"Who lost it all?" Netflix has unveiled a trailer for a documentary film titled Who Killed the Montreal Expos?, a sports history look back at a beloved baseball team. The Montreal Expos were the very first MLB team in Canada playing for 3 long decades. After the 2004 season, the franchise moved to Washington, D.C., and became the Washington Nationals. 20 years after they lost its beloved Expos, fans still want answers. Who Killed the Montreal Expos? takes a behind-the-scenes look at the controversial decisions, setbacks, and missteps (and betrayal?!) that sealed the team's fate. Through candid interviews with Hall of Famers Pedro Martinez, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., and Larry Walker, along with beloved manager Felipe Alou, journalists, former employees, and diehard fans who lived through it all, the doc film investigates the behind-the-scenes controversies, devastating setbacks, and critical missteps that led to the shocking loss of one of the game’s most cherished franchises. New Trailer for Thai Sci-Fi 'Project Genesis' Time Travel Adventure Film
"Reset the timeline by sending out a signal..." Capelight Pictures has debuted the full trailer for a Thai sci-fi movie called Project Genesis, also known as Taklee Genesis, made by filmmaker Chookiat Sakveerakul. After first debuting last year (first teaser here), this is finally getting a US release direct-to-VOD / Blu-ray starting in October - in time for spooky season. A time-travel adventure that takes place during the Cold War when a US military base in Thailand was testing the Taklee Genesis, a warp-speed teleporter even though it had not yet been fully developed. After the war, the Taklee Genesis was left behind in Thailand and was being illegally used by someone. A striking blend of practical effects, CGI spectacle, and emotional storytelling, Project Genesis cements Sakveerakul's reputation as one of Southeast Asia's most imaginative genre filmmakers. There's dinosaurs, monsters, time travel, and much more in this! Starring Paula Taylor, Peter Corp Dyrendal, Wanarat Ratsameerat, and Nutthacha Jessica Padovan. It's a breathtaking, high-concept journey that fuses time-travel science fiction with kaiju, dinosaurs, cavemen, and zombies—a bold cinematic mashup that spans over 7,000 years of history. This looks totally crazy! Reminds me of that other Thai CGI movie Rebirth: Home Sweet Home recently. It's definitely worth a look if you're a sci-fi geek. // Continue Reading ›

