"The ring is a miniature metaphor for the Earth - it's round, it's circular, it has no beginning, no ending, encompasses everything including power." 💍 With one month left to go before Season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series kicks off, Prime Video has started launching a full-on marketing push. After the SDCC trailer last weekend, they've debuted a "Forging the Rings" featurette. This behind-the-scenes looks focuses on the titular rings – the 20 "rings of power" that Suaron forges with the Elves to control Middle Earth. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season 1's epic scope and ambition, Season 2 plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. This features the legendary concept designer and illustrator John Howe (who also designed Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy) discussing the mythology around the rings & shows off making even more rings for this epic series.
