove its worth by competing in the 3000 km St. Petersburg to Monaco race for Monte Carlo Rally's top prize. This is their story. In 1908, automotive enthusiast Andrey Nagel & engineer Dmitry Bondarev gather a team of like-minded individuals to develop a top notch race car. When the viability of their endeavor looks uncertain, Andrey makes the risky decision to enter their car in the Monaco Rally - a move that could make or break the budding manufacturer's future. Starring Oscar nominee Yura Borisov (from Anora) as Dmitry & Ivan Yankovskiy as Andrey, along with Paulina Andreeva, Igor Grabuzov, Aleksei Guskov, & Yehezkel Lazarov. This initial teaser features a very cheesy English-language dub over the dialogue. Doesn't look half bad – but only if you're into racing. // Continue Reading ›

Sundance 2026 - 10 Favorite Films

Now it's time to present our annual Best of the Fest list from the 2026 selection. I was able to catch a total of 54 films this year (my full list on Letterboxd), half of them at screenings in Park City & Salt Lake City, the other half online previews at home. Always watching. This was my iconic 20th year attending & covering Sundance - ever since 2007 I've been publishing my Best of the Fest faves. This fest is still as vitally important to indie cinema as ever – read my full editorial on the last 20 years. I'm always glad to be back up there, watching films all day, every day. I am presenting my final list of my 10 favorite films - a mix of documentaries and narrative features. All 10 are superb, and I encourage watching them on the big screen if possible. Viewing all these early at the festival with an audience is a special vibe. I also recorded a podcast talking about many of the Sundance films (good and bad). Eerie Full Super Bowl Spot for Spielberg's 'Disclosure Day' UFO Movie

"Are they people?" "No." Another creepy reveal to give you the chills. Universal Pictures has launched their 60-second Super Bowl TV spot for Steven Spielberg's new sci-fi movie titled officially Disclosure Day, set for release in June 2026 this summer. Still the only brief intro available (from the teaser trailer) is this vague sci-fi synopsis: If you found out we weren't alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to 7 billion people... We are coming close to... Disclosure Day. The footage in this trailer reminds me of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, with Spielberg showing us many humans & animals being taken over by aliens. What comes next? Disclosure Day stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo, with Wyatt Russell, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Michael Gaston, and Elliot Villar. There's a few more interesting shots, and one final jaw-drop "holy crap" moment when an alien ship starts to break through the clouds at the end. What a tease!
