Chilling Icelandic Horror Thriller Film 'The Damned' Official US Trailer
"I wouldn't sleep if I were you... a thing like that never stops." Vertical has revealed the official trailer for the indie horror film The Damned, from young Icelandic filmmaker Thordur Palsson marking his feature directorial debut. Not to be confused with the film about US Civil War soldiers also titled The Damned from this year, this is a haunting horror set on Iceland in the past. A 19th-century widow (starring Odessa Young) has to make an impossible choice when, during an especially cruel winter, a foreign ship sinks off the coast of her Icelandic fishing village. The Damned, an ominous and chilling thriller, follows Eve and her crew as they come across a shipwreck and are faced with the moral dilemma to help or not. An atmospheric blend of drama and psychological horror that captivated audiences at the 2024 Sitges Film Festival this fall. Starring Odessa Young, Joe Cole, Siobhan Finneran, & Rory McCann. Oh damn this looks super creepy and frightening, and also so freezing cold with all that ice & snow in every shot. Horror fans should not skip this. // Continue Reading ›

Kiernan Shipka & Nico Hiraga in Smart Comedy 'Sweethearts' Trailer
"Two best friends, one breakup pact...what can go wrong?" Max has revealed the trailer for a fun romantic comedy movie called Sweethearts, about two college freshmen getting into some romantic trouble. From the creator of "Dollface" comes an original movie - which is skipping theaters and will be out on streaming on Max at the end of November. Two college freshmen pull a "Turkey Dump" and break up with their high school sweethearts over "Drunksgiving" – the one chaotic night before Thanksgiving in their hometown that puts their codependent friendship to the test. Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga star as the best friends, with Charlie Hall, Jake Bongiovi, Caleb Hearon, Tramell Tillman, and Christine Taylor. This is a very New Jersey movie - it was shot in Jersey City and Cranford, and at Ramapo College in Mahwah. This looks surprisingly smart and unique and upbeat, featuring some really clever humor that might actually get you to laugh. Where did this come from?! I'd say it deserves to be playing in theaters not just on streaming. // Continue Reading ›

Where you choose which of these things you would do with three people. From BuzzFeed Studios (they still exist?). Jharrel Jerome & Jennifer Lopez in Wrestling Film 'Unstoppable' Trailer
"I used to be angry all the time. But I'm not angry anymore." Prime Video has revealed an official trailer for a sports movie called Unstoppable, telling the true story of one-legged wrestler Anthony Robles. Based on a true story, of course, as most sports movies usually are. This first premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, and it also played at Hawaii, Chicago, Montclair, Philadelphia, and Austin Film Festivals. Starring Jharrel Jerome (seen in Moonlight, "When They See Us", "I'm a Virgo") as Anthony Robles in another outstanding performance, Unstoppable is both an irresistible sports drama and a family story full of heart. In the wrestling circle and the locker room, he has to convince two tough coaches (Michael Peña and Don Cheadle) that his grit and potential are real. At home, he contends with an outspoken and loving mother going through some growing up of her own. In addition to Jerome, the cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, the real Anthony Robles, Don Cheadle, and Jennifer Lopez as his mother. Another Trailer for Essential Doc Film 'No Other Land' About Palestine
"This has been going on for decades... They destroy us slowly." Dogwoof has revealed another new official trailer for the acclaimed, award-wining film called No Other Land, made by four filmmakers from both Palestine & Israel. This premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, where it won two major awards and should've been supported by the festival. For half a decade, Basel Adra, a Palestinian activist, films his community of Masafer Yatta being destroyed by Israel's occupation, while he builds an unlikely alliance with an Israeli journalist who also wants to join his fight. I watched this doc at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival this summer and I very moved and unsettled by its portrayal of life in West Bank. There is no way anyone can watch this doc and not see, plain as day, what is really going on with Israel doing horrible things to Palestine and treating so many of these simple people so poorly. An essential, vitally important film that will open your eyes to the actual lives of many of these harmless people being attacked by Israel. The film needs all the support it can get as critics keep talking about why it's important. A must for doc fans. // Continue Reading ›

