Pakistani Naeem Rashid tried stopping NZ mosque terrorist succumbs to wounds

Late Naeem Rashid
A Pakistani man, who attempted to stop the white terrorist who opened fire earlier today at a New Zealand mosque, has succumbed to his injuries.

Late Naeem Rashid, who was injured in his bid to overpower the attacker, passed away late Friday night. He hailed from Abbottabad, sources said.

Rashid's son, Talha Naeem, was among those who died in the Al Noor Mosque mass shooting.

Separately, however, five Pakistani citizens were reported missing following the Christchurch attack and among the injured ones were 27-year-old Karachi-born Areeb and an elderly man from Hafizabad identified as Muhammad Ameen.

According to the Pakistani Foreign Office, the search for those missing was ongoing.

The FO also noted that four Pakistani nationals were injured in the horrific Christchurch terrorist attacks.

They were being treated at hospitals, said Dr Mohammad Faisal, a spokesperson for the Foreign Office of Pakistan.

The spokesperson added: "Identities [of missing Pakistanis] are being authenticated in consultation with local authorities."
