Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said Pakistan would continue to play its role and facilitate the Afghan peace process.
“We firmly believe that a lasting peace can only be achieved if it is Afghan led and Afghan owned,” Shah Mehmood Qureshi wrote in a tweet in response to United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad’s tweet thanking Pakistan for efforts supporting the Afghan peace process and for re-affirming the understanding that ultimately Afghans, and Afghans alone, will determine their future.