Monstrous New Trailer for 'Godzilla: Minus One' Re-Release This Year
"There's no way to stop it." The big radioactive lizard is back! Again! Japan's Toho is planning another 2024 re-release of this beloved, Oscar-winning, monster movie mega-hit Godzilla: Minus One. The re-release is part of the 70th Anniversary of Godzilla celebrations (more info here), because the original Gojira movie opened in Japan on November 1st way back in 1954. So this is also re-releasing on November 1st in the US as well - after a successful run last winter. Prolific Japanese filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki (Lupin III: The First, Stand by Me Doraemon) directed this epic action sci-fi - starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, Kuranosuke Sasaki. Post-war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb. The movie originally opened in Japan last November and in the US in December, becoming a hit worldwide before going on to make history at the Oscars winning Best Visual Effects. Which mostly just felt like Hollywood celebrating how great this movie is. If you love it and want to rewatch it on the big screen, it's the perfect time to honor the legacy of Gojira and hang out with the big guy. // Continue Reading ›

But this isn't any typical family drama — a mysterious spell has transformed her parents into massive, rampaging monsters. She goes on a quest to find out how to save her parents and maybe the entire kingdom. The main voice cast also includes John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, Tituss Burgess, with Javier Bardem & Nicole Kidman. Ted Danson Goes Undercover in 'A Man on the Inside' Series Trailer
"It's good for me. Makes me feel useful." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a comedy series called A Man on the Inside, which will be streaming later in November. This is the next series from Mike Schur, known for creating "Parks & Rec", "The Good Place", "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". This time he's borrowing from another source - this fun series is based on Oscar-nominated Chilean documentary film called The Mole Agent, which was included as one of my favorite documentaries of 2020. Retired professor Charles feels life has nothing new in store for him. He’s become stuck in his routine and grown distant from his daughter. But when he spies a classified ad from a private investigator, he’s inspired to roll the dice on a new adventure, going undercover into the Pacific View Retirement Home in San Francisco to solve the mystery of a stolen family heirloom. Ted Danson stars with Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Stephanie Beatriz, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and a cast including: Sally Struthers, Margaret Avery, John Getz, Susan Ruttan, Lori Tan Chinn, Clyde Kusatsu, Marc Evan Jackson, Jama Williamson, Wyatt Yang, and Deuce Basco. Wacky Trailer for 'The Sticky' Series About an Epic Maple Syrup Heist
"This is our chance... to show 'em who's boss!" Prime Video has unveiled an official trailer for a new comedy crime / heist thriller series called The Sticky, which will be streaming starting in December later this year. It's inspired by the true story known as the "Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist" - which really happened in 2011 & 2012. Officially, according to the numbers, it is the "most valuable heist in Canadian history!" How dare anyone steal that precious liquid gold. "Mayhem, murder, and maple syrup." The Sticky is a comedy-drama series about Ruth Landry, a maple syrup farmer who, in defiance of a heartless system, assembles a team of misfits to undertake the Canadian heist of the century. The target: the country's multi-million dollar maple syrup surplus. The acclaimed Margo Martindale stars as Ruth in this, with a series cast featuring Chris Diamantopoulos, Guillaume Cyr, Guy Nadon, Gita Miller, Mickaël Gouin, and Suzanne Clément. Oscar & Emmy winner Jamie Lee Curtis also appears as a guest star in the series (and in this trailer). Extra kooky with crime antics bouncing between Fargo to Super Troopers. Dystopian RomCom 'Turn Me On' First Trailer with Powley & Robinson
"We have to tell the others..." Signature Entertainment in the UK has unveiled an official trailer for an indie sci-fi romantic thriller called Turn Me On, set in an emotionless dystopian future. This just premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival and is already set for a UK debut next week on VOD, while still playing at film festivals without any US release date set yet. In a lifeless world, one couple will find their spark again in this dystopian romcom. In a world where the inconvenience of human emotion has been eradicated by a government-imposed daily vitamin, one young couple skips their dose and discovers love, joy, sex and all the baggage that comes with it. A young couple (named Joy and William) discover many new feelings, but realize they come with more challenges as well. Starring Bel Powley, Nick Robinson, Justin H. Min, Griffin Newman, Nesta Cooper, Patti Harrison, and D'Arcy Carden. This is the same concept as the sci-fi romance film Equals (2015) with Kristen Stewart, literally the exact same thing, which is a bit strange to see it all over again. But why not? I guess people still can't handle their emotions. I do really like this cast. // Continue Reading ›

