President Ghani invites Taliban to hold direct talks

Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani invited Taliban to hold direct dialogues with the government as the ruling authorities aimed to reach an end to 40-year-long war.

President Ashraf Ghani said that the Taliban has two options whether to stand besides Afghanis or to being used as tool by other countries.

He said that his government aimed to end the longstanding war in the country and it was also desire of every Afghani. Ghani said he wanted ensure his nation that no compromise will be made on their fundamental rights behind the name of peace and sovereignty will be maintained at any cost.

The President said that the government was making efforts to peace establishment and development of the country. Commenting over presence of foreign troops, Ghani said that not a single country wanted presence of foreign military troops inside its territory but it was need of the country now. He ensured that the foreign military troops will be withdrawn from the Afghan soil.
