At least two persons were killed and 12 injured Friday as a powerful explosion hit the Quaidabad area of Karachi. The blast reportedly damaged buildings and triggered panic.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, the provincial chief minister confirmed that two people were killed in the explosion and said, “12 people were injured in the blast of which 10 were provided medical treatment and discharged from the hospital while one is critical.”
“Another explosive device was found from the area after the explosion and was defused,” he added.
“We are conducting an investigation into the matter and only when the investigation is complete will we know the intensity, nature and target of the blast. Thus, till investigation is complete we cannot say anything,” Shah asserted.
The Sindh chief minister further shared that they have acquired land for a forensic lab. “We are trying to build a lab in Sindh but in the meantime will seek help from other provinces,” he said.
Responding to a question on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement on “U-turns” a day earlier, the provincial chief minister said, “I don’t know what the purpose of the statement was. He [PM Imran] has gone from U-turns to W-turns.”