First Trailer for Ulrich Köhler's 'Gavagai' Meta Film Premiering at NYFF
"I"m nervous about tonight..." Luxbox has revealed the first official trailer for the film Gavagai, the latest from German filmmaker Ulrich Köhler. He is a talented under-the-radar director best known for his post-apocalyptic film In My Room from a few years ago. Gavagai is premiering now at the 2025 New York and Zurich Film Festivals now, before showing at Hamburg and even more fests this fall. It's a meta story about a filmmaker making a film then encountering racism during its premiere. On the set of a turbulent shoot of a Medea adaptation in Senegal, Africa, Maja seeks solace in a love affair with her co-star Nourou. Months later, they meet again at the film’s premiere in Berlin. Old feelings resurface, but a racist incident unsettles their reunion. Tensions rise as everyone tries to do the right thing. While the ancient tragedy plays out on screen, a contemporary drama unfolds. Gavagai stars Jean-Christophe Folly, Maren Eggert, Nathalie Richard, and Anna Diakhere Thiandoum. This looks quite good! I'm surprised it didn't show up at any other fests like Venice or TIFF, but I'm glad it's getting a chance to shine now. Keep an eye out for this one. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for 'The Alabama Solution' Doc About Prison Corruption
"They don't want the public to see what's really going on on the inside..." HBO Max has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film titled The Alabama Solution, an extraordinary inside look at the problems within the American prison system. This film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and also played at Sheffield DocFest. Made by acclaimed doc filmmaker Andrew Jarecki, it is ready to view on HBO Max in October. Composed primarily of contraband cell phone footage taken by incarcerated men at Easterling and other facilities across the state, The Alabama Solution film exposes the inhumane conditions, systemic injustice, and brutal treatment of those behind bars in the Alabama prison system told through their own voices and their own stories. The film expertly weaves the pressing issues of prison privatization, inmate slave labor, abuse of power, government corruption, and extreme violence together to help audiences on the outside get a real sense of the abhorrent conditions of our fellow human beings. First Look Teaser for 'The Bride!' with Jessie Buckley & Christian Bale
"There is nothing left to do now but live." Warner Bros has unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Bride!, the highly anticipated creation from the mind of filmmaker Maggie Gyllenhaal (director of the excellent film The Lost Daughter). From director Maggie Gyllenhaal and starring Jessie Buckley & Christian Bale comes The Bride! A bold, iconoclastic take on one of the world’s most compelling stories. In 1930s Chicago, Frankenstein's monster asks Dr. Euphronius to create a companion for him. They give life to a murdered woman known as "the Bride," sparking romance, police interest and radical social change. Inspired by Mary Shelley's classic tale, and the original Bride of Frankenstein horror movie from 1935, though this is clearly something brand new from Gyllenhaal's mind. This stars Buckley & Bale, with Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. It's set to hit theaters in March 2026 - this is an early teaser with a glimpse of footage. Plenty of style & spunk to get everyone excited for it. This first premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and was regarded as one of the best films from the festival - it ended up in my Top 10 Best of the Fest list. Using bodycam footage from dozens of police visits, The Perfect Neighbor bears witness to a tight-knit community navigating one neighbor's relentless harassment. But her hostility takes a sinister turn when it escalates into a fatal crime. It's an infuriating, unsettling, sad true story. One woman. Dozens of 911 calls. And a close-knit neighborhood caught in a nightmare by a "Karen". What begins as one woman's harassment of children spirals into a shocking act of violence – murder. This story is told entirely through gripping police bodycam footage. The Perfect Neighbor - also winner of Sundance Film Festival's Directing Award - delivers a hauntingly powerful experience that keeps you on edge from start to finish. MGM+ has revealed a first look official trailer for their brand new Robin Hood series, their latest take on the Robin Hood legend. The last big movie we had was Ridley Scott's Robin Hood in 2010, plus the very cheesy Taron Egerton version from 2018. This new mini-series will be streaming in November worldwide. A Saxon forester's son, Rob, and the daughter of a Norman lord, Marian, work together to fight for justice and freedom following the Norman invasion of England in the Middle Ages. Rob becomes the leader of a band of rebel outlaws while Marian infiltrates the Norman courts, as they collaborate to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to England. From Lionsgate Television and co-created by executive producers John Glenn and Jonathan English (who also directed the pilot), and Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, who was also an executive producer, Robin Hood stars Jack Patten as Rob, Lauren McQueen as Marian, Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine. This definitely looks made-for-TV but also doesn't look that bad. Some cool shots in this, hopefully it's as powerful and inspiring as it seems to be. // Continue Reading ›

Review: 'The Son and the Sea' Finds Healing on the Scottish Coast
When we're feeling overwhelmed, there's nothing better than a trip out into nature. To breathe the fresh air, to appreciate the calm and quiet, to ponder life and our next steps forward. One new film from the UK this year presents a heartfelt cinematic version of this kind of special experience. The Son and the Sea marks the feature directorial debut of London-based filmmaker Stroma Cairns, following two wild & crazy young men as they travel up to the Northeast coast of Scotland. It's a flawed yet fascinating film, a solid feature debut from Cairns. She's got the right eye and does her best to capture this story through her lens – making unique choices that don't always work but nonetheless feel like the director's vision is clear and strong. She knows what she wants to do with this story & how to tell it her way, but sometimes she tries to do too much, packing in too many ideas with a smattering of characters. The film carefully "blends personal experience and threads of familial history to question how boys become men if there's no one to show them the way." // Continue Reading ›

Jean Dujardin in 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' French Remake Trailer
"Our life is fleeting... Tiny – that's what we are." Universal France has revealed two full official trailers for a brand new modern remake of the classic story about The Incredible Shrinking Man. From director Jan Kounen, this new French movie is called L'homme qui rétrécit (or just The Shrinking Man as there's no other English title yet). Jean Dujardin stars in this remake / re-adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel, which is directed by French filmmaker Jan Kounen, and will be released in France this October. It's premiering first at the 2025 Sitges Film Festival in October - that's how I found out about this one, since it has barely been mentioned over in the US so far. A shipbuilder named Paul living on the coast inexplicably begins to shrink, then gets trapped in his own basement, only once inch (a few cm) tall. He must fight for survival in now-hostile ordinary household environment. "The Shrinking Man is both a coming-of-age story and an adventure film." Also starring Marie-Josée Croze and Daphné Richard. And with a new score by Alexandre Desplat. This looks damn good! Not as cheesy or as ridiculous as I was expecting. Of course, once he gets small, he battles his own cat and a very scary looking realistic spider. This looks terrifying! I'm definitely curious to check it out – I hope it'll also play in the US not long after the French opening this fall. // Continue Reading ›

