Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a brand new sketch comedy series called Bad Thoughts, arriving to watch starting May. "Step into Tom Segura's twisted world, where he spins his signature dark humor into wildly unexpected and laugh-out-loud tales – and lets his intrusive thoughts win." This looks properly cathartic and seriously F'd up! As it should! This showcases a series of vignettes where the stories unfold in a in a hilariously disturbing way. It's also described as "Black Mirror by way of David Cronenberg, if he were tripping on mushrooms." Featuring everything from prosthetic genitals, conjoined twins, deepfakes — and one horrified Peruvian mom. And lots of guest stars, of course. Another Crazy Trailer for 'Junk World' Stop-Motion Film from Japan

"What do you mean there are living creatures here?" What in the?! A second trailer has been unveiled for an indie stop-motion animation movie called Junk World, the next film in a trilogy set around the Junk Head universe. Junk World is the new film from filmmaker Takahide Hori, following his first film Junk Head in 2017, about a world where weird cloned humanoid-esque creations live underground. Four years have passed since Junk Head sent the world into a frenzy. Junk World, which depicts the world 1042 years before, invites you once again into an unknown adventure. This funky fun film will hit Japanese theaters in June, though we have no idea when it'll show up anywhere else yet. The film features stop-motion animated puppets and strange creatures galore. Similar to the craziness seen in Phil Tippett's Mad God (2021). Exciting First Look at 'Star Wars: Visions' Volume 3 Animated Shorts

One of the many debuts during Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan this past weekend was a first look at the next collection of Star Wars shorts in the Star Wars: Visions series. The first volume of Star Wars: Visions anime shorts launched in 2021, with Volume 2 debuting in 2023, and now we have another set of nine awe-inspiring new shorts arriving later in 2025. One of the nine is titled Black, and director Shinya Ohira (from the same studio who made the Kill Bill: Vol. 1 animated segment) personally introduces a 30-second clip. This one wowed me the most - a Tie fighter vs X-wing scene with such a distinct look (I dig the cackle when it goes into the cockpit). All of these new shorts look incredible! I adore this series! Adapted from the novel by British writer Jim Crace, this stars Caleb Landry Jones as Walter Thirsk, the former childhood friend / manservant of the village's weak-willed landowner, Master Kent. Marked by superstition and scapegoating of outsiders, the town falls under new threat after Kent's iron-fisted city cousin comes into possession of the land, with new plans for agricultural profit. Watch: Amazing Cinematic Sci-Fi Short for Bungie's 'Marathon' Game

"What's that you're always tuned into? Worth anything?" Whoa! Video game studio Bungie released this 8-minute sci-fi short as promotion for their newest game Marathon (out in September). This new 2025 version of Marathon is actually a reboot of a classic 90s video game also called Marathon - one of the first shooter games Bungie ever made, released on Mac OS in 1995. This latest update is a "team-based extraction shooter." This cinematic short film isn't representing the exact gameplay - it's created by acclaimed Spanish animation filmmaker Alberto Mielgo, who won an Academy Award for 2022's The Windshield Wiper. This cinematic short features the voices of Erica Lindbeck as Glitch, Elias Toufexis as Void, Nika Futterman as Blackbird, Donnla Hughes as ONI, and Ben Starr as the Narrator. "Free-ranging wolves in Yellowstone: where are they gonna go? What are they gonna do?" 🐺 A must see trailer for one of my favorite documentary films of the year so far. Lost Wolves of Yellowstone is a new IMAX Original Documentary premiering later in 2025 - playing on IMAX screens where it should be seen to be experienced properly. This one reminds me of the classic nature IMAX docs that used to play in IMAX in the 90s & early 00s. Lost Wolves of Yellowstone is about the return of wolves to Yellowstone National Park in the 1990s. It was a massive, exciting reintroduction that involved the US government, Canada, and many people. Leading the project was the charismatic biologist Mollie Beattie, who, along with her sympathetic team of colleagues, was charged with bringing wolves back at a time when they had been extinct for 50 years. But not everyone was thrilled with the idea that wolves would be back. The project became a political battle that required all of Beattie’s skills as a biologist, diplomat and storyteller. Tamara searches for her missing son in a violent town. She hires a morally questionable ex-cop detective to find him. His methods are cruel but she is determined to find her son whatever the cost. Starring Anna Starchenko and Berik Aitzhanov as the duo. Described in reviews as "sadistic, bleak, tedious, yet darkly humorous." Definitely not for most people, that's for sure.
