"The Queen was very beautiful, but very unhappy." Yellow Veil Pictures has unveiled an official US trailer for an indie film titled The Ice Tower, a stylized fantasy thriller featuring Marion Cotillard as The Snow Queen. The latest film from French filmmaker Lucile Hadzihalilovic, this originally premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year and opens in limited US theaters this October. Jeanne, a 15-year-old orphan, witnesses the filming of a cinematic adaptation of the fairy tale called "The Snow Queen", and she becomes fascinated by its star, Cristina, an actress who is just as mysterious and alluring as the Queen she is playing. Another meta concept about a film within a film, bringing viewers deep into this labyrinthine mystery set in the 1970s. Starring Marion Cotillard as Cristina, Clara Pacini as Jeanne, with August Diehl, Dounia Sichov, and Gaspar Noé. This looks especially experimental, not for everyone.