Ken Jeong & Jae Suh Park Move to Wyoming in 'A Great Divide' Trailer
"Sometimes it feels like our country is at war with itself." Gravitas Ventures has revealed the official trailer for an indie film titled A Great Divide, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Jean Shim. This premiered last year at the Bentonville Film Fest, playing at the Heartland & Hawaii Film Festivals as well, though this is the first time we've encountered it. Always good to discover more "where did this come from?" indie gems. The Lee family leave the Bay Area for a fresh start living in the rural expanses of Wyoming, only to encounter hostility, racism, and xenophobia in their new small town community. How they confront these issues will break them – or make them stronger. A Great Divide also focuses on their son Benjamin, played Emerson Min, struggling with his new life. Jae Suh Park and Ken Jeong co-star as his parents, along with MeeWha Alana Lee as Grandma, Jaime McShane, Margaret Cho, Marshall Allman, Seamus Dever, West Mulholland, and Miya Cech (from the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series). This looks like a real heartfelt, earnest, beautifully-shot story unafraid to deal with the rotten truth about American racism, while still being a love letter to America and all that it can provide. Official US Trailer for 'I Like Movies' - Video Store Comedy from Canada
"I thought I got hired here to talk about real cinema." Ha! Oh, you wish buddy. Freestyle Digital Media is finally releasing this acclaimed Canadian indie film in America. I Like Movies is the feature directorial debut of Canadian filmmaker Chandler Levack and it premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival a few years ago. It's an exceptionally smart, nuanced, entirely original take on a young movie nerd geeking out over his job at a video store. Although he comes to learn that his obsession with movies prevents him from connecting with others. Set in the early 2000s (back when video stores still existed), Lawrence Kweller, a socially inept 17-year old cinephile, gets a job at a video store, where he forms a complicated friendship with his older female manager. I Like Movies stars Isaiah Lehtinen as Lawrence, along with Romina D'Ugo, Krista Bridges, Percy Hynes White, Alex Ateah, and Andy McQueen. I wrote a rave review of this film in 2022, calling it "a remarkably empathetic and warm-hearted film about the challenges of growing up as a nerd and growing into yourself." First Trailer for 'William Tell' Movie Starring Ben Kingsley & Claes Bang
"This is about our freedom, our families!" Altitude Films has revealed the first trailer for the film William Tell, an epic new look at this iconic fictional character. It just premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival last month to mostly mixed reviews, and it's set for a UK release in January. Though no US release has been set. As the nations of medieval Europe struggle for power, the ruthless Austrian Empire invades neighboring Switzerland, and a peaceful huntsman, William Tell, is thrust into the heart of their resistance. The story unfolds in the 14th Century amidst the days of the Holy Roman Empire where Europe's nations fiercely vie for supremacy and the ambitious Austrians, desiring more land, encroach upon Switzerland, a serene and pastoral nation. TIFF says it is "full of bravery, honour, and some dazzling battles, this big-screen version of the legendary hero’s tale is pure pleasure to watch. William Tell may or may not have existed in real life, but his story is so irresistible that it has become the origin story of Switzerland." Claes Bang stars as William Tell, in a cast including Connor Swindells, Golshifteh Farahani, Jonah Hauer-King, Ellie Bamber, Rafe Spall, Emily Beecham, Jonathan Pryce, and Sir Ben Kingsley. Willis passed away in 2019 at the age of 72, but left behind tons of archival footage and recordings, which have been put together to make this doc film about her. "Ten minutes, fifteen, tops. No violence, just in and out." Netflix has revealed a trailer for a Swedish crime thriller mystery series called The Helicopter Heist, based on an actual true story. Arriving for streaming in November. A helicopter lands on the roof of Sweden's safest cash depot and the police can only watch as the robbers disappear along with several million. Not a single shot is fired. The series tells the story of the meticulous planning and secret drama behind this heist. The Helicopter Heist is a reality-based & character-driven suspense series about the drama behind one of the most spectacular heists – a grand & fast paced Icarus tale about winning, or losing, it all. Based on true events, The Helicopter Heist tells the story of the meticulous planning, ingenuity and nerve that went into pulling it off. Going far beyond anything previously told about this notorious event, we get to see how it might have happened with the criminals. The series stars Mahmut Suvakci, Ardalan Esmaili, Iskra Kostic, Dejan Milacic, Erik Svedberg-Zelman, Vic Carmen Sonne, Johanna Hedberg, and Wim Elfwencrona. This looks like it would pair well with the Swedish series "Clark" about the bank robbery that coined the term "Stockholm Syndrome". Get a look. // Continue Reading ›

