EuropaCorp debuted a behind-the-scenes featurette for the new movie Dracula: A Love Tale, the new Dracula creation from French filmmaker Luc Besson. The movie opens in theaters in France this week – which is why this video is out now to promote the initial opening there. Though there's still no US release date set yet. Written in the 1890s, the old Dracula book follows a nobleman who loses his wife and in his grief and cursing of God is transformed into a vampire. While the original Bram Stoker story leaves on the doomed ship the Demeter, Besson's take will focus on the beginning of Dracula’s life and his relationship with his wife. Caleb Landry Jones (who was also in Besson's DogMan) stars as Prince Vladimir. When his wife is killed, a 15th century prince renounces God and becomes a vampire. Centuries later in 19th century London, Vlad sees a woman resembling his late wife and pursues her, sealing his own fate. This featurette is in English because the film is also in English, despite being made mainly for French audiences. First Look Revealed for Vince Gilligan's 'Pluribus' - New Sci-Fi Series

"Help yourself! :)" Apple TV has finally revealed a first look at the new series from the creator of Breaking Bad, writer Vince Gilligan, which is ready to debut at the end of 2025 (starting in November). His new sci-fi drama series is titled Pluribus - the Latin word is an adjective that means "much, many" (used in the U.S. slogan "E pluribus unum"). There's still not much really known about what the show is about or what will be happening, but we finally have a one-line intro: The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness. Pluribus stars Rhea Seehorn (who was in Gilligan's "Better Call Saul") along with Carlos Manuel Vesga, Karolina Wydra, Miriam Shor, and Samba Schutte. This sounds like it will be closer to something like Apple TV's hit show Severance rather than their other series Foundation (one of my faves) in terms of the sci-fi aspects of it. Time for a party with all the creatures of the world. An award-winning animated short film is now online for everyone to watch. Les Bêtes (which is French for The Beasts) is the newest stop-motion animation film created by American director Michael Granberry. It recently premiered at the 2025 Annecy Film Festival and won the Jury Award & Vimeo Staff Pick Award. A mysterious rabbit with a set of magic keys summons a host of strange creatures to entertain a wicked king and his decadent court in this dark stop-motion fantasy inspired by the works of Ladislas Starevich (who used dead insects & other animals in his films). It's dark and mysterious and wild - a unique creation. This nice review on SOTW says it perfectly: "Granberry doesn't chase the polish of CGI; instead, he embraces the type of stop-motion that's proud of looking monstrous. The kind that isn't afraid to show its stitches and looks handmade – because it is." There's no voices in this, it's all about the visuals and all the various creature creations. He follows the "guide" through the passage, but one after another, strange things happen to him. Is this space real? Or an illusion? Will the man be able to escape? This is based on a video game (it's on Steam), which is obvious because the trailer has a game vibe, and it reminds me of "Severance". The rules of his quest are simple: do not overlook anything out of the ordinary. If you discover an anomaly, turn back immediately. If you don't, carry on. Then leave from Exit 8. KVIFF 2025: Intriguing Belgian Mom Thriller 'Kika' with Manon Clavel

When it comes to making art house films, the filmmaking matters just as much as the story being told. The quality of the filmmaking, the style & techniques utilized throughout, the choices with regards to each shot and with music & dialogue, how it's edited together and how it all flows, all of this can make or break a film. A good story won't be effective without good filmmaking, and stirring filmmaking can elevate a generic story into something riveting and unforgettable. Kika is another intriguing discovery found in the 2025 Karlovy Vary Film Festival (aka KVIFF) selection this year. It initially premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Critics' Week sidebar, but I only caught up with it at this festival in Czechia. Whenever I come across an impressive film like this, I'm always glad I took the time to watch it. You never know what you'll find! Kika is a film about a desperate Belgian woman who tries out sex work and exploiting kinks to make some fast cash. In the MK2 universe, Karl Urban plays Johnny Cage (they even made a fake IMDb page for him) - apparently he also starred in the "surprisingly heartwarming" Bonnie & Cage before. "Prepare for the return of Johnny F. Cage. The F stands for... Fantastically handsome. This Uncaged Fury features Cage getting pissed and fighting a bunch of bad guys because they F'ed with his shades. You see, he really loves his sunglasses, so don't mess with them. Ahaha. "I wonder if I ever really, truly knew him at all?" DBS Films & Buffalo Speedway Film have revealed the first look official trailer for Mr. Wonderful, a new film from director Mark David. It's premiering at film festivals soon and doesn't have a final release set yet but they're releasing this anyway. Sadly the film now features the final performance from the terrific actor Michael Madsen, who just passed away a few weeks ago. They want to share this trailer anyway with Madsen's fans. Hulu Trailer for 'Red Eye' Airplane Thriller Series w/ Richard Armitage

Hulu has debuted a new official US trailer for their release of the thriller series Red Eye, arriving for streaming in the US on Hulu starting this July. Made by Sony TV in the UK, this first played on ITVX in the UK in April last year. They're already working on Season 2 while everyone in the US catches up with the first six intense episodes. Not to be confused with horror cult classic film Red Eye (2005) with Cillian Murphy & Rachel McAdams. The series takes place during an all-night flight between London & Beijing after a British man is extradited to China on suspicion of murder. London police officer DC Hana Li is escorting Matthew Nolan back to Beijing where he has been accused of a crime. However, on board flight 357, she finds herself embroiled in an escalating conspiracy and a growing number of murders. This stars Jing Lusi as Detective Hana Li, Richard Armitage as Dr. Matthew Nolan, along with Lesley Sharp, Jemma Moore, Dan Li, Cash Holland, Tai Yin Chan, & many other passengers.
