If Nawaz needs open air, Lal Haveli’s rooftop is available: Sheikh Rasheed

Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Saturday said that Asif Ali Zardari’s 'fuse has blown away.' “He has lost his password."

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the railways' minister said he can join PAC any time he wants.

Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed claimed he is a member of the Public Accounts Committee and that a notification regarding his membership has been sent out.

Speaking about a likely protest movement by the Pakistan Peoples Party, he said, Asif Ali Zardari’s 'fuse has blown away.' “He has lost his password,” he said.

On the subject of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani’s arrest, Rasheed said nothing has changed and things remain unaffected after the arrest.

Regarding the health of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, the federal minister said, he [Nawaz] started suffering from an illness, as soon as he was ousted from power. “If he needs open air, Lal Haveli’s rooftop is available.”

He continued, “These people suffer from such ailments which have no cure in Pakistan and can only be cured in United Kingdom.”

“These people were ruling the country for 40 years.

Zardari wants proceedings of a case against him to be held in Karachi while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz wants the proceedings of cases against their leaders to be conducted in Lahore. There must be some reason behind this,” he said.

Responding to a question, Rasheed said, he does not have any opponent in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). “Imran Khan is my brother and PTI members are children.”

In response to another question about the recent tension between Pakistan and India following the Pulwama attack, the railways minister said, “Modi is trying to fight a war after losing election in four states.”

“He [Modi] has created a 70 per cent chance of war,” he said. “If India prompts Pakistan, a fierce response will be given.”

About the railways, he shared all land owned by Pakistan Railways is being computerised.

“We cut down on our expenses and earned Rs2.4billion. The department has decided to launch two new trains,” he said. “Jinnah Express will run nonstop between Lahore and Karachi.