"Monumental." A24 has unveiled the first trailer for the masterpiece film The Brutalist, the third feature film directed by acclaimed filmmaker / actor Brady Corbet. It premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival where it was instantly regarded as one of the best films of the year, a towering, monumental, masterpiece of American cinema about a brilliant architect who emerges from the Holocaust in WWII and resettles in America. When visionary architect László Toth and his wife Erzsébet flee post-war Europe in 1947 to rebuild their legacy and witness the birth of modern America, their lives are changed forever by a mysterious and extremely wealthy benefactor - a man named Harrison Lee Van Buren Sr. Made by director Brady Corbet, co-written by Brady Corbet & Mona Fastvold, the film stars Adrien Brody as László, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Emma Laird, with Isaach De Bankolé, and Alessandro Nivola. Shot on film and projected on film (both 35mm and 70mm) this is opening in theaters starting in December. I'm one of many who have already been calling this a masterpiece, describing it in my review as a film "we will be celebrating for decades to come." First Trailer for Totally Nuts 'Traction Park Massacre' Horror Thriller
"Check it out - the Death Loop!" A wild trailer has debuted for an indie horror thriller film called Traction Park Massacre, a theme park horror riff made by the filmmakers Douglas DiMonda & Adam Dubin. They had a panel at New York Comic-Con which is where this trailer is from. It's expected to arrive sometime in 2025, as there's no release or festival premiere set yet - but this first look does hype it up. "Young People meet Outlaw Bikers meet feral Twin Psycho-killers in a notorious abandoned water park." Terror Twins LLC is making the film, which is described as an homage to horror cult classics like Evil Dead 2, Friday the 13th, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, etc. Also inspired by the infamous Action Park water park in New Jersey (profiled in this doc Class Action Park) that was actually very dangerous. Traction Park Massacre stars Kai Thomas Schulz, Bodhi Schulz, and Helene Henry, plus many others. The soundtrack features classic metal tracks, a score by Testament's Alex Skolnick, and a theme song "Traction Park Massacre (Don't Cry For Me)" by Brooklyn metal band Das Moöse. This sounds & looks bonkers! Keep an eye out for it next year. // Continue Reading ›

Watch: Filmmaker Sean Baker Shows How 35mm Film Prints Are Made
"Use film if you can." 🎞️ Letterboxd has debuted a promo video featuring the acclaimed director of Anora, Sean Baker, visiting a film processing facility in Los Angeles to check the quality of newly struck prints. This the kind of marketing I dig! Anora just opened in US theaters last weekend and will be expanding to more cities soon - and some special locations will be showing it in 35mm. This video features Letterboxd's host Flynn Slicker interviewing filmmaker Baker while he visits FotoKem, a famous film processing house based in Burbank (originally founded in 1963!). Anora was also shot on 35mm using Arricam LT cameras, processed into a digital negative by Kodak Film Lab. It's nice to see them going back and letting it screen on film in at least a few theaters. Of course, Brady Corbet's The Brutalist will also be getting a full-on 35mm & 70mm film release coming up in December this fall. I am a cinema geek that loves getting into this kind of stuff, the technical details of how to make and print and prepare film stock for projection. I also enjoy any videos about projectionists and the few projection rooms that still have real film projectors installed. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›

David Schwimmer in Chilling Tale 'Goosebumps: The Vanishing' Trailer
"Dad's behind all the crazy stuff happening." Disney+ has revealed a new trailer for the next season of their Goosebumps horror anthology series - called Goosebumps: The Vanishing, with David Schwimmer as the poster boy (literally) for this next chilling tale. The Vanishing is an 8 episode mini-series continuation of the Goosebumps series from last year - created by filmmakers Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller; based on R. L. Stine's books of the same name. Schwimmer stars as Anthony Brewer, a former botany professor who gets infected. "After his brother went missing with a group of kids in 1994, who local teens believe 'were killed by ghosts,' Anthony looks into evidence from the scene, which infects him with a mysterious symbiotic organism." It also follows the twins Cece & Devin and their friends who also find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teens who vanished in 1994. The cast includes Ana Ortiz, Jayden Bartels, Sam McCarthy, Elijah M. Cooper, Francesca Noel, and Galilea La Salvia. At first glance this reminds me of the Jordy Verrill part of Creepshow with the alien plant. This does look creepy but also quite cheesy, too. // Continue Reading ›