New Trailer for 'St. Elmo's Fire' 4K Re-Release for its 40th Anniversary
"All I can remember... is the seven of us always together." Sony Pictures has revealed a brand new trailer to celebrate the 40th Anniversary re-release of the 80s classic film St. Elmo's Fire, a story about life and love and friendship made by Joel Schumacher. This is a big favorite among Gen Xers, an important film for the time - first released in June 1985. The Brat Pack is BACK. Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of St. Elmo's Fire, newly restored in 4K and back in select theaters starting on October 17th this fall. A group of friends, just out of college, struggle with adulthood. Seven friends - Alec, Billy, Jules, Kevin, Kirby, Leslie, Wendy - are trying to navigate through life & their friendships following graduation from Washington DC's Georgetown University while often at their ol' dive known as St. Elmo's Bar. Starring Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez, Mare Winningham, Andie MacDowell. Critics don't seem to like this film much. One review states that the film reminds "us that the eighties were far, far worse than any of us can recall today, and by helping these monsters get their careers off the ground, we will be paying for our sins for decades to come." Ouch! They're not so bad. Anyone else enjoy this movie? // Continue Reading ›

Tim Robinson & Lake Bell in 'The Chair Company' Kooky Series Trailer
"You're disgusting – these are my work clothes!" HBO Max has revealed the first official trailer for a kooky comedy series called The Chair Company, co-created by the comedy writers Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin (both worked for "SNL" for years). So this sees to be the spiritual sequel to the hilarious Friendship movie from earlier this year? The series stars Tim Robinson as a man who investigates a far-reaching conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident. The main cast includes Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Will Price, Joseph Tudisco, & Lou Diamond Phillips. With episodes directed by Andrew DeYoung, director of the film Friendship. So what did he discover? They don't reveal in here – would could it be? This reminds me of a Charlie Kaufman comedy, it has very similar vibes to Being John Malkovich or even a bit of Boots Riley's Sorry to Bother You. I hope it gets crazier & crazier as it goes on! Ready to watch and find out later this fall. // Continue Reading ›

Full Trailer for Jason Clarke's 'The Last Frontier' Alaska Crash Thriller
"This is Alaska – there's no perimeter. People up here are different." This looks wild! Something big going on. Apple TV+ has debuted the full official trailer for a new thriller series titled The Last Frontier. Ready to watch streaming on Apple TV+ starting on October 10th this fall. Still reminds me of both Con-Air and The Grey (the 2011 Liam Neeson survival film). U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick's jurisdiction is turned upside-down when a prison transport plane crashes somewhere out in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates. Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, he suspects the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with far-reaching and devastating implications. Uh that's scary! Jason Clarke stars as Remnick, along with Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, Tait Blum, & Alfre Woodard. Also can see Clifton Collins Jr. on the plane. With episodes directed by filmmakers John Curran (director of the movies The Painted Veil, Stone, Tracks, Chappaquiddick, Mercy Road) and Sam Hargrave (of Extraction 1 & 2). There is a LOT going on in this series! Much more than just a story about rounding up prisoners in the Alaskan wilderness. Worth a watch. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for Gurinder Chadha's 'Christmas Karma' UK Musical
"Find forgiveness!" "Why should I do the forgiving?" Time for X-Mas fun! True Brit Ent. has revealed the first official trailer for a musical comedy Christmas movie called Christmas Karma - from the acclaimed filmmaker Gurinder Chadha (best known for the films Bend It Like Beckham, Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging, Blinded By The Light). I'm a big fan of Chadha and her films (and her musicals) so I have to say I'm curious to see how this out plays. Take Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol story, add heaps of British musical and acting talent, and you have a modern film set in vibrant, diverse London. Told from Chadha's unique point of view and in her own distinctive style – starring actor Kunal Nayyar as Eshaan Sood, the Ebenezer Scrooge of this modern "It's a Wonderful Life" story in the UK. The whimsical cast includes Eva Longoria, Billy Porter, Boy George, Danny Dyer, Leo Suter, Pixie Lott, Charithra Chandran, and Hugh Bonneville. With music from Gary Barlow, Nitin Sawhney, Shaznay Lewis, Ben Cullum, Panjabi MC, Jassi Sidhu and Malkit Singh, the film features an eclectic soundtrack influenced by gospel, bhangra, carols, rap and classic pop songs. You will not be able to sit still! 🎅 The "festive, feel-good event of the year" opens in UK cinemas in November. Though still no US release set. Funny First Trailer for 'Anaconda' Remake with Paul Rudd & Jack Black
"We are in the middle of the jungle and we are being hunted!" 🐍 Big snake energy. Sony Pictures revealed the first official trailer for their new Anaconda remake, a goofy action comedy in theaters on Christmas Day at the end of this year. The original Anaconda is a 90s classic, a totally ridiculous action movie starring JLo & Ice Cube that is unintentionally funny but also quite scary. This remake is going full-on with humor and a wacky meta concept. Two friends are going through a mid-life crisis – so they decide to remake their favorite movie from their youth but encounter unexpected events when they enter the jungle. Things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. Starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black as Griff and Doug, with Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello. Well, this is a strange idea for a remake. Then the comedy gets really dumb in the second half of this trailer. This is what they're doing? Not sure it will be any good. What do you think? // Continue Reading ›

