"What if the war lasts until the end of our lives?" Frontline PBS & AP have debuted the first official trailer for the acclaimed war documentary film titled 2000 Meters to Andriivka, the next new doc feature from Ukrainian filmmaker Mstyslav Chernov. It's from the same director + the same filmmaking team behind the Oscar-winning doc 20 Days in Mariupol (trailer here), this time focusing on a different part of the war – the soldiers themselves. This premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and opens in art house theaters around the US starting later this month. A Ukrainian platoon's mission: traverse a heavily fortified mile of forest to liberate a strategic village from Russian forces. A journalist accompanies them, witnessing the ravages of war and all the growing uncertainty about its conclusion.