The life of one of Japan's most iconic photographers... K5 Intl. has revealed a first look teaser trailer for a biopic film called Ravens from Japan, made by a British filmmaker named Mark Gill (his second feature after England is Mine). The film is premiering at the 2024 Austin Film Festival underway right now – which is this teaser it out to view. The film is a dark fantasy love story about the legendary Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase and his wife Yoko. This rockin' new biopic stars legendary Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano, who totally ruled the role of Kashigi Yabushige in the "Shogun" series on FX, as the lead character Masahisa Fukase. The cast also includes Kumi Takiuchi as Yoko, Sôsuke Ikematsu, Kanji Furutachi, and Gô Jibiki. After this premiere, it will open in Japan in early 2025 - so expect more updates on the full US release sometime next year. This does look like an intriguing photographer biopic with some trippy vibes as its set in the 1970s with lots of wild partying. He also seemed to be haunted by ravens? Official Trailer for 'Dreaming Dogs' Doc About Stray Dogs in Moscow
"Stay here with me. I'll always protect you." 🐕 An official trailer is ready for an indie documentary film called Dreaming Dogs, another new doggie doc to enjoy. This is playing at the 2024 Vienna Film Festival in Venice this week, which is why the trailer is debuting now. It's directed by the Austrian filmmaker Elsa Kremser, along with the German filmmaker Levin Peter, as their follow-up to their 2019 doc Space Dogs which is also about Russian doggos. A pack of strays - seven dogs and one woman, are straying in constant restlessness through a savage landscape where the city of Moscow is cracking. They explain: "In Space Dogs, we confronted the untamed life of dogs on the street with the human abuse of them for space exploration... Dreaming Dogs is all about the interdependence of these two species. What does it mean when dogs and humans become so close that life without each other seems impossible?" An intriguing question though it seems this film is made-up of leftover footage they shot while making the first film. If you love dogs or want to examine their connection with humans, keep an eye out for this doc film whenever it shows near you. 🐶 // Continue Reading ›

Amanda Waller decides to send out a batch of monsters on her missions instead of humans. Starring Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoë Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride, and Viola Davis back as Waller. First Look Teaser for Flying Lotus' Next Film 'Ash' Trippy Sci-Fi Horror
"What happened here?" RLJE Films has revealed a first look teaser for Ash, the next cinema project from acclaimed musician / filmmaker Flying Lotus. It's his latest feature since making the experimental Kuso film in 2017, along with a short film in the V/H/S/99 anthology. A woman wakes up on a distant planet and finds the crew of her space station viciously killed. Her investigation into what happened sets in motion a terrifying chain of events. Apparently this is less experimental and more "contained" than Kuso, with a full-on production budget. He shot it down in NZ: "People go to New Zealand to shoot sci-fi and fantasy movies, so I was [working with] all these people who worked on The Lord of the Rings and other Peter Jackson and James Cameron stuff." Ash stars Eiza González, Aaron Paul, Iko Uwais, Kate Elliott, Beulah Koale, and Flying Lotus himself. Whoa this looks rad! Hell yes! Frightening Full Trailer for Leigh Whannell's 'Wolf Man' Monster Movie
"We were attacked... I think my husband was infected." Universal has debuted the full official trailer for the new Wolf Man movie, arriving in theaters January 2025 early next year. The shorter teaser debuted just last month, but there's plenty more frightening footage to see here. Produced by Jason Blum & Blumhouse, this a fresh update on the classic Universal Monster originally invented with the 1941 film The Wolf Man. Most recently there was the 2010 remake called The Wolfman starring Benicio Del Toro (anyone remember it?) plus tons of other werewolf flicks. From Blumhouse and visionary writer-director Leigh Whannell, the creators of the chilling modern monster tale The Invisible Man, comes a terrifying new lupine nightmare: Wolf Man. The new tagline: "What if someone you loved became something else?" A man must save himself and his family when they are stalked, terrorized, and haunted by a deadly werewolf at night during a full moon. Christopher Abbott stars with Julia Garner, Sam Jaeger, Matilda Firth, Ben Prendergast, and Benedict Hardie. Don't expect a full reveal of the Wolf Man yet, that never happens this early. From this trailer the movie feels like it's borrowing from The Fly, showing him gradually changing into a monster. // Continue Reading ›