Official US Trailer for 'Trifole' About the Way of Life in Piedmont, Italy
"My methods, my secrets will live and die with me. Understood?" The truffle hunter's secrets are his alone. Cohen Media Group has debuted an official US trailer for an indie film from Italy titled Trifole, made by Italian filmmaker Gabriele Fabbro. This already opened in Italy last year and it played at the Santa Barbara Film Festival earlier this year. Set for a limited debut in the US in November this fall. In this bittersweet portrait of a vanishing rural way of life, aimless grandaughter Dalia travels to Piedmont, Italy to care for her aging grandfather Igor, an expert forager. Armed with his loyal dog Birba, she hunts for prizewinning truffle to save his home. From filmmaker Gabriele Fabbro, one of MovieMaker Magazine’s 2022 writers to watch, and co-written by rising star Ydelie Turk (who plays Dalia), Trifole stars the Italian screen legends Umberto Orsini & Margherita Buy, 7-time David di Donatello Award-winner. Well this looks absolutely gorgeous! How did this film fly under the radar for so long? So many sweet and wholesome moments in this trailer alone. And best of all - it stars the cutest truffle hunter doggie Birba! I will be watching it just for him. // Continue Reading ›

Kate Beckinsale Stars in Action Thriller Trash 'Stolen Girl' Full Trailer
"They need you on these jobs." Vertical and Voltage Pictures have unveiled an official trailer for an action thriller movie titled Stolen Girl, arriving to watch later this month. Another one of these super obviously, poorly shot, entirely cliche action movies being dumped VOD soon. Though someone will inevitably say it's a good movie anyway. To top it off, it's directed by a TV director who has barely ever done any action or any real feature films before. Is he the only they could get to make this junk? Supposedly based on a true story, an American woman spends more than ten years tracking down her daughter who was abducted and taken to the Middle East by the child's father. Their big mission takes them to Beirut, where they're pulled into a treacherous web of international espionage, betrayal, and corruption. Stolen Girl stars Kate Beckinsale, Scott Eastwood, Jordan Duvigneau, Matt Craven, & Arvin Kananian. This looks as terrible as any movie can – and it looks like blatant propaganda to always keep people afraid of "others". Avoid at all costs. // Continue Reading ›

Intense Teaser for 'The Great Flood' - Epic Korean Apocalypse Movie
"You have to create a new mankind... all we have is you." Netflix has unveiled a first look teaser trailer for The Great Flood, a new disaster movie from Korea about a massive flood destroying the world. This one is premiering at the 2025 Busan Film Festival later this week, which is why this teaser has launched now. On what may be the last day on Earth, a life-or-death struggle in a flooded apartment becomes humanity's one & only hope for survival. When a raging flood traps a researcher & her young son, a call to a crucial mission puts their escape—and the future of humanity—on the line. The Great Flood is a sci-fi disaster blockbuster film following those holding onto the last shred of hope for humanity to survive in a flooded building on the last day on Earth. Starring Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo. There's also some kind of Artificial Intelligence subplot to this, but it's hard to discern if that's because they need her to store all of humanity's data on some servers somewhere in a safe bunker. Intense! The massive waves remind me of the disaster movie 2012 – we haven't seen anything like this in a while. I'll be watching when it's out later this year! A Making Of Featurette for 'The Smashing Machine' from Benny Safdie
"The Smashing Machine is a love letter to relationships, to the grace of winning, and the lesson of loss." A24 has revealed a new behind-the-scenes promo featurette for The Smashing Machine, from director Benny Safdie. This time it's just Benny's project alone, he wrote & directed this without his brother Josh. It just premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, where it won Best Director, and hits theaters in October in just a few weeks. In The Smashing Machine, the story is focused on the "trailblazing UFC, PRIDE, and VFC fighter" Mark Kerr during the peak of his career in 2000. Detailing the good, the bad, and the ugly of his rise to the top of the sport. MMA fighter Mark Kerr struggles with addiction, winning, and love during his peak in the UFC. Starring Dwayne Johnson with impressive facial prosthetics in a powerful lead role as Kerr. Also co-starring Emily Blunt as his girlfriend, and featuring Lyndsey Gavin, Oleksandr Usyk, Ryan Bader, Satoshi Ishii; plus Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros as themselves. Featuring authentic matches, which they show a bit of in this making of look. They're really over-selling the "he was a tough guy that people didn't understand" aspect of this film, which I don't think will draw many to theaters. Thoughts? // Continue Reading ›

Freaky Teaser Trailer for Horror Film 'Dolly' About a Monstrous Figure
"Whatchu think – you can just do whatever you want now?!" Blue Finch Films has unveiled the first look teaser trailer for a scary, unsettling new horror film playing at genre festivals this year. From director Rod Blackhurst (of Blood for Dust), Dolly is a freaky horror film about a "monstrous figure" that is screening at both Fantastic Fest & the Sitges Film Festival this fall. A young woman, Macy, fights for survival after being abducted by a deranged, monster-like figure who wants to raise Macy as their child. A daring blend of New French Extremity and 1970s American horror. This "chilling folk-horor tale" features Fabianne Therese, Seann William Scott, Ethan Suplee, Kate Cobb, and the "transmasc wrestler" Max the Impaler. FF adds this juicy tidbit: "Nothing is ever quite as it seems, except of course for the absolutely goopy practical effects in this lo-fi throwback to the isolated murder families of The Hills Have Eyes and the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Director Rod Blackhurst combines his clear inspiration with a uniquely demented point of view, building on his previous work." Sounds gnarly! Venice 2025 Recap - 8 Outstanding Films to Watch From the Festival
"What I want to test is not so complex..." Each year, I am lucky for the opportunity to return to the splendid city of Venice in Northern Italy to attend the Venice Film Festival and catch the latest films premiering there. This year's festival was much better than the previous year (my recap of 2024 here) and I've listed the 8 best films of the festival below. This was my ninth year returning to Venice, and I'm always glad to be back, no matter how many terrific films I get to see (or bad films I have to sit through anyway). In total, I watched around 30 films at Venice this year, with many of them ending up being pretty good (phew!). The finest films of the fest were two majestically cinematic works of art by female filmmakers: The Testament of Ann Lee and Silent Friend. I would've been so happy with either winning the Golden Lion, but instead they ended up giving it to Jarmusch's Father Mother Sister Brother - one of the worst films I have seen all year. Oh well, it happens. Instead, I want to highlight my favorites from Venice 2025. I always do my best to watch as many films as I can, hoping to find any hidden gems and breakout hits amidst the global selection. // Continue Reading ›