"The Imperium is a circus of fear and rumor. I'm surrounded by vipers!" Whoa! This looks awesome. WB has revealed their full official trailer for the epic new sci-fi series Dune: Prophecy, a spin-off show that will stream on Max in November. It's the best trailer yet! Set 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreides, before the universe knew them as the Bene Gesserit... This is directly connected to Denis Villeneuve's two (so far) brilliant Dune movies but takes place in the distant past. Based on the book "Sisterhood of Dune" by Kevin J. Anderson and Brian Herbert (Frank's son). A better intro from the novel: "It is eighty-three years after the last of the thinking machines were destroyed in the Battle of Corrin, after Faykan Butler took the name of Corrino and established himself as the first Emperor of a new Imperium. Great changes are brewing that will shape and twist all of humankind." So much going on in this trailer! Dune: Prophecy stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, Jade Anouka, Chris Mason, Jodhi May, Josh Heuston, Tabu, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, and Shalom Brune-Franklin. "You are not ready to see what's out there." Well Go USA has debuted an official trailer for a dark thriller film called Beyond the Wasteland, made by filmmaker Vardan Tozija, originally titled just M during its festival premiere. This film comes from Macedonia and is a new take on a post-apocalyptic future - though it's really just another zombie movie. Not to be confused with another doc also called Beyond the Wasteland that is about Mad Max fans, this is a gritty horror feature instead. In a world ravaged by a deadly virus, a young boy is faced with losing everything as he journeys through a shattered world, shrouded in silence and overtaken by the infected and the conflict-torn remnants of humanity. The indie film stars Matej Sivakov, Sashko Kocev, Aleksandar Nicovski, Kamka Tocinovski, Bojana Gregoric Vejzovic, and Verica Nedeska. It won an award at the Sofia Film Festival for the "remarkable work with the child actors in the anti-utopian fairy tale." "You can't change the way things are." "Watch me." Netflix has revealed the teaser trailer for a sci-fi film called The Electric State, the next big project from The Russo Brothers after making The Gray Man for Netflix a few years ago. Yes, this is adapted from the spectacular graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag featuring an alternate-world where machines and humans co-exist. Let the robots run free! The film stars Millie Bobby Brown as Michelle, Chris Pratt as Keats, along with Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, and Woody Norman. Plus Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and Alan Tudyk are providing their voices to the robots. Official Trailer for Rodrigo Prieto's Film 'Pedro Páramo' from Mexico

This film just premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival and will be out on Netflix to watch starting in November. The story follows a dusty road to a town of death. Time shifts from one consciousness to another in a hypnotic flow of dreams, desires, and memories, a world of ghosts dominated by the figure of Pedro Páramo – lover, overlord, murderer. Pedro Páramo not only pays tribute to Mexico's most important literary work, it is also a tribute to love, one as powerful as it is macabre, capable of bringing the entire town of Comala and all its inhabitants down with it... Based on Juan Rulfo's masterpiece. Featuring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Pedro Paramo, Tenoch Huerta, Dolores Heredia, Ilse Salas, Héctor Kotsifakis, Mayra Batalla, Roberto Sosa, Giovanna Zacarías, Noé Hernández, and Yoshira Escárrega. Spanish Robbery Thriller 'You Would Do It Too' Trailer from Apple TV+
"Would you hide the truth for justice?" Apple TV has unveiled an official US trailer for a Spanish mystery thriller series called You Would Do It Too, created by David Victori and Jordi Vallejo. This crime series comes from Spain and it already debuted streaming in Spain and Mexico a year ago. Apple just caught up with it now and will send it streaming in the US on Apple TV+ soon. An armed robbery takes place on the bus line that connects the airport with several cities near Barcelona. The result? The three dead robbers, a wanted person, and six witnesses can't identify the fugitive. Why won't they talk? As they navigate a world where perception often trumps reality, this thriller shines a spotlight on the importance of truth in today's society and the lengths people will go to protect their own version of it. Starring Ana Polvorosa, Michelle Jenner, Pablo Molinero, and José Manuel Poga. These kind of twisty crime and murder, who-did-it / why, series are pretty popular in the US, too. The film premiered under the original title Walking Supply instead, showing at one film festival in late 2023, now set for a November release this fall. That original title is a bit clunky and strange, though Whiteout is also too generic and doesn't tease anything about this story at all. This the thrilling survival story of three men who escape from a Russian labor camp and must overcome the treacherous wilderness & each other as their journey turns into a brutal fight for survival. Watch: Vibrant Animated Music Video for 'Dark Mystery Enigma Bird'

This is another fun discovery! Made by an animation filmmaker from Montreal for a band from Montreal called Nap Eyes, this super weird super fun music video is worth a watch. "Dr. Cool", as he calls himself, created this hand-drawn music video for the Nap Eyes' song "Dark Mystery Enigma Bird" off of their new album out this month. It starts out with a group of horses going on a joy ride when the truck they're standing in rolls down a hill and takes them into the mountains and around the hills. As usual with these music videos, all kinds of weird things happen.