Scary Full Trailer for 'Monster: The Ed Gein Story' with Charlie Hunnam
"You're the one who can't look away..." Netflix has revealed the full official trailer for the scary new horror series titled Monster: The Ed Gein Story, the third season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's ongoing "Monster" series for Netflix. This time they're focusing on the infamous, iconic serial killer known as Ed Gein, the basis for Hitchcock's Psycho and Hooper's Texas Chain Saw Massacre (and many other horror stories). This is a fictionalized version of his real story, embellished to make into a Netflix series, not a true crime doc - starring Charlie Hunnam as Eddie Gein. Hunnam adds: "This is going to be the really human, tender, unflinching, no-holds-barred exploration of who Ed was and what he did. But who he was being at the center of it, rather than what he did." Murphy adds: "The thesis of every season is: are monsters born or are they made? I think in Ed's case, it's probably a little of both." Monster: The Ed Gein Story tells the story of how one simple man in Plainfield, WI became history's most singular ghoul. He revealed to the world the most horrific truth of all: monsters aren't born, they're made... by us. Also stars Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, & Suzanna Son. Plus Vicky Krieps, Olivia Williams, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Charlie Hall, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill, Robin Weigert. This looks freaky! Epic Official Trailer for 'The Luc Besson 9-Film Collection' 4K BR Set
"What exactly do you do for a living?" He makes movies! Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced that they're releasing a brand new Blu-ray box set this fall. It's called the Luc Besson 9-Film Collection, featuring for HD copies of the first 9 movies made by French filmmaker Luc Besson. All nine are on Blu-ray though only 6 of the films are 4K Ultra HD. Many of these are bonafide classics - The Fifth Element is one of my all-time favorites! Though I have to say, after these first nine I think his filmmaking took a downward turn and he hasn't made anything as incredible on this level again since 2005. The 9-film collection includes Luc Besson's: Le Dernier Combat, Subway, The Big Blue, La Femme Nikita, Atlantis, Léon: The Professional, The Fifth Element, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, and Angel-A. Many of his movies from this era were either sci-fi or fantastical or over-the-top with an action thriller premise. "Be one of the first to bring home this one-of-a-kind gift set honoring the visionary French filmmaker, Luc Besson. Including 9 of his most celebrated works, don’t miss out on this must-own collection." Sony also cut a trailer feature footage from these 9 movies and you know what – it is an thrilling recap. "We are, all of us, drawn to monsters... We flirt with death to prove we're truly alive. "Songwriting's a funny thing... it's about searching for something, something that's gonna give you life a little bit of meaning." 🎸 20th Century Studios has unveiled the second trailer for the movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, a look back at the early days of rock superstar Bruce Springsteen in the 1980s. This highly anticipated rock 'n roll musical biopic celebration will hit theaters nationwide starting in October. It just premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival to mostly positive reviews so far. Inspired by the book of the same name, it follows Bruce Springsteen's journey in creating and recording his 1982 album "Nebraska" in his Jersey bedroom, which emerged just as he was recording "Born in the USA" with the E Street Band. The film stars Jeremy Allen White as "The Boss", Mr. Springsteen, and is written & directed by Scott Cooper. Also with Jeremy Strong as Springsteen's long-time confidant & manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Bruce's father, Doug; Odessa Young as his love interest, Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen's mom, Adele; Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin; and David Krumholtz as record exec Al Teller. Review: Francis Lawrence's 'The Long Walk' is an Emotional Wallop
"Walk until there's only one of you left..." This unexpected end of summer surprise is one of the best of the year. The Long Walk is one of three new Stephen King adaptations this year – as well as The Life of Chuck and The Monkey. It's based on one of the early novels by King published back in 1979 (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman). The Long Walk features a dystopian American future + a yearly government game a lot like The Hunger Games; though let's be honest, it's more than likely The Hunger Games borrowed from this story, considering The Long Walk was published a full 29 years before any of those books. And they really pulled this off. This movie got me good... It's even more emotionally impactful and thrilling as a depiction of fascist dystopian hell than so many other stories trying the same. It shook me up proper. Yep we're heading towards exactly what is depicted - it's a zeitgeist concept. Not only is the filmmaking top notch, it's riveting and so unsettling to watch, but the performances are what matter the most and they're all excellent in here. // Continue Reading ›

Illumination Announces 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie' Arriving 2026
The Brothers are back! Universal Pictures + Illumination have just announced the official title for the next Super Mario Bros movie animated sequel - it will be called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and arrives in theaters April 2026 around the world.
